Charming Classic Condo At El Paseo at Great Value!
Phenomenal location in the heart of Palm Desert! Walk one block to Starbucks, supermarket across the street – and stroll down the delightfully upscale El Paseo, where you will find stores, restaurants (including some of the best in the area), art galleries, an outdoor mall and more. Movie theaters are mere minutes away. Abundant golf nearby. And the architecturally-rich Palm Springs is a short 20 minutes east, not to mention the Cabazon outlets, every shopper’s paradise.
Sandpiper is an historically significant low density development, built in the late 50s by the mid-century legend, William Krisel. The architecture and layout design are still being studied as masterpieces. Grounds are lovely, meticulously maintained, a veritable oasis in the desert.
Most of the truly charming mid-century elements have been carefully maintained and intact in this unit such as iconic cement walls, beamed ceilings, clerestory windows, and vintage tiled bathrooms, plus a 20ft wall of glass overlooking the pool and grounds.
This 2 bedroom, 2 bath unit is drenched in light, and contains 1 cal king and 1 queen. It was recently purchased and stocked with new furnishings, many of which are vintage mid-century pieces. You will find waiting for you premium linens, flat panel TV with premium HD cable channels, Blu-Ray, and Tivo, and all new kitchen utensils, along with gas BBQ. You’ll also find wi-fi and unlimited local and domestic telephone service.
New laundry machines, dishwasher and stainless steel fridge just installed. And for those who like to cook, you will find a gas stove, not always easy to fnd in desert rentals!
This particular unit is set back from the pool, and has beautiful mountain views from the kitchen, master bedroom, and front patio. The rear patio is quiet and overlooks green space toward the pool at a discrete distance, and also has mountain views. The neighbor in the adjacent unit is rarely around; in fact, have never seen her.
Parking for one car is available right in front of the unit. Dogs are negotiable, depending upon the dog’s age, breed, and temperament with a pet deposit (owner has two gentle giants). So sorry, cats are not permitted.
As this is a second home, we are interested in renters who will treat it with respect. Rentals available on a monthly basis (weekly rentals only during key holidays), with house cleaning services available.

Wonderful palm trees and lots of flowers everywhere. Immaculate grounds swept clean all the time. Everywhere you look are trees and green, flowers, and sunshine. Iconic, well-built, solidly quiet condominium. Feels like a home. All this made our vacation out west peaceful, relaxing, care-free. It is hard to beleive how serene and tranquil this place is, with a burbly fountain on a sun-lit patio, yet lots of friendly other people coming and going. Close to a vast array of everything. Restaurants, shops, markets, FedEx and Staples, and Starbucks are all within a short walk. Great for our dog, too. A big area just inside the main entrance for short walks and less than a mile is a fenced in, mini-desert run with nature trails. Lots of friendly dogs and owners on our daily run. The re-design of this unit was tastefully done by the owner, complete with 60s furniture. The place lacks nothing in terms of comfort, cooking, and relaxing, with up to date latest entertainment stuff. We grilled out a lot on the brand new grill, so easy to use. Elizabeth was totally on top of everything from our initial contact to the return of our depost. A great spot.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, pet owners, romantic getaway.

Right off the top: this unit has been beautifully re-done by an obviously caring owner. This rental is a very good value, complete with an experience that was just right. Easy parking right at the front door. The location of this class retro development is enviable - even better than described in the listing. Short walks to anything and everything, meticulous care of the grounds, and wonderful touches in the unit. Beautiful views of the mountains and palm trees from the kitchen and MBR as well a verdant views over the very secluded tucked away back patio toward the well situated pool. Solid construction, no neighbor nor car noise equalled wonderful peace and quiet sleeping. Great combo of new touches and original designs inside. Original tiled baths and kitchen, with new appliances and every gadget known to man. Very comfy beds with lots of pillows. As well appointed as any home. This was a perfect place in which to relax, enjoy the great weather, come home to after golf or the movies or a great dinner in one of the hundreds of super area restaurants. Or use the flat screens to hang out after a home cooked meal made in the well stocked kitchen. Liz was super helpful all through the whole process. She obviously cares and goes to the limits to help her guests. We can't wait until next year.Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, sightseeing, pet owners, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

This was just the getaway I was needing. Liz was terrific to work with - the condo is decorated so nicely, very clean, and has everything you would need for a vacation in the desert. It was a little chilly when we stayed so we didn't get a chance to take full advantage of the pool, but the deck out back was a great little oasis. If you don't know the complex it has great historical value and on top of that it is soooo convenient. You can walk to all of the shops on El Paseo! I will definitely will be coming back to this unit. Thanks Liz!!Recommended for: Girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway.
Owner response: cathy, you and your friends were delightful to deal with, thanks for taking such good care of the place! so glad you enjoyed sandpiper and PD.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2012
About the owner: The owner of this unit is an entertainment industry executive in Los Angeles, and is also the daughter of an interior designer. She uses this unit often, and loves spending time here. This is a true second home, and she hopes you'll enjoy it as much as she does.
Why the Owner Chose Sandpiper:
This community was the first development in the desert; I am a fan of William Krisel and mid-century design. I love the location because it is walkable to everything (such a treat during a vacation), and the grounds at Sandpiper are stunning.
