What an amazing find! I rented the house for a group of 9 rock climbers and was so glad we stayed here! Mark and Cindy were great hosts. They were very responsive via e-mail before our stay. The house was extremely clean and spacious and was the perfect size for my group. The views from the house were terrific and it was so close to Smith Rock. The growler of beer from a local Bend brewery and fresh eggs were a nice bonus too. During our stay, Mark was nice enough to stop while we were climbing to get the wood-fired hot tub ready for us after a long day. After our stay, Mark found some items that were left behind and offered to mail them out to us. All around, a terrific experience!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, girls getaway.
Owner response: We are delighted that our accommodations are flexible enough to adapt comfortably to 9 or more people! Mark really enjoys making sure the soaking tub is ready for tired adventurers after a day outside, and we both love the hands on management that we make a priority. The weather has been gorgeous, and the gardens are planted. Mt. Hood and Mt. Jefferson have been splendid on the skyline, and the deer have been nibbling on the hill behind the house. Come experience the beauty of Central Oregon in the comfort of home at The Good Earth.

What an amzing place to stay! Being a trail runner and mountaineer, my family and I were in heaven. From the moment we drove up to the house and enjoyed the majestic views, to the amzing wood burning hot tub after a long run, what else can you ask for. The house was very clean and set-up perfectly to host two families, as well as young children. The kitchen and great room were of ample size and suited us nicely. The hosts met us gave us a walk through and were close enough that if we needed something they could answer our questions or help out if need be. The drive to Terrebonne was within 2 miles and you could be to Smith Rock ready to climb, hike, run or bike in 10 minutes. I would strongly recommend this home to anyone looking to get to Central Oregon for any type of outdoor activity. In fact my family and I have already booked this home for two outdoor adventures coming up in 2014.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with young children.
Owner response: We love hearing how our guests enjoy the view from the house overlooking the valley and Smith Rock. Sitting in the snorkel wood heated hot tub in the evening is so relaxing after a day of hiking, climbing, running or just exploring Central Oregon. The convenience of having a grocery store just 2 1/2 miles away and additional shopping in Redmond just 5 miles away makes your stay even more enjoyable. The herb garden is beginning to produce along with the purple asparagus popping through the ground. Flowers are in bloom, wild birds are at the feeders. WE look forward to your return trip in 2014.

What a great location! So close to a runners, mountain bikers, and climbers dream of Smith Rock. My family and I were there for a trail run and truly enjoyed the experience. From the owners personally greeting us and giving us a walk through, to the majestic views far and wide. The house was set-up perfectly to accommodate two familes and children as well. The hot tub was another valuable asset after a hard days run. The house was in perfect shape and well maintained. Things were easy to find and the house was very accessible from many different doors. This is such a great house and location, that we are planning on booking trips for next year already. I would encourage anyone traveling to Smith Rock to rent this home from two great owners.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with young children.
Owner response: It is the location... comfort ...and views from the home that people keep referring to! We love the fact that we are hands on and our guests appreciate it so much. We don't have much control over the weather or when the clouds roll in, that is the nature of Central Oregon! What we do well is place a high value on customer service! The snorkel wood fired tub is totally awesome and we are beyond happy that our guests are enjoying the extra touches we've added. It is May and beautiful ........ book a couple nights with us!

What a great find! We had a large group and Mark and Cindy worked with us to make this happen and it was so worth it! The house is just minutes away from Smith Rock where we spent the weekend climbing. Everyone loved the layout, and it gave us plenty of room for our gear. Mark has even set up an area in the shop with I-bolts for us to hang our climbing racks in order to re-rack and organize them along with a large table for our gear. Just great for us climbers! And when we needed a kitchen gadget that we didn't have, one call to them had it to us right away! All in all, Mark and Cindy, you and your home really helped make this a great weekend for our group, Thank You!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.
Owner response: We are seeing more and more climbers use The Good Earth as a home base! Every time we host these folks we learn more about not only climbing, but the special equipment needs they might have. We've done some work to make their stay easier, and the fact that this recent large group of students worked so well makes us realize we are on the right track! We enjoy all the visitors that chose to make The Good Earth the place to hang their hat (or helmet)! The Snorkel soaking tub is toasty, and the Wildlfowers are splashes of purple and yellow around the rocks! Join us here in the beautiful high desert of Central Oregon this spring or summer!! Happy exploring! Cindy and Mark

Mark and Cindy should be commended for the level of care and detail they go to at The Good Earth. Their priority is making you as comfortable as possible so that you can make relaxing your priority while visiting. We travelled to Terrebonne to enjoy the fantastic climbing at Smith Rock, which is literally a ten minute drive from the property. Everything is so close that you are not left wanting for anything. There is great food near and there are two towns close by for anything that Terrebonne doesn't have. After climbing all day it was awesome to come home to the hottub and relax with a beer as the sun set on the horizon. Which reminds me that where the property is located you feel like The King of the Hill looking down on the town. It feels very private but also not remote at the same time. The house was perfectly clean, the beds were comfortable, and the kitchen had everything we needed to cook well all week without needing to go out to restaurants for food unless we wanted to. We really appreciated the extras we found in the fridge/kitchen when we arrived (see: growler of beer in fridge, fresh eggs, fresh coffee beans). A huge thanks to Mark and Cindy for everything and we are looking forward to our next visit. Cheers, Mike and Tracy From: Vancouver Island, CanadaRecommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway.
Owner response: Our guests mentioned the very things that we love too about this spot.....close to everything, yet private in a very quiet neighborhood, and of course the incredible view from the top of the hill! Our priority certainly is the comfort of our visitors and tip top cleanliness. We are always thinking ahead to what the next best addition would be to make the experience at The Good Earth a step beyond a normal vacation rental. It is this idea that drives us to add more amenities that suit the needs of our guests. Every suggestion that has been made in our visitor book, or left on note paper.......has been completed immediately. Spring is here, and summer is fast approaching, be sure and check our calendar and book some time at The Good Earth!! Cheers! Mark and Cindy

We stayed at the Good Earth for two nights following the Easter weekend. Enjoyed everything about the experience. Central Oregon is one of our favorite close to home getaways, and staying in this home was so relaxing! The views -- WOW! Mark and Cindy are really making that extra effort to make your stay memorable. Many thanks!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: It was lovely outside during Easter and beyond! Our guests could not have picked better weather to enjoy a quick getaway. No matter what it is doing outside "The Good Earth" is set up for comfort. As visitors make suggestions, we implement them. We are hands on owners and live locally not in another city or state, so this is our own niche in Oregon too! The sun is shining more and the spring flowers are in bloom! Plan a visit to Central Oregon soon!

Fantastic place to stay - the price is right and the hosts are helpful and amiable, having the hot tub ready for us to soak after long days exploring Central Oregon and fresh eggs in the fridge!. The home is spacious and comfortable with amenities you expect and some you might not - eg the fire heated hot tub, well furnished kitchen and plenty of places to sit and soak in the surroundings. I even found a crock pot which I put to use immediately. The Good Earth's location is very convenient as well, Downtown Terrebonne, Smith Rock and Redmond are literally minutes away. Bend and Sisters are a mere 40min drive. Daughter describes The Good Earth this way: "Hole in One", A++Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: It may seem to some that we are out in the country but in fact we have a perfect blend of rural quiet, with a centrally convenient location! We are close to wherever your heart may take you in gorgeous Central Oregon, with a comfortable place to kick your shoes off when your journey is done. Our Spring Break guests were on the go every day, hiking, fishing, exploring, and visiting local parks and museums. They roamed from the Metolius River, to Fork Rock and points in between. They even added an extra day to their stay before returning to the city! We love it that our guests are enjoying the house and the high desert we call home!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Good Earth. The house was spotlessly clean and accommodated our group very comfortably. The kitchen had sharp knives, clean sponge, bottle of wine, a dozen eggs, and coffee beans. There were appropriate dishes and appliances, making cooking very easy. The photos as seen are accurate, as is the description. The view from the living room is wonderful. The trail in back of the house allowed us to climb a hill to view all of the snow-capped mountains in the distance. This is a house we will return to. I already have a reservation for next month.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: We are always so happy when people are surprised to find the house just as we advertised it. The pictures and descriptions are exactly what we offer! We strive to make it easy to check out our rental page and be assured that it is really everything we say it is! Also we so appreciated our last guests giving us a few suggestions to make the home even better from their perspective. We are open to always fine tuning as each guest is an individual with different ways of looking at the house. We love that!! Spring is closing in!!! Give the Good Earth a try! Cindy, Mark, and Bob

Stayed here with three friends mid January. It couldn't have been better. So clean and spacious. Great space for friends or couples. The views are amazing. Great kitchen to feed yourself, or a short drive to local food and brews. Can't wait to go back and enjoy the new hot tub.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: We were happy to have some Track Town Crossfit trainers from Eugene here for a competition in Bend. Staying at The Good Earth meant the ability for healthy cooking, blending juices, plenty of rest and relaxing after strenuous challenges!! Adding the soaking tub will be a huge benefit for guests mind, body and spirit! Whatever your interests, make your home base at The Good Earth!
