  A MUST RETURN! Nothing to dislike at Marianne's Cottage. In good weather enjoy the beautiful landscaping, eat on the deck underneath the poinciana tree, relax in the rocker or comfy recliner while reading a good book. If it should rain the bright interior with its soothing and attractive decor, flat screen T.V., and Bose sound system allow one to pass the hours very happily. For the person who still wants to cook on holiday the kitchen is extremely well equipped. All this within short distance of theatres, good food markets, upscale boutiques, and for the tennis enthusiast the Pelican Bay Park Community Tennis Club. Yet, one does not hear any traffic noise from nearby US 41. Marianne is most welcoming and helpful, while at the same time allowing her "guests" the privacy some may wish. The property inside and out is meticulously maintained. We highly recommend this haven to those looking for a quiet retreat but one which is convenient to all that Naples offers.

  My wife and I needed a getaway from the snowy Colorado weather.....and boy did we find a wonderful place to revive our spirits! The owner greeted us with a nice fruit bowl, cheese, and wine. By her side was a most friendly yellow lab by the name of Merlin. Together they were the best hosts anyone could have! The cottage was comfortable, modern, and the grounds were beautiful. Each morning was spent on the deck sipping our coffee and taking in the backyard nature. Close to everything from Old Town to the Beach. We highly recommend this terrific property as an uplifting experience for the soul.

  We experienced a welcome respite from our long winter with a lovely week at this private cottage. The property was just as advertised, well styled, clean and meticulously maintained. It is centrally located with easy access to beaches, parks, shopping and restuarants. The shade garden and deck were excellent. We enjoyed breakfasts, happy hours and even a romantic dinner in the lush setting. The grounds of the property were beautiful with dozens of fruit trees, a picturesque gazebo and a refreshing pool. The kitchen was well stocked. Fruit from the grounds and a bottle of wine welcomed us. The owner has provided practical amenities that enhance the experience. There were two bicycles we used for numerous trips to the beaches and local eateries. Beach towels, beach chairs and an umbrella were greatly appreciated on our trips to the ocean. The closest beach is a little over a mile away and reachable by bike in less than 10 minutes. With a little exploring we were able to find multiple access points some of which were not very populated. Parking was a bit tricky but a mid morning start solved the problem. Sunsets into the ocean were great! Marianne was a pleasure. She was available, helpful and addressed concerns immediately. The fun conversations were an added bonus! This is certainly a place we would recommend to friends and family and may very well return soon. It was a restful, rejuvenating and relaxing vacation. Just what we needed!

  Our stay at the cottage was very relaxing and peaceful. Marianne had left soft music on, fruit in a basket, candy in a dish, and even had a water bowl and treats for our dog. We felt very welcomed. Our dog, Kobey also was welcomed. When we were not there she had the freedom to wander in the beautiful fenced in yard and Marianne actually entertained her and took her for walks.The owner was thoughtful and helpful when we needed information about the area. The cottage was clean and was depicted accurately. We loved the location in a neighborhood but close to everything. It was "our home" for two weeks. Thanks Marianne for the hospitality and warmth and making our stay a great experience.

  Hardly dog friendly! Do not even consider bringing a dog to this property. The owner's dog is not socialized and we ended up having to keep our dog on a leash, even in the house or we would not have been able to open any doors to get some air as there are no screen doors. The cottage is in a beautiful garden (beware the snakes) with a large deck but the cottage itself is small and the furnishings are nothing special for what you pay. Nice location for walking. We did not receive our deposit back for a month and the owner charged us for repairs and cleaning fes that we felt were not justified.

  Owner response: Everything was great and wonderful for the 1st week and then I asked these guests to keep their puppy with them and I'm sorry this one incident made their visit less than satisfactory but I do appreciate the feedback. This is the first season I've rented my cottage and out of the 7 guest parties thus far, 6 were extremely pleased (see reviews) and this one was not. It was my first dog and maybe problems arose due to my inexperience and not asking enough questions up front, or maybe it's difficult to determine responsible dog owners in a phone call. Dogs are not allowed on the furniture in respect for future guests and dogs are allowed to roam freely with supervision. After one week of having his young puppy continually at my home, jumping all over me and my dog, carrying her 70 feet or so back to the guests at the cottage, I had enough and asked them to supervise their dog. My sweet 11 year old lab was never at their door bothering them but vice versa. If they could have controlled their puppy, she could have roamed freely. I since had a 9 year old collie stay and it was a wonderful mutually respectful experience and the dog was freely enjoying the yard. In the future, dogs are welcome after a conversation and approval by the owner. Screens: On all windows and the front door. Plenty of cross vent! Snakes: I've lived here since 2000 and have never had a problem and why would they want their dog to run freely if they were really concerned?? Deposit monies: These are the only folks I collected a deposit from because it was the 1st dog. Considering the damage done and clean up from the dog, I was generous in returning their monies which get sent out 14 days after departure. Mail is slow out of country.

  The listing description was quite accurate regarding the location. It was very near shopping areas and the Vanderbilt beach access , but also very private. The cottage was located in a quiet neighborhood setting, even though we were very close to numerous restaurants on highway 41. We had our own gate to come and go as we pleased . We felt so very safe that we didnt even lock our doors when we left! The photos that were on line reflected the sight perfectly. The property had EVERYTHING we needed and was VERY well kept and clean. Fresh flowers and fruit were always on hand. The owner made us feel "right at home".The owner was on site and always answered any questions we had. She even had bikes that we could use and beach chairs were available !! My husband and I had never booked a place on line and were a little hesitant in doing so, but we were VERY much surprised and pleased with our stay. We hated to leave and felt like we have a new BFF with the owner.We would most definitely recommend this to a friend or relative. We both hope to come again next winter.

  Serious Gem here. Pics and video are spot on. Wonderful getaway, feel like you just disappear from everything. The cottage has been completely redone, but better than that is the wrap around deck and the lush tropical landscaping. Beautifully done. We went to whole foods first night and stocked up but there's lot's of restaurant options as well. Also, beach is close. We brought our 5 month old and it was perfect and quiet trip. Marianne was attentive and you can tell she really enjoys sharing this place with people who appreciate it. Thank you Marianne!!
