The large backyard and garden are an oasis of foliage in the Summer and a stunning backdrop of snow covered aspen trees come Winter time. Bald mountain hovers directly behind the property.
Every corner will surprise you with quality, detail, fit and finish.
The large living room has two couches and contains an HDTV gathering area, wood fireplace and wet bar that allows everyone to spend time together and relax.
The Bose sound system pumps out rich musical backdrops while the dramatic above cabinetry lighting sets the mood for a sensational evening.
Everyone stays in the mix with kitchen, dining and living room all connected and opening directly onto the expansive back patio and side BBQ and hot tub area.
Whether enjoying the aroma of wild thyme over a glass of wine on the slate patio or a cool cocktail in the hot tub with snow falling, the seasons will delight you at our one of a kind home.

We all fell in love with your house. When you first open the front door the house welcomed us. It was much more than we thought it would be and equipped with everything. The house was warm, comfortable and wonderfully furnished. We had a great time, couldnt have asked for better, and we will be very happy to rent this house again. It is definitely great for any kind of getaway, and we loved it.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, people with disabilities, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We are a group of college friends who have been skiing together once a year for the last 15 years. We travel out of California every other year, and this year we chose Sun Valley. The 5 of us stayed 4 nights at this great house. We ate our breakfasts in and there was plenty of room at the table and lots of plates and pots and pans for cooking. The TV area is a bit tight for 5 guys who don't like to sit too close together. The sleeping areas, hot tub and room above the garage all worked our perfectly. I think it's best to have a car at this location, although it is possible to stumble home from Grumpy's if needed. Thanks for having such a nice home and we look forward to staying with you again on our next visit to Sun Valley.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children.

We had another great ski trip to Sun Valley and stayed at the Sun Valley Cottage. The quality and ambiance of this French-style chalet always adds significantly to our overall vacation experience. The house truly feels like a "home" with soft, elegant lighting, completely custom millwork and well-equipped kitchen with a BBQ on deck that we regularly put to use. Most nights we found ourselves preferring to cook and eat in rather than head to town for dinner. However, since we had several groups, the proximity to town was perfect so that everyone could come and go on their own schedule. It's a short walk for morning coffee and breakfast at Java's, and not much further to Main St. for dinner and an evening out which is an aspect we really like about the cottage compared to other places we've stayed further out of town. Finishing a long day on the ski hill in the hot tub surrounded by snow is hard to beat. Beds, linens, sheets and towels are all topnotch -- and the benefit of having the self-contained separate apartment with range, oven, fridge and microwave makes this place unique and ideal for couples or a muti-family trip. We're already planning to return to the cottage next year for our annual ski trip!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children.

We enjoyed the home, it was very comfortable, clean and well furnished. Its only minutes to downtown by walking and a quick drive to River Run. The owner was very responsive to our needs. Overall, I highly recommend this home as a great vacation place. We were five men on a "guys" skiing trip and we were all very comfortable.Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

Stayed here for a long girls weekend - what a treat! Plenty of room for all of us to have our own private space, yet just the right amount of space to feel cozy. Cocktails on the stone veranda in back were memorable, as was hanging out in the kitchen talking and sitting around the country dining table. Loved being able to ride bikes around the neighborhood, on trails and into downtown Ketchum. Terrific summer concerts in the park (Ketchum Alive in local park and the symphony at Sun Valley Resort). Farmers Market is on Tues in downtown Ketchum. Fantastic hiking on nearby trails (Mt. Baldy and others), as well as further excursion to Redfish Lake. The vastness of the scenery is staggering, the Hemingway nostalgia very real, the local dining top notch (Boca is 1st class, Java on 4th is cozy coffee house) and the decor of the house enviable - definitely the most elegant house in the neighborhood - but without feeling overdone or stuffy. A nice contrast to the expected heavy log cabins and other mountain homes. Hope to make this an annual destination.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing.

This is an incredible place and even more awesome than the photos suggest. We have enjoyed the house in the winter and summer and found it to be delightful both seasons (hard to say which is best!). It is spacious, but cozy and can accommodate multiple families. The little sleeping alcoves are perfect for children. The separate apartment has a kitchen and sitting area in addition to the bedroom which provides a lot of options for renters. The kitchen is well appointed and has what you need if you like to cook (which we do). The location is within walking/biking distance to the Pio, River Run Plaza, and close to the trail and tennis courts. To sum it up, it is one of my favorite all time places!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

You cannot ask for more. This is a spectacular house. Plenty of room for multiple families. Great location with a short walk to downtown from a nice private court. The backyard is beautiful and private. Great kitchen and living room area. The house is immaculate with and well appointed. We were there Sept 22 to 29, 2012. A fabulouus week in a fabulous home. The house is extraordinarily comfortable, convenient and quiet. Whether you want to play golf, bike ride, walk, read, hot tub, wander the shops in Ketchum, or nap this is an ideal house and location. Wow, I loved this house and it's location. The views are fantastic and the privacy is awesome. If you are looking for a great family getaway house, this is it. About the owner: Originally purchased in 1997, our family continues to enjoy visiting the Wood River Valley for holidays, get together, skiing, snowmobiling, hiking and more. We're very excited to be able to share our wonderfully unique home with visitors!

Being so close to town as well as having 2 structures on the property allows all visitors to enjoy time together as well as maintaining multiple daily itineraries. People can walk to and from town and the adjacent outdoor activities all throughout the day as they see fit.

West Ketchum truly is the best of both worlds. We have full outdoor enjoyment areas yet are walking distance to Main Street. It's a real treat!
