Year Purchased: 2011
About the owner: I am from PA and my wife is from MN. We currently live in MN and both just retired from teaching. We have been vacationing in this area during the summers for 6-7 years and love the area. We are looking to spend some time away from the cold weather of MN.
Why the Owner Chose Englewood:
We have been staying in a mfg. home and wanted a place with more room with water access for boating and a pool. It is within walking distance of a city park ball fields and a public swimming pool. Englewood is quit & layback but within half hour drive, you can be in Venice or Port Charlotte with abundance of anything you are shopping for.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Since the property is on a salt water canal, you can enjoy fishing, kayaking, canoeing or boating on your way to Lemon Bay (part of the Intercostal Water Way) with easy access of the Gulf of Mexico at Stump Pass. If you do not go to the beach to view the sunset over the Gulf of Mexico, you can experience the beauty of the sunset while sitting in the lounge chair by the pool that faces West.
There are many day trips that can be taken from Englewood such as; Busch Gardens in Tampa, Disney World & Universal Studios in Orlando, Siesta Key (white sand beach) in Sarasota. Also, trips to the South to Everglades, Naples, Sanibel Island and Marco Island.
