From the moment we walked in, this cabin exceeded our expectations. It was immaculate, had everything we needed and was so whimsically, yet tastefully decorated we enjoyed exploring every room. Although cozy, with two couples and five children and never felt crowded. The location is central to everything so it was quite convenient. There were many areas to sled around the cabin so those of us who don't ski or snowboard had plenty to do. We would definitely recommend this cabin and are already planning to return next year!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, families with young children.

We stayed at the Forest Chalet from 1-4 Jan 2013. The cabin far exceeded our expectations! There was 7 of us in our party (my wife, 2 daughters and 3 of their friends). Prior to the trip I was a little concerned that the cabin might be too small for our party. Although the cabin is only 1400 sqft, it is arranged in a way that allows for plenty of space for all to enjoy some privacy. The cabin was very comfortable and decorated in a warm and inviting manner. The hot tub was a huge hit for the teenagers and a welcomed relieve from a day in the snow. It is worth mentioning that the cabin was extremely clean and it had all the necessities to make for a very pleasant and enjoyable stay. Overall, this is one of the nicest cabins that I have used for a weekend getaway.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.

I stayed at Forest Chalet in late October. I thought the cabin was larger than it looked online, very comfortable, and the welcome packet was very thorough and helpful. During my stay everything worked like the packet said, and the brand new hot tub was a plus. I spent most of my outdoor time on National Forest trails that were walking distance from the cabin. I would highly recommend this cabin!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.

I've stayed a lot of cabins in Big Bear, lakefronts included, and I think this is my favorite one. I had no idea how much I would enjoy being able to walk to the hiking trails in the National Forest. It's so nice if you love to get out. The cabin itself is fantastic. Well appointed, clean, and tastefully decorated. I should also add that the quality of the furniture is top notch. The log bed is amazing. And of course, to top it off, the hot tub makes this place a 5 star for me. Can't wait to stay here again, such a good deal.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, age 55+, girls getaway, families with young children.

The location is perfect! Close to the National Forest and the slopes as well as centrally located so that the lake and village are 1 mile away. We love the wood accents and beams as well as the built in cabinets and alcoves that make this a true 'mountain home'.
