Location: Paris Arrondissement 18, Paris, Ile-de-France (Paris Area), France, Europe (25 Minutes from Charles De Gaulle Airport (45 euro cab ride))
Accommodations: Apartment, 2 Bedrooms, 1 Bath (Sleeps 4-5)
Beautifully appointed, with a baby grand piano in the living/dining area, original oil and watercolor paintings by contemporary artists, this typically Parisian apartment combines classic charm with modern conveniences. Two bedrooms with top-of-the line mattresses, a fully-equipped modern kitchen, an entry hall stacked with hundreds of CD's and books, (many Paris guidebooks) a parquet floor throughout, two marble fireplaces, and original cieling moldings from 1901.
The master bedroom is in a peaceful all-white color scheme, with a full-sized bed, an antique dresser with inlaid mother-of-pearl marquetry, and a floor-to ceiling window that looks out to a quiet courtyard. The second bedroom has two twin-beds and is decorated with toide de Jouy fabric in red and white. Shutters perfectly seal the apartment from outside noises and light. The bathroom is modern, and has big fluffy towels and a walk-in shower (no bathtub).
The apartment is just a few blocks from Abbesses, the new "in" area of Paris, filled with sidewalk cafés and cutting-edge clothing stores, as well as the Moulin Rouge cabaret, and the Sacre Coeur Church. However, Damremont street is an authentic neighborhood street with cheese and wine shops, several green grocers, a butcher, several bakeries and small, intimate restaurants and bistros.
Two excellent bus lines (80 and 95) and four subway stations (Blanche, Lamarck-Caulaincourt, Place de Clichy and Abbesses) are footsteps away, making the Louvre, Musée d'Orsay, the Champs Elysees, and department stores just minutes away. You can walk to the Place du Tertre and get your portrait done, and walk to one of the 3 close-by movie theatres.
You will be greeted by our charming bi-lingual assistant who will provide the keys and show you the apartment. A neighbor, she is ready to share her tips on the neighborhood. I'm sure you'll love our home in Paris, close to all of the famous tourist sights you want to take in.

Owner's Profile
Owner Description
Year Purchased: 2002
This apartment is our home in Paris. I am American and my husband is French, but due to his work, we currently live in South Africa. (After living in the Middle East and the US in the last few years).
I lived in Paris as a college student and I never wanted to leave. Many years later my dream of settling in Paris became a reality.... kind of! (we'll eventually return to Paris)
We like the idea of friends and others living in it and discovering Paris as if they were residents there.
The Unique Benefits of this Apartment
The apartment is very airy and light, with a view to trees on both street-side and kitchen. What's great about Damremont Street is that it's on a thriving, "real" Parisian street. There's a Holiday Inn a block down from us (strange, but in France, Holiday Inns are LUXURY hotels!). The rest of the block is filled with artisans and food shops. You can get your hair cut, buy cheese, eat great pasta (downstairs from us in same building), have your clothes altered by a tailor who worked for years as a master tailor with the couture house of Celine and have an antique paining restored all on my block.
