Alii Kai condo description
Aloha and E Komo Mai (welcome)!
Our Hale Makai ('Ocean house') is a spectacular home at a great value. A rare corner unit with gorgeous 180 degree ocean views from all rooms and the wrap-around lanai, we invite you to come here, relax and enjoy the aloha that our vacation home provides (and that Kauai is world-famous for!). Please watch the short VIDEO of our place (by the photo window) - you will LOVE our condo!!!
Our condo sits on the edge of a bluff overlooking the Pacific ocean and both bedrooms and the living room boast breathtaking ocean views. Wake up to an ocean view from your bed, fall asleep to the sounds of the ocean, have your morning coffee on the lanai and soak up the unspoiled ocean view. In season, watch the whales frolic and the albatross soar by without ever leaving. Also, our condo faces north so from the lanai you can also catch the colorful kaleidoscope of sunrise skies to the east and sunset skies to the west. Our condo is your front row seat to all of the above!
Our condo is a two-bedroom, two-bath unit that sleeps five comfortably and is furnished with tropical, island-style decor. The master has a cal-king bed and the second bedroom has a queen bed, both with very comfortable plush-top mattresses and 700+-thread count linens. There is also a queen aero bed (which inflate and deflates in minutes).
The floor plan is open and airy, and the condo flows from a well-appointed kitchen and island/bar to a separate dining area and comfortably furnished living area. For your entertainment, there is a 37-inch flat panel HDTV and a Sony iPod/CD stereo system in the living room. There are ceiling fans throughout, as well as ample windows in our corner condo to catch the crisp, tropical breeze. We also provide snorkel gear, boogie boards, beach chairs, and other beach gear to suit all you needs.
The Ali'i Kai complex
Ali'i Kai is a small, quiet complex of 56 units spread over seven buildings. Lushly landscaped with palm trees, birds of paradise, hibiscus, and plumeria trees, the grounds are gorgeous. Ali'i Kai features a resort-style pool, as well as tennis court privileges at the Makai Tennis Club. There are charcoal BBQs in several locations nearby. The inviting walk/jog path that runs through Princeville - with breathtaking views of the mountains on one side and the ocean on the other - is only a half-mile away.
If you have questions, please call or email. Also, because I know that a trip to Hawaii is a major expense and for many it's the trip of a lifetime, I take seriously my responsibility to make your stay a memorable one. I will do everything I can to make you happy!
And if you need another condo or this one is booked for your dates, we also own VRBO listing# 316531.
Lastly, as we are new owners of our condo (September 2012) and have yet to collect guest reviews, here are some from the previous manager:

Aloha! Great location. Great view. Comfortable for a family of four. Ample parking. We wished the pool had a hot tub. This unit older and could use some updated blinds on the windows. The existing blinds don't work very well. Adding a couple of end tables and lamps for the couch area would be nice. We watched a couple of movies at night and it would have been nice to have a new TV, although we didn't go to Hawaii to watch TV :-) Overall we were very satisified with the location, price and amenities. Mahalo!
We had a wonderful time and plan to visit again next year.

Great North Shore location
Stayed 3 days in March, 2012
Lori K from Portland, OR recommends this vacation rental
The location is great for the North Shore. Easy to walk to the St Regis and view Hanalei Bay or go to the Princeville shopping area. The unit was very comfortable for 2 couples. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking supplies. Lots of puzzles, games and movies to keep occupied in bad weather. Thank you.

Sheri M from Maple Ridge, BC recommends this vacation rental
We had a great stay at your Condo. It was easy to find and the area was wonderful. The condo was well equipped and included beach equipment which was really great. I would stay there again for sure. One suggestion a kettle would have been good for us tea drinkers.
Great vacation rental

a guest from San Francisco, CA recommends this vacation rental
To me, there is no better place to vacation than the north shore of Kauai. Alii Kai 4104 is in an excellent location both because it is close to shopping, etc., and also because it sits at the edge of a bluff. It is spacious and well furnished and the kitchen is well stocked so you can take full advantage of Kauai's farmers markets. Unfortunately because it's on the first floor the amazing view from the lanai is partially blocked by trees, but you still get the wonderful constant ocean breeze and ocean sounds. My ONLY issues with the condo relate to the lanai (which is small and in need of repair, and should have more comfortable furniture), and the bathrooms (the showers in both are in need of repair). The repair issues are minor, though, and I would stay there again and recommend the condo to others.
Great condo.. loved the ocean view deck

Alii Kai 4104 is the perfect spot to stay if you are looking for relaxation and renewal. The ocean views during the day and sounds of the surf at night help to create a very relaxing vacation. I recommend it highly,
It's a very nice place in a great location. Would stay there again for sure.

a guest from Verndale, MN recommends this vacation rental
This property was ideal for 2 couples traveling together and being able to have enough space and everything they would be used to having at home. Had a couple maintenance issues, and they were fixed very promptly and thoroughly. The veiw was spectacular and the beds were very comfortable for staying in a strange one away from home.

This condo is in an excellent location in northern Kauai. The views from every room are gorgeous and the pictures are as advertised. The condo is well equipped with everything you'd need for your stay. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to friends and family. Owner was excellent to work with as well.

"Didn't want to leave paradise"
"Didn't want to leave paradise"
My partner and I spent 10 days at this lovely 2 bedroom, 2 bath rental in Princeville. The rental did not have any reviews and I was hesitant to book it but the photos and description were lovely and the price was good for Princeville. All of my expectations were met if not exceeded by this rental. The photos are an accurate depiction of the home. It was clean and cozy. Felt very spacious and was a wonderful home to return to after a day exploring the many wonderful beaches, hikes and sights on the island. I have been to all of the Hawaiian islands and the "Big Island Hawaii and Kaua'i are my faves. They are quieter, not as developed and have amazing landscapes and beaches. Kaua'i is a small island making it easy to drive to other areas to find sun, other beaches and incredible hikes. Princeville is on the north shore. A word of warning. Winter brings dangerous rip tides and ocean currents to the north shore but calmer waters in the south. The opposite is true in the summer. We were not able to swim at the north shore beaches most days but we enjoyed walking along the beach and were able to swim at Hanalei Bay every time we went there. A word of caution to families with children. There are no sandy beaches within walking distance of this rental. There are trails that go down to the ocean but they are steep and could be dangerous for young children. The shoreline is rocky and beautiful, but can be treacherous in the winter. The condos have a pool but its very small and we did not use it. We loved the location. It was quiet and close to good restaurants and shops. The unit was superior in terms of supplies compared to other rentals I have stayed in. The kitchen had an excellent supply of pots, pans, dishes, detergents, paper towels, coffee filters, etc. The bathrooms had soaps, blow dryers, plenty of towels and beach towels. There was also a good supply of beach mats and snorkel gear for guests. Both bedrooms had picture postcard views of the ocean and I still miss waking up to the sound of the surf and views. We saw whales and albatross from the balcony every day, and a seal sleeping in the turtles cave at the beach below our unit. I would recommend this unit. If you have children be prepared to drive at least 20 minutes per day to get to beaches and other "island activities".

Relaxing Ocean Views & Surf Surround-Sound
Relaxing Ocean Views & Surf Surround-Sound
We stayed for 9 days and had an awesome experience. We are already planning to return in 2013 - and stay longer !! The listing is accurate, and the owner was very pleasant and helpful to work with. I have recommended this unit to family & close friends as a great deal - and we are well travelled. This condo is nestled right on the edge of a bluff, and looks directly down to the surf line....we had huge surf rolling in while we were there, and reveled in the ocean noises. Windows in every room look out on the ocean - saw albatrosses, brown boobies, sea turtles, plus an early arriving humpback whale. The unit is comfortable and nicely appointed, and has a well equipped kitchen. We were able to conserve $ by preparing most of our meals in unit, and only went out for fancier dinners. The owner has provided beach equipment, which is a nice plus. The unit's building is a 6-plex, and there are other similar buidlings nearby, yet the grounds are green and open, not stifling you. The pool was nice to cool off in, and just a short walk away. Once in the unit, we felt like we were in our own private world. There are foot trails down to the water for the adventurous, and we enjoyed these. We weren't able to get a car (book these early for peak season) but were able to get around easily on foot, and using the local bus system - you can ride all around the island for $2 !! We really enjoyed Hanalei, and Kilauea, both about 10-15 min away - as the "real" Hawaii. Princeville is centered around an 18 hole golf course, and the community reflects this. But it is easy to immerse one's self in the island style, and get away from "suburbia". Being from Alaska, we enjoy being "local", and talking/learnining from the very friendly people here - unlike Oahu, these people are really interested in showing you the best this lovely island has to offer, not just your $$$. The Garden Isle is an apt name - there is green-ness everywhere, and some places feel like a jungle. We saw wild chickens everywhere we went, and roosters crowing at all hours of the day - I guess they're happy fellows! We visited the Na Pali coast on a small boat out of Hanalei - and while the swells were high. we had an amazing trip (and I'm a licensed mariner). We also enjoyed the Kilauea lighthouse which is on an imposing cliff jutting out into the Pacific. Our only regret was that we didn't plan to stay longer at this wonderful condo!! Next time - we will !!

My week long stay at this condo was just about perfect. Very comfortable, clean, great views and sound of the surf. The owner has thought of just about everything to make a stay here easy and comfortable. Many extras as snorkel gear and water toys. Good information on island activities and nearby restaurants by the owner.

The condo, the location, and the views are all fabulous. John is an attentive and efficient manager. I doubt that there are better views of the ocean anywhere on Kawaii. I want to come back in whale-watching season; this condo ought to be the perfect place that -- lie in bed and watch for whales.

Great view! Great condo!
Great view! Great condo!
John was a great host, always on top of correspondence and thorough with necessary information. His condo has a truly spectacular cliff side location with an incredible view of the ocean. If you wake up at 6:00am you can catch the gorgeous sunrise right from the lanai (or the master bedroom while laying in bed!). The place was spacious for three adults and well kept. It's on the north of the island which is about 40 minutes from the airport and a little more than an hour to the south, so if a central location is what you're looking for, this place is not, but it's so beautifully located anyway it's worth the drive. Besides, driving along the coast of Kauai is a great thing to do! Anyway, it is convenient to the grocery store and banks and beaches so we were also just fine staying put some of the days. I highly recommend staying here and hope to again.
