Great place to stay!!
Great place to stay!!
Wonderful place that has everything you need. Amazing views from the huge windows throughout the house. Able to house plenty of people and was in very good condition; a place you would be proud to take family to. Steep walk down to a endless secluded beach--we walked it everyday and never ran into even one person! Also has a great campfire area (the whole property is shared--that confused us) with picnic table. The house is also within driving distance to nearby towns--we went wine tasting and to Shanty Days while we were there!! Definitely would pack some kitchen stuff as it had very minimal utensils and would not plan on catching any fish in stocked pond as it only contained minnows. Will 100% suggest this place to anybody else. A perfect place to take family and friends to!!

The home was beautiful with a deck overlooking the lake. It was spacious with plenty of seating and sleeping space. The property and lake was was very private but close enough to shopping and restaurants. There was sandy beach for sunning, but not really swimming, better for boating. We had a wonderful sisters weekend!

Family Reunion was wonderful
Family Reunion was wonderful
House is well maintained and it's convenient to have the caretaker onsite. Bedrooms were comfortable for all 11 guests and the grounds provided space for walks and outdoor games for the kids. Kitchen is amazing with all the conveniences of home. Campfire on the beach was great and the owner was helfpul with questions and suggestions prior to arrival. Algae on the lake wasn't a big deal as there are several nice inland lakes within a short drive. Highly recommend.

Our family had a great time with the space in and outside the house. The house is very nice, with plenty of room. Beds were good and it's a nice kitchen to work in. The house keeper lives next door and was pleasant and helpful, giving the grandkids some good fishing tips for the pond on the property. A quick day trip to Door county was delightful and easy to get to. It was a quiet delightful getaway we all enjoyed. The only issue was the water quality of Lake Michigan, with a fish kill and green slime on or near the beach, which I think was due to the time of year. The owner has no control of that, she was very nice and easy to work with.

Manager response: Each spring the lake has a die off of the Alewives fish (small minnow size fish) it lasts for about a week. Here is some info taken from WIKI: Alewives are perhaps best known for their invasion of the Great Lakes by using the Welland Canal to bypass Niagara Falls. Alewives colonized the Great Lakes and became abundant mostly in Lake Huron and Lake Michigan. They reached their peak abundance by the 1950s and 1980s. Alewives grew in number unchecked because of the lack of a top predator in the lakes (lake trout were essentially wiped out around the same time by overfishing and the invasion of the sea lamprey). For a time, alewives, which often exhibit seasonal die-offs, washed up in windrows on the shorelines of the Great Lakes. Their control was the impetus for the introduction of various Pacific salmon species (first coho, and later the Chinook salmon) to act as predators on them. This caused the development of a salmon/alewife fish community, popular with many sport anglers. Alewives, however, have been implicated in the decline of many native Great Lakes species through competition and predation. Conservation Alewife populations have exhibited drastic declines throughout much of their range. Several threats have most likely contributed to their decline, including loss of habitat due to decreased access to spawning areas from the construction of dams and other impediments to migration, habitat degradation, fishing, and increased predation due to recovering striped bass populations. In response to the declining trend for alewife, the states of Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, Virginia, and North Carolina have instituted moratoriums on taking and possession. The alewife is a US National Marine Fisheries Service Species of Concern. Species of Concern are those species about which the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, National Marine Fisheries Service, has some concerns regarding status and threats, but for which insufficient information is available to indicate a need to list the species under the US Endangered Species Act.
