Apia house description
Our house is located on the Samoan Island of Upolu, in the village of Saoluafata. If you are looking to completely get away from all the hustle and bustle of your busy life, this is the place for you! Located close to the capital city of Apia, you still have access to modern activities, groceries and hospitals. We would recommend renting a car to fully experience the whole island during your visit. It takes about three hours drive to get from one side to the other - you will experience pristine beaches, friendly natives, expert surfing, snorkeling, eco hikes, fresh water swimming & waterfalls with natural water slides. Visit the site of James Michener's 'Return to Paradise' at the beach of Matareva, starring Gary Cooper - filmed in 1953. Another main attraction is the grave site of Robert Louis Stevenson in the Village of Vailima. Visit the luxurious resort/spa 'Aggie Grey's' on the northwestern end of the island (adjacent to the Int'l airport) where the popular TV series 'Survivor' was filmed.

A peace of paradise
A peace of paradise
We have just had an amazing stay in this beautful spot we were met at the airport at 1am and taken to the house we were a bit nervous that it may not match what we had expected ,but we were surprised at now nice it was. In the morning when we were able to see the ocean out side the door it was complete and perfect setting. On the negative side I would say that there was only the 1, no hot water but with the temperture at 30 most of the time a cool shower was refreshing. The lagoon was always swimable and had an abudance of tropical fish to view snorkelling. We had hired a van , a must ,as it is a bit of a drive back to Apia. Being in a village in amoungst the locals was great .

Year Purchased: 2003
About: I am a direct descendant of the paramount chief of this village. My family has lived here since time began. Listing a 'year purchased' is really telling you what year the house was built. We are very proud to offer this house as a place for all to enjoy.
This is my family's land.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Staying here puts you directly on the beach. This is unique in Samoa, because typically you cannot just pull up to any beach and swim, rather, you must ask the chief permission (he most likely does not speak English) and pay a small fee for beach use. There are many Samoan traditions like this. Also, there are not many islands in existence today that aren't over run by tourism - this is truly a native experience that will change your life.
