  Great studio apartment (up to date, nice amount of room) in a great complex (peaceful, quiet, great pool & spa). Landlords were very nice and professional and returned the deposit immediately. Great overall experience.

  Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

  We thoroughly enjoyed our week at Wayne and Herta's spacious studio condo, complete with a welcoming gift of delicious grapefruit from their tree! Our accommodations were clean and bright and airy and pleasant. The Murphy bed was comfortable and convenient. The kitchen appliances, washer & dryer, and walk-in shower were all fairly new and quite nice. The washer & dryer could use some instructions, and a bureau or chest of drawers to put clothes that are not on hangers would definitely help, but overall, no real complaints. Wayne and Herta were responsive to our needs and a pleasure to deal with business-wise. The grounds and pool were scenic, well-kept, refreshing, quiet and relaxing. You need transportation to get to dining, shopping, etc. as there is nothing really in easy walking distance, but it is not far to many options. Definitely a nice studio for two people. We would rent it again, and probably will.

  I rented this unit for my daughter and son-in-law because they were able to have a small pet. They loved the complex and mentioned how nice it would be to own a get away so close to their home in San Diego. Downtown Palm Springs was 10 minutes away at most. The complex was very quiet and the pool was perfect for swimming laps. The view of the mountains was a great wake-up each morning. Joshua Tree and Indian Canyons are great half day trips for any age. Our group ranged from 2 1/2 years to 87 years in a combo of 3 units at Racquet Club Garden Villas. Everyone had a nice time and returned home with a pocket of beautiful memories.

  Well, the positive was that the unit looked like the vrbo pics. The pool..great! The bbq area (not shown on vrbo) is tiny. The grounds were great and very well kept. Sadly the negative was the first time in my 25 years travels I was told I was loud.(by the owner and 3 times by the lady next door renting) Not only did this happen...but what took place without compensation, was the owners realization that the 2 adjoining units (which use to be one unit) have paper thin walls and they could hear us, as we could hear them. The renters next door vacated the unit early, at which point the renovations began of putting in a sound barrier wall between the two units. For two days, we were woken up early, had our power go out once from their equipment, and had to go out for the two days due to the loud equipment. This was an excellent resolution by the owners, but it should not have been done while we, the renters, were there. No apologies or compensation were provided. Finally, when the murphy bed came crashing down on day one (when we were outside), we needed to also vacate for this repair. It was a very strange stay.

  Owner response: We rented our beautiful quiet studio condo to two women who brought along a third. The three of them partied every night for a week until after 3 AM. You could hear them across the complex. I, along with the neighbors, asked them three times to kindly keep the noise down, but to no avail. The Guest next door who was booked for a month moved out after three days. At this time, I brought in a contractor who at a cost of $2,000 added additional sound proofing to an already well insulated wall. After reading these ladies VRBO review about the contractor’s power tools disturbing them, I have to admit to feeling a little Schadenfreude.

  We really enjoyed our stay in this comfortable and updated studio at the Raquet Club Villas. The unit worked well for the two of us. We had a private patio with a table and grill, but mostly spent our time outdoors at the lovely large central pool and spa area. It was protected from the wind and always pleasant. The Bouganvilla were in bloom. The grounds are beautiful and very well maintained. The bathroom is on the small side, but has a large modern shower. We didn't have any problems with anything. It is a short drive to the shops and restaurants in the main downtown area of Palm Springs.

  I can't say how much I was pleased with my stay in Wayne and Herta's studio unit at The Racquet Club Garden Villas. A very comfortable bed, a spacious living area, bright and light space, a very private patio at the back, just the perfect spot for a peaceful and most relaxing vacation. Will be back!

  Loved the unit but I thought the listing made it sound like the unit was detached. Clean, well appointed, just about all you need for a week at the desert! Great location away from downtown, but just a short away from it. The complex is really lovely and a true oasis. Really make you feel like you are visiting the old Hollywood retreat! The guy from next door had to come over to let me know that the heater for both units was in his place and it disturbed them when I had it on low at night. I know it's common, but the additional $100 cleaning fee should just be added to the stay and not charged separately imho. Also, the deposit check arrived promptly on Saturday (I left on Tuesday), which was great, but I was expecting it to be refunded via paypal. Would definitely be a place we'd stay again. Thanks!

  We enjoyed our two week stay very much. The unit is well appointed and even for a studio we felt the two of us had enough room for our needs. The owner was very accommodating and friendly, and took care of a minor problem extremely fast (a few ants in the kitchen). I would recommend showing guests how much soap to use in the washer and how to set the dryer. Otherwise, we were very happy with the unit, to say nothing of the peace and quiet, the beautiful grounds and pool area, and the fact that it is a gated community. Thank you, Herta and Wayne, for a wonderful stay.

  This was our 2nd experience renting on VRBO. Our first experience we were contacted by email by VRBO to post a review. This time we waited and waited but after 3 weeks we figured we'd just review this property and hope it gets posted!! This getaway is PERFECT! Loved the architecture, the rental and the grounds! All clean and modern--as advertised. We were greeted by the owner within minutes of our arrival. She was helpful and welcoming. We unpacked and walked around the grounds to enjoy William Cody's 1959 architecture that just gets better with age! It was so quiet and we noticed the pool and hot tub were empty so we changed and enjoyed the beautiful setting all by ourselves. In fact, over the next 7 days we always had the pool and hot tub to ourselves! We like to walk so we enjoyed walking to town about 1 1/2 miles. There are several very nice restaurants and shops. If you like mid-century modern architecture and design Palm Springs is the town and this is the place to rent! (Oh, if you'd rather cook, this fully-loaded kitchen even had a dishwasher--everything stainless steel.)

  My husband and I had a wonderful stay in this condo at the Raquet Club Garden Villas. The unit was clean, comfortable, and very private. We had everything we needed, comfortable bed and furniture, well equiped kitchen, private patio, towels for the pool and presto logs for the fireplace in the evening. We could even see the mountains from the living room. The grounds and pool area are beautiful! We enjoyed the jacuzzi pool each evening and had the whole place to ourselves. There were also grapefruit, lemon, and kumquat trees to pick fruit from. Even though this complex is a ways north of the main strip in Palm Springs, it's only about a 20 minute walk and the bus also comes nearby. We had decided to do without a car on this stay, and found walking and the inexpensive bus service worked fine for us. We would definitely recommend this unit. Thanks to our hosts for a great vacation!
