  We just arrived home after 2 wonderful weeks at this beautiful cottage retreat. The hosts were extremely friendly and had some excellent suggestions as far as places to eat and local areas to explore. We loved the peaceful location- we usually stay in Haiku but really enjoyed the drier weather in Olinda and couldn't hear any road noise which was is unusual as far as the places we've stayed at before. We saw some deer on the driveway and some bats among the tall eucalyptus trees at night. The cottage was excellently equipped with everything we needed including everything from coolers, beach chairs and beach towels to dvd's, an idock and a fabulous outdoor hammock. We can't recommend this place enough- we were even greeted with fresh flower leis, chocolates and local Maui cookies! PS. The neighbors' cat was very sweet too!

  My fiancé and I stayed in the cottage for 16 days and were very happy with the place. We love up country and this was perfect for a quiet out of the way location. The only surprises were the "long" dirt driveway into the house and the limited cookware. The beds were wonderful, having the washer and dryer there to use was great and they even had detergent available (although we brought some just in case). Must sees: PAIA- fish market and the North Shore (watch the surfers). Sunrise on the Crater and the Road to Hana. We enjoyed Polo Beach for snorkeling as well as Turtle Town. We would recommend this house to anyone looking for an up country experience. Everyone was very nice...including the neighbors!

We provide guests with the following items in the kitchen: -Baking sheets -Pyrex measuring bowls and dishes -Blender -Rice maker -Electric mixer -All utensils -Juicer -High quality knife set -Non-stick pots/pans as well as a wok -All barbeque utensils -Complete set of ladels, mixing spoons, wine opener, peeler etc -Salad bowl -Mixing bowl -High quality handpainted bowls, mugs and dishes -Complete set of crystal wine glasses -Place mats As well as basic spices, flour etc for baking. If a guest requires anything in addition to these many items, we welcome any requests and are more than happy to provide additional items at any time. Our cottage is located 500 feet from the main road (exactly three minutes drive) along a tree lined driveway. Unlike many vacation rentals on Maui this affords our cottage extreme safety for families with children as well as unparalleled privacy and no road noise. We thank you for staying with us and hope the fresh flowers, chocolates and local gift basket made your stay that much more memorable.

  Thank you for opening up your home to us. It provided a great base for the second half of our Maui holiday- first half was in Kapalua. This house was quite a change from our last place and helped us to experience more of Maui. We loved the trip to Haleakala and would highly recommend that to anyone. We left here at 4:30 and arrived at Haleakala a little before 6am. The sunrise was about 6:50 and we were glad we got there when we did. There are lots of colour changes in that hour. Thanks for everything!

  The house was lovely and very well set up. The owners left flowers, chocolate and some fruit which was very thoughtful. The owners are extremely helpful if you need anything at all. Having a good washer dryer was very nice as we've had some places washer/dryers wreck our clothes. The kitchen was well equipped and the place was very well kept. We had an issue with the garburator/sink leaking and they were down immediately to fix it and even took our recycling for us!! The restaurants in Makawao are also fantastic if you don't feel like cooking...four fabulous restaurants within a 10 minute drive from the house was a real benefit. All in all it was a wonderful experience and I would recommend this property!

  The cottage was wonderful. Well stocked kitchen supplies (could use some spices though). Master bath was awesome! Woods were welcoming and relaxing. Comfy bed and pillows. The town has so much to offer. Great central location. Great people.

  What a great place. So glad we found your cottage- tucked away just outside of Makawao town. We were really impressed at the decor and had everything we needed. Great location too. We had a fantastic bbq on our final night listening to the breeze in the eucalyptus trees. Our kids loved greeting the goats in the pasture every morning- we even saw a baby deer on the driveway. Just brilliant! Thanks again and hope to visit again soon!

  We came to Hawaii to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary and could not have picked a better "sanctuary". We wanted isolation and quiet- the real Hawaiian experience. The amenities were perfect, the surroundings green and lush and everything was easily accessible. Mahalo!

  Words cannot describe how much my family loved staying at the Rainbow Bridge House. The photos do not do the place justice. An amazing setting- we just loved the eucalyptus trees and the privacy and peacefulness of our temporary "retreat". We felt instantly welcomed with local chocolates and a beautiful arrangement of local flowers. The hosts were very friendly and gave us some great tips on the local attractions. We saw a rainbows in the morning and loved watching the stars at night. We'll definitely be back next year.

  Thank you for your hospitality! We had a wonderful time in the cottage and there was plenty of room for all of us. It was the perfect location for hiking, sightseeing and going to the beach. We loved the trail up Olinda Road and seeing peacocks, pheasants and ducks in all the driveways. Your neighbors are very friendly and even stopped to tell jokes to our kids. Thank you again. Y'all have a great place!
