Our cottage sits on two acres directly adjacent to miles of undeveloped jungle. It is an earth-friendly low-environmental impact cottage.

The kitchenette has a solid granite countertop, fridge, propane burners, toaster oven, microwave & coffee maker. Quality Hawaiian dishes, glassware, tableware, pots, pans, propane, etc. are all supplied.
**BEACHES**
These are our favorite of the uncrowded, non-touristy North Shore beaches. Once you've been to these miles of serene uncrowded beaches, going to hotel beaches seems silly :)
- Baby Beach
Great for kids, lap swimmers and beachcombers. Also very scenic.
- Ho’okipa Beach Park
You can watch some of the best windsurfers in the world here. Also has very regular surf breaks.
- Baldwin Cove
Calm cove, great for escaping the wind when the sand is blowing!
- Baldwin Beach Park
A long, sandy beach with plenty of parking, lifeguards and facilities.
- Tavares Beach
Popular with locals. Good surf break, too.
- Kuau Cove aka Beach at Mama’s Fish House
A small tide pool beach. Kids love exploring here.
- Paia Bay
Great for advanced boogie boarders. Also has a good surf break.
- Paia Secret Beach
Secluded and clothing optional.

Lilikoi Jungle Cottage is a quiet, eco-friendly off-grid escape in a very special valley on the North Shore of Maui. You can walk right into the jungle from your private cottage, swim in natural pools and waterfalls, walk, hike or relax at dramatic cliff side ocean vistas, take yoga classes from our neighbors, world renowned yoga teachers, or even experience a guided hike of areas tourists rarely experience from the author of Maui Guide Book.
The kind of folks who will love what we have to offer are active people who enjoy uncrowded beaches, waterfalls, exploring, adventures, hiking, dramatic scenery and peace and quiet - while still having the option to day-trip into the resort areas when the mood calls. This was the perfect, quiet end to our vacation, away from all of the crowded, touristy parts of the island. The cottage is small, but it was just right for my boyfriend and me. He enjoyed relaxing indoors with a breeze coming through the screens, and I walked around the property finding geckos (and spiders) hanging out around the cottage. It's secluded but not a huge drive from nearby towns, so it was easy enough to go get a latte or food. The cottage is a bit closer to the main house than we expected, but otherwise it was everything we'd hoped for. I'd definitely recommend this to couples looking for a getaway, and we'll be back if we return to Maui!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

About the owner: I'm an author and live in another home on the property. I discovered Maui was my soul's long-lost home in the 90's and whenever we came back home to visit, we found this area to be the best home base for our adventures around the island. When we moved to Maui in 2004, we spent three years searching for the perfect place, renting and moving five times to feel out different areas before we found the perfect location in 2007. We have had hundreds of thrilled visitors over these years, and hope to add you as one too!
Why the Owner Chose Haiku:
The location is perfect for our active family of six. We can walk out our door and be swimming in waterfall pools or hiking jungle in minutes. We can drive to a dozen beautiful uncrowded beaches in 15-20 minutes. All the rest of this spectacularly perfect island is an easy reach.
