Spacious, 2800-square-foot, two-story home is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy friends and family. Beautiful lake views from every room in the house. Large deck is the best location to enjoy the peace and beauty of this exceptional lake. Upstairs has master bedroom with king-size bed and bath, two bedrooms with two twin beds and bath, loft area with queen-size futon, games and bumper pool table. Downstairs has another master bedroom with queen-size bed and bath, living and dining room, kitchen and laundry room.
My home is located on a quiet cul-de-sac with level access to lake at Lake Almanor West. This unique location offers great swimming, beach with private boat dock and buoy. Lake Almanor is great for water skiing and wake boarding. Jet skis are permitted and rented nearby. Afternoon breezes make for good sailing as well.
Excellent fly, spinning, and troll fishing in the lake and surrounding rivers and streams for trophy-sized rainbow trout and brown trout, as well as land-locked Chinook salmon, smallmouth bass, and largemouth bass.
The Home Owner’s Association has a nine-hole golf course, four tennis courts, a basketball court, a lakefront recreation area (with huge grass area, barbecues, sand beach, and children’s play equipment), all within walking distance of the house. A boat launch ramp is just down the road. There are two more golf courses in the area including 18 hole Bailey Creek course.
Looking for a fly-in vacation? Only four miles from Rogers Field Airport in Chester.
Nearby towns include Chester (6 miles), Westwood (15 miles) Chico (70 miles) and Reno (100 miles).
Mount Lassen Volcanic National Park is not far for a hiking adventure.
Winter is a lovely time of year with snowfall around the house. Nearby you can rent snowmobiles and cross country skis. There are also many places to enjoy sledding. Or just settle in by the woodstove with a great book or game and watch the snowfall.

This home on Lake Almanor is wonderful - we really didn't feel like going out of the house most days. We stayed there over Christmas break, though I can tell that most people come here during the summer, as it's right on the lake. Everything about the house is comfortable - it's the little things that make a difference. My wife, I, and our two children (under 6) stayed here, though the place has enough bedrooms for more to stay. The two largest bedrooms have a King and Queen bed, respectively, so if you had two families, one couple would get the slightly smaller bed. The other two bedrooms have twin beds, so they are perfect for 2 kids (in each room). That being said, we were glad to have the place to ourselves. The kitchen is well equipped, which was important to us as we cooked and ate there most days. The dishes, cups, cookware, utensils, etc, were of nice quality, and plentiful, not like some of the VRBO homes where you almost wish you had brought your own stuff. The house had been meticulously cleaned, and we appreciated this very much after a long drive. The bathrooms are plentiful (3) and very clean and well-stocked. There is a small pool table, and many board games, which our kids immediately took to. While we couldn't get the cable television to work - perhaps we couldn't follow the instructions easily enough - I had thought ahead and brought our Apple TV box and an HDMI cable to connect it to the flat-screen TV - because the house has wireless Internet (which worked), we were able to watch Netflix movies. The owner Deanna is also a pleasure to deal with, and was very accommodating and helpful, allowing us to check in early (though we never did because the drive took longer than planned). The area is somewhat set away, and there wasn't much to see in the nearby town of Chester, but the Mt. Lassen Volcanic National Park area was beautiful (during the winter, the park is mostly closed, so it's better to go there in the summer if that's what you want to do). We absolutely plan to return to this home!
