If you are looking for a tranquil, restful, location for your next vacation, I will be delighted to welcome you to peaceful Kapuna Hollow Bed and Breakfast. My home sits on a lovely hill quite some distance from the nearest neighbor.
The Guest Suite is a lovely, spacious, separate apartment in a four-thousand square foot home, with its own entrance off the shared lanai. It has two comfortable bedrooms, a well-equipped efficiency kitchen, and full bath, with a jacuzzi in the tub. Recent satellite reception has been added. I have a small library of movie titles for loan, and there are many sources for video rentals within a few miles.
The property is over five and one-half, well tended acres. There is little of the urban-suburban feel to the surrounding countryside. Weather permitting, you will be treated to beautiful sunrises; the ocean horizon to the east and north; a gorgeous nearby mountain range to the south... all frequently colored with brilliant rainbows. The views are spectacular, like everything else on our charming island.
From the guest suite, you can look out over beautiful pastureland "until the cows come home" literally. The hundreds of acres off to the east and southeast are home to grazing cattle, horses, many species of birds, and seldom seen wild boar. Occasionally you will see the paniolos (Hawaiian cowboys) ride by herding their cattle or horses.
Beyond the fields is the Pacific Ocean and its horizon that is viewable one-hundred-forty degrees from east-southeast to the far west-northwest. To the south is a very close and beautiful mountain range, that treats us to a kaleidoscope of green shades that move across its valleys and ridges, with the sunrays shining through the overhead clouds.
Few visitors come to Kauai for the nightlife, but it is here. From pleasant, moderately priced, trendy restaurants to four and five star hotels with not-so-moderate prices. Many are very close by. Immensely enjoyable live entertainment can be found most any night of the week. The North Shore venues are a short drive north. The East Shore venues are just a few miles south. Beautiful, sunny Poipu is few more miles south. There are many beaches, waterfalls, botanical gardens, and a famous lighthouse, and much more, again within just a few short miles of Kapuna Hollow BnB.
When I found this site for my retirement home, I was as impressed with the views of the mountains and the distant ocean, as I am sure you will be. It is always very peaceful here. The singing of the birds in the morning hours, as well as their chirping throughout the day, is particularly charming. Come to our beautiful paradise and have a vacation you will not soon forget!
Upon your arrival, I will supply you with your choice of nutritious pastries, juice, coffee, tea, fresh fruit, and hot and/or cold breakfast cereals for the first week of your stay. Guests who stay a week or longer will also receive a complememtary bottle of wine.
Finally, this is also my home. I live here year around, and I will be present to make sure that your stay at Kapuna Hollow BnB is safe, pleasurable, comfortable, and thoroughly enjoyable.

I just came back from another wonderful experience in Kauai. The accomodations were more than adequate, with a scenic vista from all windows. The host is personable and helpful and goes out of his way to make your stay a memorable one. This is my third visit to this "off the beaten track" bed and breakfast, and I am never disappointed. It is within short distances of the many known and "unknown" beaches of the area. The owner can give you some "secret insights" to the less known areas, along with maps and information guides. Enjoy the "ride."

My friend and I had such a great experience at Kapuna Hollow that the day after we returned, my husband and I decided to return later this same year. We can't wait (but unfortunately must do so 'til then)! The location, accommodations, breakfast food, hospitality, and other amenities were all wonderful. Thanks, Gene!

I went to Kauai for peace and quiet and that's exactly what I got! Kapuna B&B was absolutely perfect and I couldn't have asked for a lovelier place. Our host, Gene Taylor was most knowledgeable about the island and directed us to the best beaches and sites. The guest house was comfortable and quite the home away from home. We will definitely be back! Thanks Gene {:o)

Gene, David and I enjoyed staying in your lovely, spacious and fully self contained bungalow. Our 6 1/2 weeks was relaxing, exploring the many beaches only minutes away. Your home is ideally located in the most lush and pristine part of the island. Honelai was magical and great fun with it's splended beach and bay.[Great coffee shop also!!] Thank you Gene for a memorable vacation. We highly recommend your home and hope to come back again soon. We recently enjoyed a three-week stay at the Kapuna Hollow B&B. It was wonderful in every way. The location is quiet and serene. And yet it's just off the highway, and very easy to get to. The house is new, nicely furnished, and immaculate. We don't think there's a more generous or accommodating host than Gene Taylor anywhere. He goes well out of his way to make his guests' stay as enjoyable as possible. We highly recommend the Kapuna Hollow B&B to all.

Mr. Taylor is a gracious host, was quite engaging, and answered all our questions thoroughly. We found places we'd never heard about in the guide books, and ate food we never knew existed, but should be listed under "Heavenly". The accomodations of the guest suite are very classy and comfortable. They were perfect for a family of four. The island decor was lovely and the jacuzzi tub in the bathroom was just the thing to work out the kinks after a grueling hike to Hanakapi'ai. Ask about the local beaches and the best places for dining and dancing. Our stay on the island of Kauai was magnificent, made even more so by the very peaceful and beautiful surroundings of our accomodations. We will be returning. We highly recommend the excellent accomodations at Kapuna Hollow B&B for your visit to Kauai. The Winston Family Macon, GA

I have been extremely fortunate to spend a week in this island paradise, and it is even more beautiful that described. You couldn't ask for a more congenial host or a lovelier setting. The location is very user friendly, and my friend and I look forward to another visit soon.
