Birds & Bees Cottage, as the name implies is a romantic stone cottage with shingle roof trimmed with white gingerbread. It has a king sized 4 poster bed draped in netting, antique furniture, a huge 30' x 8' verandah with a hammock for those afternoon naps. Lovely views across the tropical garden filled with an assortment of flowers and trees with many birds flitting through. There is a palm fringed pool shared with Sapodilla cottage also in the 2 acre garden. Both cottages are very private and peaceful and well separated from each other.

My husband and I rented this lovely cottage for 11 nights and can't say enough about how beautiful the property is and how helpful and kind the owners are. Janie and Geoffrey offered us great suggestions on island restaurants and activities. Their gentle and welcoming demeanour made us feel at home. The cottage exceeded our expectations and was very private. The location is conviently close to a well-known part of the island. A quick drive takes you to beautiful English Harbour with many restaurants to enjoy and take a stroll down in the marina at Nelson's Dockyard. The best beach on the island (Rendezvous Bay) is a 10-15 minute drive - though the road is really quite rocky and really should be driven slowly and carefully. Everyday we enjoyed the open living with birds, doves, hummingbirds and tiny lizards. The cottage was very clean and Janie was always accommodating with ANY of our requests (clean towels etc). If you love nature and beautiful views, this cottage is for you! Thank you Janie and Geoffrey for a wonderful and memorable vacation!Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, adventure seekers, pet owners, age 55+.

We stayed for five days and would absolutely recommend a visit to Spring Hill. The cottage is hidden in a lovely Alice in Wonderland garden, with lots of beautiful plants and flowers, and waking up every morning in the superb four-poster bed to the sunrise shining through the open windows was fantastic. Even though the location was great, you will need a car/scooter to really enjoy the most of the surroundings. Lovely and helpful hosts, three friendly dogs, lots of happy geckos and hummingbirds will be your closest neighbors.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, adventure seekers, girls getaway, age 55+.
Owner response: So glad you enjoyed your holiday in our eco cottage! Do hope we will see you again the next time you sail in.

Staying in this small cottage in the most pristine gardens I have seen in Antigua was an absolute joy. The cottage provided everything I needed. Clean, orderly, great use of space and of course relaxing. Spending time here truly inspired me to be in nature even more than I already do. I felt so comfortable and at ease the whole time. So much gratitude for the warm welcome and lovely stay.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.
Owner response: Thank you for your enthusiasm - it was lovely meeting you, and I do hope you will come back to stay again another time.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 1969
About the owner: I sailed into English Harbour in 1967 and fell in love with the island. I built my house in 1969 in the old colonial style, and later built a cottage for my mother, and much later a small guest cottage. Unfortunately my husband and I lost our pensions to a very bad investment, and now I am renting out both cottages. My husband and I are both keen sailors, riders (I started the Springhill Riding Club just nearby in 1987) We love our three dogs and our 2 acre garden which we have filled with indigenous flowering plants and trees.
Why the Owner Chose Falmouth Harbour:
We love Falmouth for its peaceful green location, it feels a long way from everywhere, but is only 5 minutes drive to lots of activities and night life - the best of both worlds.
The Unique Benefits at this Cottage:
Birds & Bees (we have had several engagements happen here!) is peaceful and quiet and yet near so many lively bars, restaurants, etc. There is a Mediterranean port feeling to the Yacht Club Marina with its coffee bars & boutiques and mega yachts, and yet it is only a few minutes away! You can spend the day by the pool, swinging in a hammock or at the beach, and at night enjoy a delicious dinner and dancing under the stars in one of the many restaurants in the Harbour.
