This unit is ON THE BEACH. It is literally a two minute stroll to the beach, one minute to the pool.
We are the Kimbles, a family with six children, and two borrowed Chinese students, and we would love for you to stay at our condo. We rely on rental income from you to afford this unit, and we know how competitive rentals are right now. What we have to offer you, besides reasonable rates, is a condo that we love to come to when we can, and that we have stuffed full of everything you need for a wonderful family vacation.
This unit has been renovated by us, with rectified travertine tile floors (no grout lines), and blue pearl granite in the kitchen and all bathrooms. The kitchen has new appliances, including a refrigerator with rapid temperature recovery so that you can stuff it full without worrying that your milk will spoil. The master bath has an enormous shower with a rain-shower shower head. And there is also a new full size stacked washer and dryer. The three TVs and DVD players in the unit are new blu-ray and internet capable devices, and can access our Netflix account, giving you access to thousands of movies, documentaries, and tv shows, for free.
I want your vacation to be stress free, and most importantly, as much a vacation for mom as for the kids. In pursuit of this goal, I stock this unit with basic kitchen sundries, such as salt and spices, sugar, tea and coffee, condiments and more. I also keep paper plates and plastic cups, foil, wraps, and ziplock bags in the cabinets for you. Under the sink I have soap, dishwasher pods, wipes and garbage bags. The laundry area has detergent and dryer sheets, and I keep office supplies and first aid items there, also. I have basic bathroom items under the sink, and the beach area has a ton of beach stuff in it. I have family board games, books and magazines, and lots of dvds in the living room. Housekeeping does all the linens, including sheets and towels, and I am very happy with their services. I really hope all of your needs are covered, and if you can think of anything else that I can supply for you, just let me know.
The height of this condo is such that you can experience everything for which you came to the Emerald Coast. The blue-green water and snowy-sand beach lay just beyond the balcony. Moreover, this unit is on the 15th floor, which is the penthouse floor. There are only four units on the entire floor, and the adjacent unit is never rented. The building tower next door is Southwinds, and it cannot be rented, so it is always empty. The only sound interrupting the ocean waves will be the laughter of your children. The location of this unit on the east side of the building means you can enjoy your tea or coffee, wine or beer, on the balcony without getting hammered by the sun and without getting blown away by the gales. Summer is wonderful, but I hope you have a chance to go in the off season. There is nothing better than throwing the balcony doors open and falling asleep to the rising moon and lapping waves, and waking up to the golden sunrise and the distant peel of seagulls.
The decor is very family friendly, with soft, beachy colors, butter-soft leather couch, big and comfy thick mattresses, and bar stools that will never stub a little barefoot toe. The kitchen back splash is done entirely in hand cut, hand placed Venetian glass smalti tiles, inspiring your children to name every fish, which is actually possible, including Sponge Bob. The dining room chandelier has over fifty feet of hand strung glass beads, and has inspired many games of I-Spy. All of the art work is original, and has a naive, funny vibe, guaranteed to bring a smile to your face. We know you will love this unit, and we hope that you will feel it love you right back.
Oh, I almost forgot -- Here is the boring information. This is a two bedroom unit. The master has a king bed and its own bath. The guest has a queen bed and twin bed, and has its own bath. The living room, with its queen sofa bed, can access the half bath. This unit sleeps 7 in comfy beds, and I also provide a port a crib if you have a little one.
We also have the most wonderful folks who help with cleaning and management, and who pleasantly tolerate the closets and cabinets I have stuffed full of vacation extras for you guys. Most outfits want everything cookie-cutter, and our unit would definitely not comply.
I have uploaded a video I took of the unit and pool and beach. It is 37 minutes. It is very thorough, and I want you to be sure this is the place for you. Right by the photos, there is a tab with a video camera on it, where you can see the video. Fair warning -- it is just me and hubby's camera, and I am not expecting an Oscar nomination.
I have one other unit, also at Westwinds. It is vrbo429145. If this unit is already booked, or if there is something about it that you do not like, you can always take a look at the other unit. It is completely different, in building location and in feel.
Because we have two units, we are allowed two golf carts. Taking full advantage of that, we bought a six seater and a four seater. You are welcome to borrow one, on a first-come basis. That is, you can have the one of your choice if both are available, or the one that is available if the other is already promised to the other unit's renter.

We have rented from vrbo for many years and this was by far the best ever!! The condo had everything we needed and more. Belinda goes far beyond usual owners by providing so many extras. Taking a four and one year old means lots of stuff to pack up and take but not this trip. Belinda had a pack-n-play, beach toys, floaties - you name it. The condo and Westwinds were Immaculate. Loved the easy access to the beautiful beach. We will rent again from Belinda.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

The Sandestin area is fabulous. Westwinds is in a great location. The building and grounds are very well maintained. It’s as close to staying in a resort type property while enjoying the amenities and homey feeling of staying in your own personal condo. The pool is heated. Lounge chairs are plentiful. The snack bar has decent food. You are right on the beach. If you are going to stay at Westwinds there is no other person you should rent from than the these folks. It’s that simple. The only way your vacation could be improved and will cost you several hundred dollars more would be to rent a 3 bedroom unit because their view is dead on the beach but you would pay a substantial amount more. The Kimble’s condo has a spectacular unobstructed view of the sand and water – but it is on a very slight angle- it’s still a spectacular view and the balcony is wonderful to sit and enjoy your morning coffee or afternoon drink. It’s also very quiet – you don’t feel like there are other people on top of you. Their unit is absolutely spotless. I have rented on VRBO for 8 years and have never stayed in a rental that had more personal touches and endless amenities. It is as if you were to walk in to a friend’s home and you have the run the place. Belinda has thought of everything you could possibly need. She lovingly decorated it as such; there’s no question it is their family vacation home, not a sterile or minimalistic style. She includes everything and genuinely makes you feel as though you are a cherished guest in their home, not a stranger. Stop looking and rent this unit or their first floor unit which is also nicely appointed. It does not have the view the 15th floor unit has –but it’s beautifully decorated and you don’t get any of the pool noise – only the sound of the waterfall. You would not go wrong with either one. We really enjoyed the Sandestin area immensely. The shops and restaurants at the Grand Boulevard were lovely and the Baytowne Wharf area would certainly appeal to kids of all ages. You can easily navigate the entire area on foot, bike, shuttle or golf cart. It is a well thought of planned community and appealing to all ages – there’s something for everyone and it lends itself to a very relaxing stress-free vacation.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

This is my absolutely favorite place in all of Sandestin. The owners provide everything, and I feel like a princess. I have been to this unit several times. Whenever we come down with other families, their kids always end up in our condo because of all the movies and games, and the adults always end up here because of the view, Netflix, and endless supplies. I even had a mother at the pool ask me where I bought such a great toddler float for my little one, and I had to tell her the owner provided it. Her look, as her toddler was glugging water, was priceless. The pool area is absolutely beautiful, with lots of lounge chairs and sun and shade for all. The beach was truly a breath of fresh air, and I felt sorry for those who had to fight the packed crowds at the Beachside/Hilton end of the beach further down ..... but very happy to have our beach. With the kids, we tend to be homebodies, and I cooked almost every night. The kitchen has everything you need, just like home. I never had that hotel or camping-out feeling that you can get from an empty, sterile rental place. I had seasonings and spices, and even storage containers for our leftovers. Thank you for making our vacation times so special. You have spoiled me forever. And that's a good thing, because, as a princess, I deserve it.Recommended for: People with disabilities, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

The first thing that caught our attention was the terrific decor. What a terrific theme with all the nautical and beach art and decorations. The view was magnificent. Plenty of room for all five of us. Well stocked with more than the basic necessities. Looking forward to our next visit to this unit. You will not be disappointed with this property.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children.

The condo is on the 15th floor and has a beautiful view of the beach. I could sit for hours outside looking at the ocean! The condo is beautifully decorated with cheerful colors and artwork hug thoughout. The mosaic tile in the kitchen adds even more beauty to it. I read that the owner tiled it herself. Amazing! It was such a wonderful experience staying at the condo. The owners provided everything I could ever want or need! They had condiments, paper plates, plastic utensils, dishwashing detergent, laundry detergent, paper towels, ect for my use! The owners also encourage you to read their books, watch their DVD's, and play the board games provided. Because of their generosity and kindness, I felt like family,I was actually welcomed there. I thank them for sharing their beautiful condo with me. One of the best vacations we have ever taken. The resort is fabulous, the grounds are exquisite , the view from the 15th floor is breathtaking. The condo is so beautiful and furnished exactly to my taste, from the colorful wall mosaic to the beautiful art work throughout. The condo is furnished with so many extras that I have never had included before, coffee, sugar, sweeteners,salt, pepper, all the paper products you would ever need, cards, games, DVD (very large assortment),beach toys, and so many things I can't remember them all. Lovely bedrooms with comfortable beds, spacious baths and a laundry room stocked with everything you need. We were there in April and the large, beautiful pool was heated making it perfect for the cool weather, we also enjoyed the hot tub by the waterfall, so relaxing. The beaches of San Destin are some of the most beautiful in the world and the activities and attractions of the resort make it unnecessary to leave the resort. There is bus service available to fabulous restaurants, spa, playgrounds, grocery stor, boutiques, night clubs with live music, and very close to an outlet mall. I will definitely recommend this condo to all my friends. The owners were so helpful from the time of booking, great directions and helpful information. Can't wait until next year, the grand kids are very anxious to go back.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Amazing condo! We had the best time of our lives staying at this condo. The condo has an amazing view and is exactly what you want when you drive to the beach. Open up the balcony doors and you can see the beach and ocean for miles. The condo has everything you need and more. Everything is very clean and stocked with the essentials. Look no more...this is the one! My family and I have had the pleasure of staying in this condo on several occasions. It is beautifully decorated, but also so very comfortable. The owners' take pride in offering their guests every thing possible to make their stay enjoyable. The listing description on this condo was accurate regarding the exact location and how to get there.The photos of the condo were very pretty,but did not do the condo justice once one saw it in person.We had Ous' and Ahs' around every turn.The lay out worked great for our family.It was clean,bright,and very well maintained.We felt very safe and were very comfortable staying in this unit.The owners included extra amenities to make our stay even nicer.I would definitely recommend this unit to my friends and family.It has the best pool of any of the condos on the beach.It is conveniently located close to the outlets and any kind of dining one might enjoy.We just enjoyed staying there and cooking in and renting movies.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

About the owner: I, Belinda Masdon Kimble, grew up in Haleyville, Alabama, about a six hour drive away from Destin, Florida. My uncle had a trailer at the trailer park that bites into part of the Sandestin resort, just on Hwy 98 called Destin East. I loved coming down with my girlfriends and staying there free, and driving into Ft. Walton for the night life, because in the late seventies and early eighties, there was nothing at Sandestin except the golf course, Clements Antiques, and Camping on the Gulf. Well, a lot has changed in my life and at Sandestin. I am so happy to have this condo, which we use at times in the off season, and rent out whenever we can.
