Best View in Port Angeles: the Bluff House
- Minimum stay:1 night

The Bluff House is the perfect vacation home. The ocean view is incredible, offering both sunrise and sunset vistas, glowing blue water and almost constant wildlife activity. We see eagles, seals, otters, water fowl and even orcas from the spacious deck and myriad windows in this charming house. Look the other direction and the mountains loom above beautiful Port Angeles. A gourmet kitchen, 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a wraparound deck, a spacious great room and accessibility to Olympic National Park, the Discovery Trail and the downtown area make this a perfect getaway from which to explore or just relax. 4 blocks from the Victoria Ferry, 2 blocks from the Discovery Trail, 1 mile from the entrance to the national park and 5 blocks from shopping and restaurants make this so convenient. Your hosts can help with trail and sightseeing information and there will always be some homemade touch to your visit: maybe a jar of jam from our local berries or a coffee cake straight from the oven. Staying here will make your vacation special.

As the last reviewer stated, the pictures of the property do not do it justice. The view is simply remarkable, even for our grey December visit. The property was immaculate and had a great set-up with bathrooms for each of the 3 large to very large bedrooms. The kitchen was absolutely dynamite. You can easily walk on a path by the water to downtown in 5 minutes. This place would be great for a few couples, though I took my family and met a family friend. We have 3 small children, 5, 3, and two who did not want to leave. On Friday, we drove up to Hurricane Ridge, just 17 miles away, and had a family sledding adventure. The kitchen is a foodie's fantasy. Huge and equipped like a 5 star restaurant, we could not wait to go get some vittles to cook. Cindy and her son Matt were incredibly helpful. We would do this trip again in a heartbeat. It's just a couple hours from Seattle, and truly a place that has been touched by the warmth the owners put in the remodel. Do yourself a favor and head put the Bluff house on your getaway list.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, adventure seekers, girls getaway, romantic getaway.

My Wife and I, our two friends and their two children had the absolute best time staying here. I doubt this gushing review will convey just how much we loved it. We had plans to extensively tour the Olympic National Park during our vacation, but instead we spent most of our time right at the home, hanging out on the deck, cooking, eating just enjoying the view. The living room has a big flatscreen TV with cable and Netflix, but we almost never turned it on because the view was better. Have I mentioned that the view is SPETACULAR? The pictures don't even do it justice. The owners (who, they say, built the house with their own hands) were great, and you could tell they loved the house too. It was perfectly clean and it is basically brand new, the bathrooms were luxurious and also brand new. It was fully furnished with surprisingly nice things, and the layout with 3 private suites Plus a huge living/ kitchen area was ideal for us. We could not have asked for a better place to stay. We have already made plans to come back again next year. My only hesitance in writing a good review is that if this place gets popular it may be more difficult for us to get a reservation in the future.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: We didn't realize how nice all of our guests would be - glad you had a great time and hope to see you again on our beautiful peninsula!

This home was perfect for our trip to the Peninsula. We used it as our base to explore Hurricane Ridge, Lake Crescent, and the too long of a drive and back to Neah Bay. The home is newly remodeled with floor to ceiling views of the water and Port Angeles marina. Our party consisted of 2 grandparents, 2 parents, and 2 children and there was lots of space for us to spread out. Additionally, the kitchen is fully stocked for any food preparation needs. For milder weather, the deck would be perfect to watch the ships go by with plenty of chairs. Thank you for opening your home to us and we look forward to returning in the future.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thanks so much for the kind words. Am so glad you enjoyed your visit and hope you can make it back. Thanks again!

Owner info
Year Purchased: 1990
About the owner: An avid hiker and enjoyer of the outdoors, I love this area, it's people and all it has to offer. My husband and I just remodeled this property and just about every inch of it is brand new.
Why the Owner Chose Port Angeles:
We bought this piece because of the amazing view but it was too small at the time for our family. Now that our kids are gone we have doubled the size of the house and made it cozy for when they return with their families.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
The mountain view from the south and the water view from the north make this a unique piece of property. Eagles perch in the tree out front and the water is full of activity all the time. The kitchen has a separate wet bar, everything you need for the discerning chef and beautiful serving pieces to make you feel at home. The lights of the harbor are an enchanting sight at night and in the winter months, nothing is cozier than sitting in the warm front room watching the weather unfold in front of your eyes.
