Location: Paris Arrondissement 18, Paris, Ile-de-France (Paris Area), France, Europe (25 Minutes from Charles De Gaulle Airport (45 euro cab ride))

Accommodations:  Apartment, 2 Bedrooms, 1 Bath (Sleeps 4-5)

Beautifully appointed, with a baby grand piano in the living/dining area, original oil and watercolor paintings by contemporary artists, this typically Parisian apartment combines classic charm with modern conveniences. Two bedrooms with top-of-the line mattresses, a fully-equipped modern kitchen, an entry hall stacked with hundreds of CD's and books, (many Paris guidebooks) a parquet floor throughout, two marble fireplaces, and original cieling moldings from 1901.

The master bedroom is in a peaceful all-white color scheme, with a full-sized bed, an antique dresser with inlaid mother-of-pearl marquetry, and a floor-to ceiling window that looks out to a quiet courtyard. The second bedroom has two twin-beds and is decorated with toide de Jouy fabric in red and white. Shutters perfectly seal the apartment from outside noises and light. The bathroom is modern, and has big fluffy towels and a walk-in shower (no bathtub).

The apartment is just a few blocks from Abbesses, the new "in" area of Paris, filled with sidewalk cafés and cutting-edge clothing stores, as well as the Moulin Rouge cabaret, and the Sacre Coeur Church. However, Damremont street is an authentic neighborhood street with cheese and wine shops, several green grocers, a butcher, several bakeries and small, intimate restaurants and bistros.

Two excellent bus lines (80 and 95) and four subway stations (Blanche, Lamarck-Caulaincourt, Place de Clichy and Abbesses) are footsteps away, making the Louvre, Musée d'Orsay, the Champs Elysees, and department stores just minutes away. You can walk to the Place du Tertre and get your portrait done, and walk to one of the 3 close-by movie theatres.

You will be greeted by our charming bi-lingual assistant who will provide the keys and show you the apartment. A neighbor, she is ready to share her tips on the neighborhood. I'm sure you'll love our home in Paris, close to all of the famous tourist sights you want to take in.

    • Enjoyed our stay! Suited us with 3 kids. Felt safe in apt & neighborhood. Surprisingly quiet for a busyish road. Clean, tidy - no complaints. Just 5-10 mins walk to metro, food shops even closer. Great crepery down the block!

    • Paris was our first stop on my 21-day mother/daughter Europe trip (16 year old daughter). We stayed 8 days in this beautiful and spacious Montmontre apartment which was perfect - less expensive than neighboring hotels, 2-bedroom so I could rise with the sun while my teenager slept in, full kitchen for breakfast and dinners at significant savings, clothes washer that allowed us to pack light, and wireless internet (best from the bedroom). We loved being up on the hill away from the busy city of Paris with the city sites reached easily by bus or metro in 15 minutes. All the people we met were friendly, though few seemed to speak English in the Montmontre area(but my rusty, high-school French lessions got us by). We took your recommendation to eat at the downstairs Italian restaurant, Pulcinella, the first evening and really enjoyed it. The 2nd bedroom can be fairly noisy from street noise up until midnight; so bring music & headphones or earplugs if you are light sleepers. I wished there had been some piano sheet music on-hand, as I would have loved to try out the Baby Grand Piano however I didn't have any music memorized. The DVD player did not work while we were there; however we didn't bring it to the owner's attention until we left (so I'm sure they will address that). We had a bit of a "key fiasco" when we arrived; due to flight delay, we just missed the gentleman who was to let us in and took us several hours to connect with Allyson via her cell phone contact number. We were tired, holding our baggage after the long trip from the US and thus, had checked into the Holiday Inn hotel next door. However when we connected with Allyson, she expressed her concern and quickly addressed the issue - delivering the key to the hotel within 2 hours and crediting us 1 night charge (to offset the hotel charge we had incurred). I highly recommend this apartment for those wanting to stay away from the busy downtown city in a residential community.

    • Marla's apartment was delightful! We really enjoyed our stay in a Parisian home; the apartment was beautiful and had everything we needed. The neighborhood was a treat - we enjoyed visiting the local markets. And the location was great - close to several metro stops and easy to get to. We'll definitely recommend your apartment to others - thank you for your hospitality!

    • I will never book a hotel room again. Living in this apartment in Montmartre was very homey and comfortable. The district is great - restaurants, boutique (and bakeries!) galore. Thanks so much to you Marla and a special hello and thanks to Allyson and Michelle.

    • I wanted to tell you how much we enjoyed staying in your apartment. It was so lovely and I appreciated the charm and character of it, something we don't have much of back in the States. I am holding onto your website information for the next time I return to Paris. The neighborhood was wonderful, too!

    • Comment Text: What a lovely place. We stayed here for a very happy ten days. The apartment has a very special feeling: light, bright and airy with elegant furnishings and original plaster moldings. Plus the bus right around the corner takes you all the way to the Louvre, St Germain etc.. Highly recommended.

    • With three generations of my family to cater for (my mother and my 2-year-old), I am very pleased to report that we all enjoyed the apartment and the area immensely. I would not hesitate to recommend it to any of my friends and family travelling to Paris. The metro lines are within an easy walk, as are good bus links, great cafes, bakeries, shops and restaurants. We felt very at home in the apartment and feel very fortunate to have found such a wonderful place. It made for the best vacation we've all had in years.

    • Marla, thank you for sharing your home with us, it truly felt like we were staying in a friend's home on our Paris vacation! The neighborhood was great, the corner grocer was very kind to us in light of our rather poor French, several Metro lines nearby, ATMs, restaurants, the Cimitiere Montmartre nearby, all of these things combined to make it a fabulous first visit to Paris. We're recommending your apt. to any of our friends who are considering Paris. Also, for those reading this, Marla is very easy to work with, excellent communication, on site property management met us there, all in all a very good experience, so don't hesitate to take the apt. if it fits your needs, you won't be sorry...

    • We fell in love with this apartment! The location in Montpartre was perfect: quiet yet only a 5-minute walk to the Metro and numerous cafes, shops, and restaurants. The apartment itself - we'd buy it if we could! It was clean, modern, and stocked with everything you would need. There is no bathtub (only a shower), but that was no problem at all, and I'm one who likes a bubblebath! It was truly a home away from home. AND both the owner and manager are so pleasant and professional to work with. You cannot go wrong with this apartment - enjoy your stay!

    • Thank you many, many times for an absolutely wonderful place to stay while visiting Paris! Your apartment is absolutely beautiful, the neighborhood is delightful, it was tremendously helpful having a place to practice, and shopping at the markets and being able to have meals "at home" was a real bonus. Our stay in Paris couldn't have been better - largely because of exceptional accommodations. My friends and I are most grateful for an extraordinary experience!
