St. George has been a favorite spot for our family to spend spring break but finding this gem made our stay exceptional this time around. The villa was perfect for our family of four, very spacious, comfortable, beautifully furnished and relaxing. Located close to town, shopping and great restaurants were easily found but the kitchen and patio grill were really all we needed, not wanting to miss out on the quiet evenings with the open space backing up to the yard. Quick access to mountain biking, rock climbing and hiking made planning our days a cinch and we all enjoyed relaxing by the water feature in the back yard upon return from our adventures. The neighborhood was very welcoming, quiet and unobtrusive. I would highly recommend this villa for anyone, it was really a great find. Now all I need to do is start golfing to make it the truly perfect vacation spot as the course looked immaculate!Recommended for: Girls getaway, people with disabilities, families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

The Desert Canyon Villa offers a beautiful, private, desert retreat for couples or families. I stayed for one week with my 16-year old daughter and another family of four, including two younger children, ages 10 and 12. The house offers several, private sleeping arrangements so all have their own space. We had a relaxing, inexpensive, spring vacation including excellent and varied rock climbing, mountain biking on Gooseberry Mesa, hiking in Zion National Park and afternoons at the recreation-center pool. We enjoyed a couple of evenings out in downtown Washington, but spent most of our evenings grilling and enjoying meals out on the patio. The back yard is adjacent to open space, so the back deck, yard and patio are perfect for mellow, evening meals and morning coffee, rock, water-feature included. I don't play golf, but the local course looks excellent and offers beautiful views. Road biking in the area looks plentiful as well. Housing developments like Coral Canyon offer nice, quiet, desert-vacation alternatives to the more tourist-heavy areas of Utah around Moab and Fruita, and the drive from Colorado through small, desert Utah towns like Hanksville, Torrey and Escalante is beyond scenic. In general, the Desert Canyon Villa is a quiet, comfortable home for your active and/or relaxing desert vacation.Recommended for: Girls getaway, people with disabilities, families with young children, sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

About the owner: As a young family many years ago, we fell in love with Utah while living in Salt Lake City in the '90's. Now that we are 'empty-nesters' we are happy to come home to Utah as often as we can.
Why the Owner Chose Washington:
When deciding to purchase our future retirement home, many places were considered but the desert of St. George won us over easily. After many travels to various sought-after locations in the West settling on St. George was almost a no-brainer.

We designed this desert home to be our retreat from the long and cold winters of Colorado. Our desert villa is special to us in that we have pain-stakingly appointed every room for our personal comfort. We feel certain you will enjoy what we have created.
While still living elsewhere we escape here as often as we can, and welcome you to enjoy our home when we can't be there. If you enjoy peaceful and quiet surroundings, our home will not disappoint. Welcome and enjoy.
