We took a family vacation to Charleston after Christmas and stayed at this property. We loved the open space in the house. My daughter (23) especially loved the hammock on the front porch. This house was very clean and roomy for 7 people. I would recommend this house to anyone who plans to visit the Charleston area. It was much better than staying in a hotel! We really enjoyed having a Christmas tree in the house too. We are thinking about coming back next year if possible. Thanks for sharing your victorian house with us. Janice and Gary Morris

The house was everything we hoped for and more. I loved the porches, my children the bunk room, and my nephew the great tennis courts just steps away. The house was clean and well maintained. The kitchen had eveything we needed. We plan to return!

Best Spring Break

Our family joined four others for a spring break trip. It was a great time. The house is AWESOME. Very relaxing and we can't wait to come back next year if the High School team does a spring break trip. Close to the beach but the back screened in porch was the favorite.

Wonderful Vacation House

Guest: Lore G (Lancaster,PA)
Date of Stay: 06/13/09 Review Submitted: 06/29/09

This house is wonderful! My family stayed here with my two sisters' families, and everyone said that this was one of their favorite vacations ever. The adults loved the feather beds and the cotton sateen sheets. The kids loved being able to share the bunkroom and hang out together. With the large front porch, the cheery back porch, and the open main living area, there was plenty of room for all of us to spend time together and not feel crowded. The house's location was great, too! In the morning we could eat breakfast on the back porch and watch the turtles in the lagoon. It was a short walk to the beach past pretty houses through a quaint, low traffic neighborhood. We felt safe allowing our kids, who range in age from 13 to 20, to walk to the beach, go to the Grand Pavilion pool, and take bike rides around Wild Dunes, and they enjoyed the freedom. It was also a short drive to Charleston. I would definitely recommend this vacation house to others, and we can't wait until we can go back again! We really appreciated that it was pet friendly, too. Thank you!

Nice house at a great location

Date of Stay: 05/26/08 Review Submitted: 06/04/08

The property is quite nice and in a great location. It's a short walk to the beach, near the Grand Pavilion and with the new restaurant nearby (the lettered olive, named for SC's state shell) you don't have to travel out of Wild Dunes. The house itself is as described. It was comfortable and well stocked. Lot's of rocking chairs and a nice hammock on the front porch. The screened in rear porch was a great place to enjoy breakfast. The layout accommodated our family well. One grand parent, who is disabled, was able to say on the ground floor and there were only a limited number of steps to traverse to get up to the house. The beach was accessible via a motorized wheel chair, again, with only limited number of steps to traverse to get down to the sand. I also wanted to say that the owner was very responsive. My in laws had an issue with the upstairs mattress and once we notified the owner, she promptly agreed to replace it.

Letter we received from one of our guest: We are a gymnastics team from Gainesville, Florida and we stayed at your house at Wild Dunes during a meet that we went to in Charleston. Staying at your house was so much fun! When we walked in we couldn't believe how beautiful it was. Every room was so nicely decorated and the feather beds were awesome to sleep on! Most of the team slept in the bunkroom...that was fun having our own room. We went on a boat tour to Caspers Island and saw a lot of dolphins...there was even a mother and her little baby that had just been born! We had fun collecting shells and sand dollars even though it was really cold. Some of us rented bikes and some of us played beach volleyball. We loved the beach so much that we decided to take our team picture on the beach! Our meet was fun, but staying in your house made our trip the best that we have ever been on. Thank you for letting other people share your special home. We hope we can stay there again next year. Oh yeah...our parents loved it too! They plan to vacation there! This was a perfect house for uor family reunion. We had a wonderful time at Wild Dunes and the house couldn't have worked out any better. I was surprised to find that it was much larger than it appeared on the web site. Everything was so bright and cheerful and the kids loved having their very own bunkroom. I would be pleased to recommend this house as a perfect "get-away". Thank you for all of the special helpful information you sent. Bethany Simpson and family

Immaculate, we could have eaten off the floor (you may have thought we did after my 2, 4 and 7 year old left). The house is beautiful. Wild Dunes was a blast for the grown ups and tons of fun for the little ones. We are coming back next year with another family. Thank you again!!!Loved the feather beds.

What a wonderful house! We had such a good time this past weekend. Just wish we could have stayed longer. Our poodles had a wonderful time on the beach - this was their very first beach trip. Thank you for allowing us to bring our "babies". Karen and John Ferrell Alexandria
