A great view, but that's about it
A great view, but that's about it
Eight adults and one toddler rented this vacation home for 5 days, 4 nights to celebrate my sister's 30th birthday. The view is amazing!!! The pictures are accurate and the beach is right next door. Downtown Paia is literally right up the street and there are a handful of restaurants and shops so it was very convenient. My son is a toddler and we wanted to be close to the beach, and at the price per night, it seemed more than reasonable. However, the steps to the beach from the house were very steep and I would never let my son trek them himself because he could easily slip and fall on the sharp rocks below. We wound up walking on the main street, which took about 10 minutes. The beach is nice and quiet, but since it's on the north side of the island the water is really rough and it's windy. So I really wouldn't recommend this rental if you have smaller kids. My sister and her friends arrived first and wanted to start up the bbq before the rest of the family arrived. The propane tank was empty. We called management to get it filled, but it couldn't be done until the next day. So instead, we decided to cook our food in both kitchens. The back kitchen did not have an oven and so we used the kitchen in the front. Unfortunately, the fan in the kitchen where the oven was located did not work. We spent a majority of our time in the back kitchen. The coffee pot was was also broken in the back in the back kitchen. We constantly had a confusing time with the keys. Out of the all the keys we received, only 2 worked (one for the front and one for the back) and sometime during our vacation the back key stopped working all together. Many of the electrical outlets were not working. There was no cable in the front living room that attached the DVD. The front gate was not closing entirely and would stay open or stay ajar despite being fixed once. One night it kept opening and closing and the neighbor approached us to say that it was slamming all night and disturbing him. Management came and fixed it the next day. On the last day we were there the water heater in the back kitchen began leaking. Throughout our trip we were constantly finding ants, spiders and cockroaches, which I can accept at some point since we are on the coast, but this could bother some people. Overall, we got a great deal on this rental, but my family would not stay here again due to all the problems. The property manager did not seem really concerned when we reported everything either.

I stayed here with 6 other friends for 1 week and we had the time of our lives! The house has an amazing location, only a few minutes walk from Paia town (which has some of the best fish tacos on the island in my opinion), and the beach is literally on your back yard. Heaps of room, 2 living areas and kitchens. 5 bedrooms (the sun room can easily double as a bedroom), and breathtaking views. We saw turtles really close to the house most days, and the kitchen was well stocked with utensils and everything we needed. It is quite windy on the beach, and it was not uncommon to wake up to the ocean view dotted with surfers every morning. The beach patio with deck chairs and the fantastic hot tub was a bonus. Cant recommend this place more, if you are looking for beach proximity, views, and a fabulous location, look no further!

Paia Paradise Beach House
Paia Paradise Beach House
Whenever booking holiday homes, I like being able to read other visitors' reviews to help me with my decision. Paia Paradise Beach House did not have any reviews, so I thought I would be the first one to write one. This vacation home is simply awesome. The owner and his agent were easy to work with; they always answered my questions promplty, and the listing and pictures accurately depict the property. My family of 10 people went to Maui for a family function, and this house was more than comfortable for all of us.The house is divided in half, with three bedrooms in the back of the house (1 single bed, 1 queen bed, and 1 king bed), a kitchen, living room, and bathroom. The front half of the house is 2 bedrooms (both w/king size beds and ensuites), a most comfy living area and kitchen. There is a studio on the property which nicely housed the part of our family that has young children (comes w/1 queen bed w/ shower in the bathroom and a small kitchen area) The estate comes with a washer and dryer as well, which we found out on the north shore of Maui turned out to be an awesome bonus. Everything provided in the house is great quality (pots, pans, bedding ect). This property is right on the north shore of Maui in the neat little town of Paia. The front half of the house is oceanfront, and the back half is a mere 30 second walk away down the back alley to the town of Paia. It is windy, but well worth it, as we could get up every morning and watch the surfers AND the giant turtles swimming in Paia bay. Paia bay beach is directly left on the oceanfront side of the house. There is a public path on the ocean side of the property's fence, and access to to the beach is via a steep set of about ten rock steps, but well worth the trip provided caution is used on the steps. It is about a 15-20 min drive to Costco and K-Mart, and a 45 minute drive to Kaanapali beach, We found it well worth the value - it was easy enough for us to drive to one of the awesome beaches on Maui when we needed a hot sun beach day. Access to the property is very private with room to park three cars - although it does require some backing and manoevering skills to get out of the parking area. The beachhouse is also a little hard to find, so make sure you have directions. (only accessable from a back alley). We all loved our stay in Paia, and I would have no issue recommending this property to another vacationer!
