Had a nice April visit at this cottage

Guest: c o.
Date of Stay: 04/18/12 Review Submitted: 05/09/12

We had a very peaceful stay at this cottage. It was very quiet and relaxing. Took a lovely canoe ride right off the cottage, visited Sebago lake (beautiful sand on beach and play area for children), and just hung out and had family time at the cottage.

Perfect Family Getaway

Guest: K & A (Virginia )
Date of Stay: 12/22/10 Review Submitted: 01/08/11

Our family (2 adults, 2 boys, 2 dogs) rented the cottage for a week in December and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Kyle responded promptly to our inquiry, sent helpful information, and met us when we arrived. The cottage is cozy and inviting, with 2 loft bedrooms that our boys just loved. It was equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We were so happy that we could bring our 2 dogs with us (they give it 5 stars too.) The cottage was cozy and warm--we relaxed inside and watched the snow fall. Our boys enjoyed playing in the snow and we even used the fire pit one night to roast marshmallows. The location is perfect--close enough to everything but off the beaten path enough to be quiet and peaceful. We went to the nearby snow tubing park and had a blast. At the end of the week, we didn't want to leave. We would definitely rent this cottage again!

Great spot for a fall weekend

Guest: Suzanne45 (Maine, USA)
Date of Stay: 10/16/10 Review Submitted: 12/05/10

We enjoyed a wonderful weekend stay here in October, during peak foliage. The cottage is fully equipped, centrally heated, immaculate, spacious, and pet and child-friendly. The two loft bedrooms are a bonus for any family with children old enough to handle a steep stairway--what kid could resist his or her own loft hideaway? The thoughtful owner supplied plenty of local info and restaurant recommendations, so although the area was new to us, we had no trouble getting around. A state park pass is part of the deal, definitely a useful amenity for summer visitors. We've stayed in many rentals, and this one was definitely top tier for its price range. We'd return to it without hesitation.

Have stayed for 5 years

Guest: Cline (Falmouth, Ma)
Date of Stay: 10/01/10 Review Submitted: 10/09/10

We have rented this property for a long weekend in October for the past 5 years. Every year we have a ton of fun and are always pleased with our experience. We are two young couples who both have growing families. We started out as 2 couples with our dogs and in 5 years we have added 4 children to the mix. As single people and as families we have had an equally good time. We love that we can bring our dogs. It is so nice to sit out by the firepit and watch the kids play or stare at the river. It is just remote enough. You can take a nice walk down the road and feel like you are in the woods and but there is a lot to do within driving distance. we usually go to the Fryeburg Fair and North Conway. The place is always very clean and comfortable. It isn't fancy, so you don't feel like you are tiptoeing around..but it has really nice character and you have everything you need. The real reason we have gone back every year is because Kyle and his family are kind, organized people who do a great job with customer service. You don't feel like 'big brother' is watching you while you are there. They give you your space and vacation time, but if you need them they will help with any problem. The rate for the property is very reasonable, and MUCH cheaper then if you stayed the same amount of time in a hotel. They give you lots of firewood, supplies and if you went when it was warm, the canoes and such seem like they would be tons of fun. I highly recommend a stay here. We feel like it is our great escape every fall!

This is the first time we ever stayed at a cottage. The cottage is sooo clean. The owners really go out of their way to make your stay perfect. The pictures and and the description is just right. The owners were really nice to deal with. This cottage is on the river that leads to the lake which makes it very quiet. It is just perfect for a family.

Better Than Perfect

Our vacation here this summer was wonderful! Thank you. Canoeing and kayaking in the river, free passes to the state park beach on Lake Sebago and less than an hour away from the ocean. The cabin has a retro feel, but with all the comforts. A great value for the money! Our family loved this vacation, and the kids had plenty of (safe) adventures. Maine has to be one of the most beautiful states in America.

Stayed July 17 week

Guest: Sue (Vermont)
Date of Stay: 07/17/10 Review Submitted: 07/27/10

The cabin was roomy and clean. I was disappointed in a few things such as no real beach for access to the water. You have to climb down around the dock and on rocks, no sand. It is good if you have a boat. There is a canoe to use, but how do you get it in the water? We tried to lift it over the railings, but we struggled and with two people we had a hard time. The fridge and the toilet sweats so you have to dump out the water mid-week. I thought it was over priced since there is no good access to water and it appears in the photo that it is secluded. It is not, there are neighbors fairly close on both sides. Mainly quiet neighbors though considering one is also rented out to large family groups. I would probably not stay here again because of the price. The hosts were professional and timely. I might recommend it to a friend if they were looking for a quiet place to access the main lake area and wanted to be a fairly good sixzed town.

Just what we needed

Guest: Denise (Maine)
Date of Stay: 07/10/10 Review Submitted: 07/19/10

We are a 30-something couple who rented this cottage, with our respective 11 and 14 year old kids and two dogs as a test run on merging two families. Everyone had an enjoyable time. The cottage was roomy enough that we could each claim our own space, but still be together. The kids and dogs loved the space outside to play and fish and play in the river. We rented a boat for the week, which gave us frequent opportunities to get out and explore Sebago Lake. This rental was clean and quiet. It felt private, and close enough to conveniences such as restaurants, stores, and activities. I would definitely recommend this rental to pet owners, families, couples, anyone looking to get away.

Relaxing for us and the dog too!

Date of Stay: 06/26/10 Review Submitted: 07/07/10

The pictures don't do justice to the charm of this cottage, which is clean and neat and well maintained. It was our first experience renting a pet friendly cottage and I was feeling a little cautious as I had heard about some not so great pet friendly rentals. Well, this cottage was fabulously clean and neat and so cozy, we felt right at home. The owner has included some wonderful little extras, including a Welcome Basket, filled with items you may have forgotten to pack (so you don't have to run right out to the store after your arrival). The owner has also taken a great deal of time to fill a notebook with information about the surrounding area (restaurants, area attractions, general information) including directions and phone numbers. We found this a great resource during our stay. The owner was very helpful, a phone call away if we needed anything. I have already recommended this cottage to friends who like to fish (the river is so peaceful) and would recommend this cottage for a relaxing, cozy stay.

Great week at Crooked River

Date of Stay: 06/19/10 Review Submitted: 07/06/10

I would highly recommend this cottage. We had a totally relaxed and enjoyable week. The property and cottage were very well maintained and we had everything we needed for the week. Caretakers were available by phone if we needed anything, or had any questions. Everyday we left from the cottage by kayak to explore the Crooked River, Songo Locks, Sebago Lake, Brandy Pond . Water ...water...everywhere, we loved it. The screen porch was a highlight for us. If we were not on the water, walking our dog, or exploring the region by car, we enjoyed our time relaxing on the porch( with a perfect view of the river) with our morning coffee or dinner in the evening . We'll be back

My boyfriend and I visited this cottage a few weeks ago with our dogs. The cottage is amazing, inside and out! The owners were more than helpful with tips on where to go in town and what to do. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking to get away. We loved kayaking on the river, relaxing on the hammock, grilling in the yard, and sitting by the firepit at night. I will be back to stay again!!

Quick Weekend Getaway

Date of Stay: 05/21/10 Review Submitted: 06/01/10

This place was fantastic. Spur of the moment we looked for a place to stay for the weekend and Kyle was able to get us all set up mid-week for a weekend rental. The cottage is plenty big, with a large yard. Having dogs all this land was great for them. It was peaceful and quiet but yet only a few minutes from the center of Naples. Kyle and his family were extremely accomdating and made the whole process so easy. I plan on renting again and would reccomend the place to anyone who is just looking to get away for a relaxing weekend.

Pleased to get more than we expected.

What made this a wonderful vacation is all the unexpected extras. We were able to launch our boat two doors down, (would not recommend this for a large boat), great walks to the locks, dog friendly, canoe, passes to the state park which is 2 miles away, trash pick up midweek, comfortable, clean, well equipt cottage. The lot is very large and neighbors are not as close as lake front properties. The state park has beautiful beaches, and a boat launch. Check out Cub Cove to get away from the crowds. Hiking at Douglas Mt. was great for our 11 and 13 year olds. A great Sebago area location, we would recommend it to friends.

Excellent value

Date of Stay: 08/01/09 Review Submitted: 08/09/09

We enjoyed our stay at the cabin and it was just as it appeared to be on the website. Kyle was very prompt in responding to our e-mails and he provided a lot of information about the area. The river that is next to the cabin is good for canoeing. We found it a bit chilly for swimming this year, but the free state park passes were a great bonus to get a nice swim in Lake Sebago. We enjoyed the Naples area for the variety of things to do including the boat tour of Long Lake, hiking, swimming at the park, shopping and a day trip to Portland. There were many restaurants (Freedom Cafe and Sydney's) and things to do nearby and yet the cabin is very quiet since it is located off the main road. We even enjoyed daily walks on the road without much traffic to disturb us. It was truly a nice vacation spot and good value. We would definitely recommend it.

We have stayed at this cottage every year for the last 10 years and would not trade it for anything. It is an awesome value. It is close to everything, yet out of the hustle and bustle of Naples. The owners do a great job on the upkeep and everything is so clean it makes the stay enjoyable. We love it for the proximity to the water (which is only steps away). We have spent many nights by the campfire and many days watching the wildlife on the water. I would recommend this place to anyone. And... the lobsters are to die for.

Date of Stay: 11/26/08 Review Submitted: 12/05/08

The cottage was quaint and accurately pictured by the ad. The property was well maintained and stocked. Nice for a quiet vacation to spend with games and local attraction info at your fingertips. Neighbors were close, but quiet. Since we were there in Late Nov. many restaurants were closed, but we found alot to do in the area and shopping was close by as well. I would recommend this stop for you next vacation.

Authentic Maine Countryside getaway

Guest: BillK (Littleton, Ma, USA)
Date of Stay: 09/27/08 Review Submitted: 03/11/09

If you want a quiet, get away from the modern world in a authentic Maine country cottage setting, this cottage is for you! The biggest charm of this cottage is the rustic country finish and furnishings dating from 1920s - 1960s that will definately take you back in time. The wood/coal stove will keep your warm at nights. The Crooked River riverside access will bring you to a wonderful wilderness experience to beautiful sebago lake. Authentic Maine seafood restaurants are only 3 miles away, along with a full sized supermarket so you can cook your own meals in the 1960s Style cottage kitchen. This place is a must for a quiet wilderness getaway for the family or a couple looking for a quiet countryside romantic setting. The owner is friendly and prompt for appointments and has lived in the area all his life, so he knows where to go to spend your vacation time in this fun spot. He keeps the cottage in very clean condition, and has maintained this antique cottege and its furnishings in prestine condition considering its age.

I've had the fortune of visiting Naples and staying here on several 'get aways' the past few years. It's in a great, quiet area, but you're a short drive from downtown with restaurant, bars, etc. The owner (Kyle) was great about returning our phone calls, and working with us on short notice.

I have stayed here several times and truly enjoy the cabin. It is very well made up and has a wonderful screeened porch to enjoy the cool night air without the bugs. Kyle is a great host and very friendly. They are pet friendly and my pet loved it here. The cabin has everything you need, just bring sheets and your clothing and food. I would definately come back!

Owner response:We have had great success with repeat renters. Our property is something you can enjoy more than once!
