Copper Mountain is where the locals ski in Colorado. This mountain is laid out in such a way that the ski terrain is naturally separated by difficulty. People new to skiing can stick to the west side of the mountain away from overly difficult runs. More advanced skiers can benefit from the peace of mind knowing that they share the east side with like-skilled peers.
Searching for back-country skiing? Copper is the only Colorado ski resort that offers free in-bound CAT skiing (usually around $250 at other resorts).
Not a skier? No problem! Incredible hikes and bikes are just outside your door... literally. You can jump on the Colorado Trail and see some gorgeous nature on foot or on mountain bike.
For all you cyclists, try riding from Copper to Frisco to Breckenridge. Or maybe push yourself further and try the ride to Vail. Trails are paved and in excellent condition for a beautiful, satisfying ride.
Got Kids? Zip-lining, bumper boats, mini golf, skiing, biking, Foosball, two heated swimming pools, sledding, tubing, terrain parks, playgrounds, volleyball... I think they will find something that they like doing.
Or, are the kids obsessed with skiing and snowboarding? If they are, then they may want to check out Woodward at Copper, the first indoor ski and snowboard training facility with trampolines, foam pits, and Snowflex jumps dedicated to terrain park and pipe progression.
The town of Silverthorne (15 minute drive) has outlet shops to appease all the shoppers out there. Stores include: Ann Taylor, Aeropostale, Bath and Body Works, Calvin Klein, Coach, Columbia Sportswear, Eddie Bauer, Famous Footwear, GAP, Gymboree, Izod, JCrew, Jockey, Levi's, Nike, Oshkosh, Pac Sun, Polo Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger, Under Armour, and many more! (whew)
Does shopping scare you? Try fishing. There are gold medal waters all around Summit County. Battle it out with a rainbow trout instead of choosing which pair of shoes to buy at the outlet shops.
Want to try other ski resorts? Vail, Breckenridge, Keystone, A-basin, Beaver Creek and Loveland are all within about a 45 minute drive (or less). Tell your friends back home that you're practically a local because you skied so many different mountains on your trip.
Did someone say food and drink? You will have plenty of good eateries to choose from apres-ski. Choose from sushi, pub food, fine dining, or maybe just catch the game and an incredibly fresh Coors in one of the many bars.
If you find yourself still looking for something to do, just ask a local. You will find that we Coloradans are very friendly and happy to share our beautiful Rocky Mountains with you.
Year Purchased: 2009
About: Born and raised in Colorado, we count our blessings every day that we get to live in such a beautiful place. I'm a teacher, my wife is a nurse/photographer, and our baby girls have their hands full with just being cute little red-heads.
Why Cirque: The Cirque at Copper Mountain is a sight to behold. First off, The Cirque is the only platinum level resort in Copper. Secondly, the surroundings will take your breath away; if you don't believe me, take the 'Rendezvous' lift to get an eyeful of the Ten-Mile Range. It's a life-changing experience to say the least.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo: It may sound cliche, but there is something for everyone when you stay at The Cirque. Not only that, it's not just a stereotypical experience; everything that we've been able to enjoy always feels like a deeply personal experience that was created solely for us. I'd love to tell you exactly what your experience will be like, but I can't. What I can tell you is that the experiences you do have will be magical and unforgettable.
