The Cottage on Sauk Lake is a brand new property! We rebuilt our cottage from the ground up in 2012 and recently completed it this summer. See nice reviews below.
BOOK SUMMER NOW - Stays are Saturday to Saturday.
The Cottage has 2 bedrooms, one with a comfortable queen bed with a view of the lake, the other with a bunk bed set up that includes a desk and dresser. Each room includes a closet for your travel bags and hanging space. There is also an incredible Tempurpedic foldout full sized KING (76 x 80) bed in the great room made by American Leather. This is a brand new couch/comfort sleeper! In fact all the beds and couches are new. The setting in the great room is beautiful with a stone gas fireplace, 40' flat screen, blue-ray player, seating for 6-8, vaulted ceiling with fan and hickory hardwood flooring throughout! The bathroom is a stunning throwback style with black and white tiles, Martha Stewart Designed vanity & large bathtub with cool subway tiling. The kitchen and eating area faces the rear and some of the best views on the lake, including your dock if you brought water toys! All new stainless steal appliances, granite counter tops, cool farm sink, custom cabinets, dishwasher, convection oven, microwave and side by side fridge. Forced air heat in winter, and whole house A/C in summer.
Walking out the back onto the relaxing deck space and 12' wide staircase brings you down to the yard and fire pit and easy access to the dock for fishing or jumping in your boat! Sauk Lake is a very nice lake for all recreational activities such as jet skiing, water skiing, wake boarding, tubing, along with fishing for multiple varieties of fish including crappies, sunnies, perch, walleye, northern & bass. In season we will have a cutting/cleaning board with water so you may clean your fish outside. Winter fishing is also very big on the lake, bring your portable fish house!
High Speed Internet is available with your rental. A user name and password will be provided upon check in. Cable TV with HD local channels is on the new 40' flat-screen - along with a blue-ray player for your DVD or blue-ray movies.
The front of the Cottage has a small porch with chairs to relax in the shade during those hot days!
The Cottage is equipped with a touch pad security lock system. We will provide you with a code to access for your rental period.
The Cottage is perfect for a family of 4-5, or weekends with the girls, snowmobiling/ice fishing weekends, etc.
The Cottage has a driveway with space for parking for 2-3 cars.

We had such a lovely Christmas Holiday at the Sauk Lake cottage! It accomodated us (four adults) just perfectly. We especially loved the fireplace where we cozied up to watch Chrismtas movies and open our holiday gifts. The kitchen was perfect for visiting while cooking our family meals. Brian went out of his way to accomodate our needs, even shopping for firewood for us when we asked him if we could build a fire in the fire pit by the lake. We went walking on the frozen lake and on the golf course across the street. I wish we would have brought cross country skis! There is no doubt that we will return to this cottage in the future. It was a holiday filled with wonderful memories.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, pet owners.

Our family has never stayed in a cabin before, and this was truly a treat for us! Everything is state of the art and brand new. From the hardwood floors and gas fireplace to the granite counters, this little cabin is just perfect for our family of 4. And you could fit even more with the beautiful pull-out couch. I would highly recommend this stay to anyone looking for a nice retreat not too far from the cities. A GEM!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, people with disabilities, sightseeing, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners.

About the owner: My name is Brian Johnson, I grew up in Grand Forks, ND and currently reside in Sauk Centre, MN I am an entrepreneur/business owner that enjoys the water, playing golf, traveling to various VRBO properties & best of all enjoying family time with my 3 children. i like the finer things in life, and want to treat others that way while renting our beautiful cottage. We picked out finishes and furnishings for this property with this in mind, not just thinking of it as a rental and buying cheap stuff - but adding quality products so it can be a place friends, family and vacationers can appreciate and enjoy calling home for their week or so off of real world hustle.
Why the Owner Chose Sauk Centre:
We have family that own property on Sauk Lake and have been vacationing here with them since 2003. So when we decided to take the plunge and purchase a lake home - Sauk Lake and Sauk Center was first on the mind. The property we found is truly incredible. A terrific golf course on one side, beautiful lake views in the back with 3 buildings on an acre was a dream to find. The property includes a main home, a bunk house and the cottage. So many weeks during summer we will be your neighbors to assist with any thing you may need!
Within the first year we realized that the former cottage had to either be remodeled or taken down to rebuild. With the help of a wonderful local builder we designed and built a stunning little cottage with all the character and more than the original built in 1927. I spent the first 1/2 of 2012 traveling up I94 (a short hour and 45 minutes from home) to build out the interior myself. I loved every minute of it, and we hope you love what you see as well and make return trips!
The Unique Benefits at this Cottage:
The Cottage is very close to the water in a quiet peaceful location. It was built with an old time cottage feel in mind - and we think we did a pretty good job hitting that goal. Sitting in the dinette or out on the deck in the morning with your favorite cup of coffee looking out over the peaceful calm morning lake is incredible! The home was built with sound deadening in the walls between the bedrooms and bathroom so it is very quite for those mornings you want to sleep in! It is not a huge cottage, but it is very functional and has everything you need to create wonderful family memories.
