The perfect place for a couple or a small family looking to get away from it all! The house is newly remodeled, with a lovely kitchen and living area and its own private yard.
The large upstairs bedroom is cool and breezy, with two king beds; enjoy a relaxing evening or a morning coffee on the balcony, and take in the view of the Ko'olau Mountains.
The downstairs was fully remodeled in 2012. The new new kitchen and living room open onto a private fenced yard with an outdoor breakfast table nestled in the shade of the plumeria tree.
This rental is an easy walk to the beach: it is 5 minutes or less to both Kailua and Lanikai beaches, the jewels of the Windward side of Oahu.
The house is in a quiet neighborhood, away from the vehicle and foot traffic in other parts of the Kailua area. Just down the street, walking distance from the house, is Buzz's Grill - the neighborhood watering hole and an excellent place for dinner. Kalapawai Market is just a little way further down the street - a local hangout, where you can get a cup of coffee and the newspaper, or have breakfast or lunch. Bob's Pizza and Island Snow (your go-to spot for shave ice) are right there, too.
In Kailua Town proper you'll find a new (and quite vibrant) Whole Foods, as well as many different restaurants, including Japanese, Mexican, and Italian food. There's also a great farmers' market every Thursday evening, where local farmers sell fresh produce and a series of food stands provides the best Oahu has to offer.
This rental provides you with peace and privacy, and great access to a world-class beach. Residents and visitors alike love the easy-going spirit of this area.
You can enjoy nearby golfing, snorkeling, kite-surfing, sailing, and boogie-boarding, or just hang out on the beach. And of course just a short drive away you will find world-class surfing and diving; now might be the time to take that surfing lesson! The Ko'olau Mountains offer beautiful hikes through lush forests.

About the owner: We moved to Oahu from the mainland three years ago, and we quickly fell in love with Kailua. The small-town feel of the place, the welcome we received from those we met here, and the lovely beaches all just made us feel so at home.
Why the Owner Chose Kailua: We chose this property because it was beautiful, convenient, and private. The neighborhood is safe, and we liked how green it is - the landscape really stands out here.
The Unique Benefits at this Apartment: The house is a classic Hawaiian home - mid-century modern with a lovely yard. The rental unit is an 'Ohana' apartment - a place for friends and family to stay and visit. It was built more recently and has a great feel, too. The previous owners of this house used to live on the Ohana side - they loved the upper veranda, and would sit out there every night watching the sun set over the Ko'olaus.
