Why the Owner Chose Kent
The drive from NYC couldn't be easier, nor the refuge more pleasant. Once in Kent, you will find a million things to do, or enjoy nothing to do but relax in front of the fireplace. The town is the best example of community; the main street is a row of beautiful New England homes and shops, the buildings and gardens are well kept, and people reach out to one another, regardless of where they come from.
The Unique Benefits at this House
The house sits on a private road, on 12 acres, so children can wander safely outside and play freely. The atmosphere in our home has always had a wonderful effect on visitors, since the sun shines into the house through ample glass. There is a magical connection to the outdoors, inside and outside the house.
Owner's Map of Kent
We were just settled in New York City and our youngest child was a baby when we bought this country home--we were not at all sure we wanted to raise a child who didn't know where vegetables came from! The kids are now out of college, and they have nothing but wonderful memories of the beauty, security and freedom this weekend home has given us. They come here more often than to NYC! It has been a happy perch on a hill, with its view overlooking the Housatonic River valley, the Litchfield Hills and the rolling meadows full of deer and wild turkey.

We rented this home recently for a family reunion. We were wonderfully surprised. It was very clean, well maintained, and comfortable. The pictures do not do this house justice. The kitchen was truly well equiped for cooking-which was very important to our family. The owner was very friendly and helpful. Our family visits the area every year. We can't wait to return. I would definately recommend this property to a friend or relative.
Recommended for:Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers.
