We arrived in Barbados, hired a fun car (Mini-Moke), and followed the excellent directions provided by the owner of Turtles. We were met at Turtles by the manager Anita, she showed us around the villa and told us where everything was. The villa was clean and spacious, having three good sized double bedrooms, and two bathrooms with walk in showers, it was very well equiped and had everything we could wish for, a home from home. There were sun beds for the beach, parasols, beach mats, a cool box and beach towels to name but a few. Anita assured us that if we needed anything she would help us, she owned a cafe in Holetown called Carizma with her husband Dave, so we could easily contact her if needed, or we could contact her by telephone using the telephone in the villa. We visited lots of tourist attractions, our favourite being Harrisons Cave, which was reasonably priced, we also visited Earthworks which we found to be quite expensive, although the little cafe was lovely. Although we had hired a car, we did catch a bus into Bridgetown, for $2, about 60p, this was great fun and very entertaining. Sometimes we ate in the villa, we favoured Mr. Vics Restaurent, although we did have a lovely meal at Carizma's Tapas evening, where we were entertained with a local band, in beautiful surroundings. We would reccomend Barbados for its very friendly people and the lovely villa Turtles.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Owners description and information was accurate and up to date. At first viewing the actual street location was a surprise as the villa is in a typical 'bajan street' neighhbourhood. The local people were very friendly and gave helpful advice regarding travel, beaches and the area. The villa is spacious but has a small garden, is well maintained, very clean and comfortable. The owners local service manager (Anita and Dave) were available and gave very good attention to our arrival and settling in. Local beaches were excellant and readily accessible. Local resaurants including Daphne's, Zaccios, Just Grillin', Bubba's, The Fish Pot and The Cliff were all tried and enjoyed. Naniki on the East coast did a good Sunday buffet, with music and is in a beautiful location. We enjoyed the Oistins 'Friday night experience' and visits to Bridgetown, St Nicholas Abbey and Sunbury Plantation House contributed to a 'great holiday experience' We were a group of sixty year olds who were visiting Barbados for the first time. We would all return to the same location and beautiful beaches. The only downside is the cost of eating out. Although, with thought, value could be had at Just Grillin and the Roti Hut and perhaps doing a bit more eating in. However, we are now saving up to ensure another night at The Cliff!!!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

- spacious - clean - great location - the balcony was amazing, we spent almost every night there, talking, dancing and drinking! - the house has everything you need! - Internet speed was remarkable for the Caribean! - I don't want to recommend it, because I want to be sure I can have availability when we return! It was an amazing vacation, thank to the owners and Anita!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

My husband and I stayed at 'Turtles' in April / May 2011 and recommend this wonderful, suberbly equipped villa without hesitation. Every single thing you could wish for during your stay has been thought of, from hairdryers to beach chairs to wi-fi to ceiling fans to a cool box. It is simply the best equipped villa we have ever stayed in ! The spacious balcony is a real bonus with its large dining table and sofas for chilling out. The lounge, kitchen and bedrooms are all beautifully appointed, the bathrooms are well fitted and efficient and the kitchen is extremely well equipped with high quality appliances. The villa is well situated for exploring the charming island of Barbados with many excellent restaurants within easy striking distance and Paynes Bay with its golden beach is a mere 5 to 10 minutes walk away (if you take the quaint short-cut through the houses and across the car park !). There are other pleasant beaches along the west coast within easy reach by car, some with water sports. The villa benefits from the services of a cleaner, a gardener (a real character !) and a wonderful couple who act as caretakers and who are both helpful and informative. There is great shopping on the island and many places to visit, including the more dramatic beaches of the east Atlantic coast. We particularly loved Hunte's Gardens and St.Nicholas Abbey. If you want class and comfort, this is the villa for you !Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

A delightful villa, spotlessly clean and a perfect home from which to enjoy the Barbados experience. "Turtles" is both spacious and well-equipped and provides every aminity that you would need for a relaxing holiday in the sun. It is positioned in a friendly village setting a few minutes walk from Sandy Lane and the beautiful white sands at Paynes Bay. We hired a car for exporing the island and "Turtles" provided a perfect base. A 5 minute car drive will take you into Holetown where there is a range of friendly restaraunts, or conversely, why not eat in? The kitchen is well equipped and we dined on the spacious balcony, enjoying the scents of the garden on the evening breeze - much welcomed afer the heat of the day. Barbados is an infectious holiday location. There is much to see and do, yet it is a perfect location for unwinding. You are soon drawn into the Carribean pace of life and the relaxed and friendly outlook of the islanders. Driving on the inland roads is an absolute joy. Oh, and dont miss the opportunity for a boat ride to see the homes of the stars and to swim with the real Turtles. In summary, a whole-hearted reccommendation - Just book-it!Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

A truly superb villa in an excellent location just 5 minutes from the quiet, white sandy beach at Paynes Bay. It is very well equiped from hairdryers to beach chairs & shades. We stayed in March 2011 with all our family including grandchildren to celebrate my 60th. Everyone is looking forward to the next time they can go! We hired a minivan for the holiday and also used the very regular bus service to & from Holetown (& other places) in the evenings when eating out. It only costs BDS $2 each way how ever far you travel. We have been to the West Coast of Barbados several times but enjoyed our stay at Turtles far more than a hotel. Don't hestitate just go & see for yourselves!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Wow - what a find! A really beautiful villa and so close to the sea. We cannot get over how spacious and well equipped this house was; crockery, cutlery, hair dryers, towels, chairs - everything you could want, with three huge bedrooms and a truly amazing balcony. Plus the beautiful beach is only a 5-10 minute walk away. We had a fabulous, relaxing week here in February 2011 including swimming with the turtles and eating catches of the day at the lovely local restaurants. We really hope to visit Barbados again soon and will not look for anywhere else to stay. We can't recommend 'Turtles' highly enough and feel very lucky to have found it. Thank you very much, Laura & Gareth FlynnRecommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Turtles is ideally located, very well-appointed, clean, and is managed by a wonderful couple and a maid who is a very sweet person and a meticulous worker. The neighbors were very friendly and the villa was only a 5 minute walk to the beach. The kitchen is equipped with everything a gourmet cook could use, and there were so many toys for the beach (chairs, chaise lounges, boogie board, beach towels, umbrella, cooler...) The beach is beautiful and it is easy to walk to restaurants in Holetown during low tide (Zacchios, Beach House...) - we even walked to Ju Ju's Beach Bar (fabulous fish) just north of the Fairmont Royal Pavilion Resort. We had friends and family visit us at Turtles and they loved it. The owners were very friendly and concerned with our comfort and enjoyment of the villa. We would definitely book another holiday at Turtles - it was like being at home with much nicer weather!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We stayed at Turtles Villa in October 2010 and had a wonderful stay. The property was immaculately clean and is tastefully decorated throughout. The balcony/veranda is a fantastic outdoor space for eating and relaxing in the evening with a drink. We had no problems during our visit but there is somebody resident on the island should anything arise. The kitchen is fully equipped and also includes a washing machine and dryer which is essential for beach towels. The bedrooms benefit from air conditioning which makes sleeping very comfortable. A bonus is the wireless internet and TV which is not common in Barbados. The location is convenient for the beach and shops including a very large and well stocked supermarket. The villa is also convenient for a variety of restaurants and beach bars. We will be booking again and our grown up children will also be booking in the near future.
