This vacation rental was the most perfect location you could ever want in San Francisco. You can walk everywhere ...the Wharf, Little Italy, China Town, Shopping District etc. No need for a car here! The unit was so gorgeous, large bedrooms with the most comfortable beds; a large eat in kitchen with the most amazing view of the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz from the window. It was clean and modern. The owners were so accomodating and helpful in everyway. There is a lovely courtyard with a BBQ and table with chairs. I couldn't have asked for a nicer home away from home and I highly recommend you stay here!Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, girls getaway, tourists without a car.

The location, views and bedding were excellent. The decor was below average. I believe the appliances (except the range) and cabinetry were all original. The person responsible for our booking was completely confused. We were told we had the top unit (we have the email). When we arrived someone was in the top unit, so we had to go to the middle unit. Didn't even offer to compensate us for the wrong unit. We had little choice but to accept the bottom unit. Good place to stay based on location, view and comfortable beds. This is a bad place if you want something with better decor and you enjoy cooking. In SF on vacation you probably enjoy eating out.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, tourists without a car.

First of all this apartment for a 2 bedroom, one bath was expensive. I have stayed in several VRBO units in the same area and they average $320.00 per night. Saying that I expected a great experience. First of all we paid for the parking. The parking was over 2 blocks away and rather difficult to find. When we did find it, the code to the garage didn't work so we thought we were int he wrong place. Finally someone came out of the garage and gave us the correct code, but this process took 15 minutes. We stayed in the top unit. Although it was not too bad, 40 stairs up to your apartment might be a bit too much for some. After 3 days we were sick of the stairs. The beds were good and comfortable with decent linens and there were ample towels and other things we needed. Here is the BIG issue with the unit. The front room and dining room which had great views of Lombard street and the Golden Gate, had no curtains. It was sunny when we were there and the sun made it so bad and glarey that we could not watch TV in the front room at all (only TV). In addition you could not walk around in your PJ's, because multiple units only several feet away had patios that they sat on and they were able to see everything towards the front of the apartment. In the bedrooms there were sheer drapes, but in the morning, the sun came through the sheers so early, we were up by 6am! Great way to relax. We asked other VRBO people in the units and they complained about the same things. No window coverings at all and they said their units were hot because of it. The bathroom was small and had an original tile shower in a bathtub. The issue was the opening for the shower part was less then 6.5" tall so if you are tall you feel like your head is hitting the ceiling. It made showering a chore and not enjoyable. The counter tops barely left room for a toothbrush. The location of the unit is only 3 blocks from North Beach which is fun and it was quite, but I will not be back. I have stayed in over 12 VRBO units all over the country and this is the only one I have ever rated fair. I still love VRBO and am already planning our next vaca.Did you find this review helpful? This was my first time using VRBO and we've had such a great experience we'll never look back. This listing was exactly as described and the owner made the arrangements flawlessly. Images posted were exactly what we discovered in person and the condo was stocked with the necessities so we were able to get right to "vacation mode". In fact, our flight from the East Coast had been delayed so we arrived late that night & to wake up with coffee available in the cabinet was terrific! For this particular condo, the proximity to the "touristy" stuff was perfect and also right in a neighborhood so you could enjoy "corner store" stuff. Plus, when we came home after a long day of having fun we felt relaxed and removed from the hub-bub (like we were coming home). Our group included two couples (one in their 30s & the other in their 60s) and the arrangements provided for enough space to visit and relax. We will recommend this condo & definitely visit again!Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with young children.

We came to SF for a conference and this place was a perfect place to unwind and savour the local life! We walked everywhere and occasionally we catch a super convenient bus up the hill (it stops 1/2 a block away !) Anyway, we hope to return to SF soon and we've already told them that we are staying here again.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with young children.

When we booked this place we weren't sure where it was located. It has to be one of the best places we've ever stayed during our years of travel. We walked to the Wharf watch the sea lions, then to restaurants. North beach is great, but staying on Telegraph Hill with the view and the charming neighborhood is even better !Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2
