Quaint Farmhouse with Pool on Quiet Country Road

Charming renovated farmhouse on a rural dead end road. The property is bordered on three sides by open pastures. The totally private 18x40 inground pool with shaded arbor overlooks a lovely hillside where cows graze.
The Catskill Mountains are visible in the distance and the poolside sunsets are spectacular. From the covered porch you can gaze at more pastoral views and our magnificent weeping willow tree. This is a wonderful place to relax.
The house interior is full of charming details: antique pine and maple furnishings, original wide board pine floors, woodburning stove, window seats, Italian tile floors in the kitchen and master bath, spacious bathrooms fitted with granite countertops and ceramic tile, etc. There are lovely views from every room.
Fall foliage is magnificent on our road. Cross country skiing and sledding are available nearby, and Hunter and Catamount ski slopes are 30-40 minutes away via scenic country roads.
The nearby towns of Hudson, Rhinebeck and Tivoli have wonderful restaurants, antique stores, and boutiques. Films, concerts and theatre are available year round at numerous venues such as the Frank Gehry designed concert hall at Bard College and Upstate Films in Rhinebeck. The Dutchess and Columbia County Fairgrounds have antiques fairs, crafts fairs and county fairs scheduled all summer. Orchards for fruit picking are all around us. The beautiful Hudson River Estates of Olana, Clermont and Montgomery Place are within easy driving distance.

My family had a great relaxing time at this house. It is everything the description says it is, but the pictures can't capture the setting: rolling hills and farmland from every angle, peace and quiet. The pool is gorgeous. Would go back in a heartbeat. The owners are responsive and keep their house pristine.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children.
Owner response: Thank you, Nicolas and Sarah. It was a pleasure having you stay at our home. Do come back! Laura and Maurice

I cannot say enough wonderful things about this property - the house is cozy, comfortable and family-friendly and the setting is amazing! There's a big lawn with a few old trees, glorious sunsets over the rear fields, and a fantastic pool ( we enjoyed some late day visits from a wandering herd of near-silent and un-smelly cows in the neighboring field). Being just one of a few houses on a dead end road kept things quiet and great for young ones learning to ride bikes. While we felt like we were in the middle of nowhere when we were at the picture-perfect farmhouse, in reality, the center of Hudson and Red Hook were just a few minutes' drive away. Farm stands and great u-pick places are even closer. Just dreamy.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children.
Owner response: Dear ES, Thank you for your kind remarks. Hope to have you back again! Laura and Maurice
