We (My parents and cousins) stayed at Rio Ruidoso Lodge which is a beautiful and cozy cabin in the upper canyon beside the river. Everything went smoothly and the cabin was very clean and well set up and has everything you need to feel comfy. More than that, it has a wonderful living room with a great fire place where we spent many nights. We would definitely stay there again and recommend it to anyone who likes Ruidoso and who has kids.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 1998
About the owner: My sister and I have deep roots in Ruidoso, ever since our great-grandparents first pitched a tent beside the Ruidoso River in 1913. Our family has been part of the community ever since.
Why the Owner Chose Ruidoso:
The location is great. The upstairs balcony looks out onto Flume mountain and is perfect for relaxing and visiting with friends and family. Read a book, listen to the river and unwind to the sound of the breeze through the pines. There's plenty of natural beauty, deer, and hummingbirds to keep you company.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
This cabin is a perfect base for exploring the lively and picturesque village of Ruidoso, and New Mexico, the Land of Enchantment. It's only a short drive to skiing and snowboarding at Ski Apache, mountain biking, golfing at your choice of three courses (The Links at Sierra Blanca, Cree Meadows Country Club, and at the Inn of the Mountain Gods.), several Casinos, the Ruidoso Downs horse track, numerous hiking trails throughout White Mountain Wilderness and Lincoln National Forest, ancient ruins, horseback riding, White Sands National Monument, fishing, camping, hunting, the Spencer Theater for the Performing Arts, the Flying J Ranch Chuckwagon Supper and Western Show, and the Hubbard Museum of the American West. There are also many seasonal events to check out nearby, such as the Ruidoso Art Festival in July and the Golden Aspen Motorcycle Rally in mid-September, and the Festival of Lights in December.
