Everything was perfect, EXCEPT, all adult beds were uncomfortable and need to be upgraded which was the only disappointment and we have recommended to the owner that they be replaced. The view is unsurpassed and all amenities are exceptional. There are stairs to get to the front door and 13 stairs to the downstairs rooms and beach access. There was a gate available for toddlers safety from the stairs. House was immaculate and decorated very well.Owner response: Dear Eileen, Thank you again for staying at our home on the water in San Diego. We appreciate your positive comments abut the cleanliness of our home, the fabulous view of the water from our 12-seat dining room table, and how well our house was furnished and stocked. We are sorry that you were not happy with our bedding throughout our home. You are the first guest in nine (9) years to complain about the comfort of our beds. We wish you would have notified us of your discomfort after the first night you slept on the beds. We could have maybe changed out the mattresses for you and your family. We hope you will consider staying at our home again. Noel & Linda

We really did love your place and sure wish it was available for the July 8th wedding. If something happens be sure to let us know. We've made a deal with the Best Western in San Diego for a block of rooms but I'd gladly cancel those plans. We'll keep your card and give you a call the next time we come to San Diego. We'll tell our friends too. Thanks, PattyDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

The house "on the Riviera" certainly met our needs; while only 4 bedrooms, there was ample sleeping accommodations (including pullouts & futons) to ensure that even with 8 guys (we are all Canadians from the Vancouver BC area), there was enough room to spread out. It was a pleasure to wake up each morning and have a coffee on the deck and in the afternoon after golf have a beer on the deck ! We were very fortunate to hit a great weather window; perfect for our 6 rounds of golf with a Chargers game sandwiched in...Chargers win! While we have not yet repeated a location for our golf trips south; San Diego would be a top consideration of places to return to and we all agree we would not have to spend too much time figuring out where we would want to stay ! Thanks again. PS The pie was a great touch; we bought some ice cream and made it disappear fairly quickly (we had passed on dessert after ribs at Phil's that night - great recommendation by the way).Did you find this review helpful? I was impressed with what I saw online before we arrived, but it was even better in person!!!! We brought our youth group high school seniors as a reward for their hard work. The view from the balconies were breathtaking!! It was so quiet each morning - no noise from the city, cars, seagulls no beach vendors!!! The home was well equipped with kitchen supplies and extremely clean. We even went sailing (very inexpensive) right on the bay!! Noel was extremely accommodating and being right on the beach and having bicycles available for us to use was a bonus! Thank you so much for a peaceful mini-vacation -- our high school seniors will remember this trip forever!!! (and the chaperones too!) BarbDid you find this review helpful? When attending a conderence in San Diego, don't stay in the stuffy hotel, check out the Riveria property. This place is EVERYTHING the owner says it is! Memories will abound. Park the car, get on the bikes and peddle away. One word of warning though. It is extremely hard to put back on your suit and head back to the conference. (4th visit for us, recommend to everyone)Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

This house is the perfect location! The house had everything we needed to host a reunion. We had children ranging in age from 1 to 14 and they loved being right on the beach, playing in the sand, playing volleyball and walking to the playground.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, families with young children.

Noel was so helpful in getting us checked in a settled in. The place was immaculate and had all the amenities, including dishes, utensils, and beach toys for kids! It's a perfect location for families: a quick drive to SeaWorld, San Diego Zoo (you could even walk to SeaWorld, if you wanted), grocery stores, restaurants. You're literally right on the bay (playing in the sand was the kid's favorite thing). You're not too far from highway access for easy routes to Safari Park and LegoLand. Noel was already really prompt with the refund. And it came via credit card credit, so I didn't have to make a trip to the bank.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children.

Noel & Linda, Just wanted to send our thanks to you for a wonderful experience at the beach house. Everything we needed was taken care of, and the home met our needs completely. The pie was such a thoughtful touch, too! We had a great time and will be sure to recommend your properties to family and friends. Thanks again! Nathan & FriendsDid you find this review helpful? Our group of 6 stayed at this beautiful bayfront home in February 2009 for 5 nights. We had done a lot of research to find the perfect rental house, and it paid off: the house was ideally located as we visited SeaWorld, LegoLand, the zoo, Coronado, Old Town, Mission Valley, Pacific Beach and several other destinations. Noel & Linda's book of maps and directions was very handy, and we appreciated that we had off-street parking for our two (small) rental cars. The house was clean upon arrival and we loved the layout - especially that each of the kids had their own bedroom, and we enjoyed sitting on the balconies, watching roller-bladers and joggers on the boardwalk below. We used the grill, played with the beach toys, and took the bikes out for a spin on the boardwalk. Noel greeted us when we got to the house and later delivered an apple pie. He provided good customer service, calling us upon our arrival at the airport and later sending his handyman to the house when we discovered there was no working smoke detector upstairs (a safety concern since one of the kids was sleeping in the upstairs bedroom). We noticed during our stay that the house could stand a little maintenance - the toilet in the master bathroom didn't flush well, the light in the laundry room flickered like it had bad wiring, there were a few ants in the kitchen, and the oven took an eon to heat up for pizza - but these were minor issues that did not detract from our overall experience. We would definitely recommend Noel and Linda's house "on the riviera", and we hope to return soon!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Location
Owner info
About the owner: Noel is a native of San Diego & Linda migrated to San Diego in 1978. Both have had long careers in the real estate industry. They own and manage several properties throughout San Diego, with this property being their only vacation rental home. We pride ourselves on being hands-on owner/managers. We actually meet and greet our guests upon their arrival. We live close by the property, and have a full-time maintenance person available to handle any unforeseen situation that may arise during your visit. When we decided to offer a vacation home we made a conscience effort to stock our home completely, from the kitchen to the linens, to the beach and recreational equipment. We wanted our guests to be able to not have to worry about packing extra linens, bicycles, beach chairs, etc.
Why the Owner Chose Mission Beach:
This house has a great location on one of the cleanest beaches in San Diego. The house has a layout that works well for families or groups of individuals. The fenced-in back yard is a nice play area for small children, and the two balconies overlooking the beach allow grandparents to sit and watch the children play on the beach.
Our home is centrally located to all San Diego has to offer. We are only a 15 minute ride from the airport, too.
We want our guests to experience everything this home has to offer along with everything San Diego has to offer.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
When you walk in the front door you are immediately greeted with the most amazing view of the bay and beach.
Our guests tend to compliment us on how well stocked the house is, the location to all, the beautiful sunsets, views, and most of all the dining room table that seats 12, faces west, and overlooks the water. Everyone loves to sit there and share meals with one of the best views in all of San Diego.
Guests also like the layout of the house. There are no common walls between any of the sleeping rooms. The two family rooms, are spacious and roomy. They really love the fact that you can walk out the back gate and step right onto the sand and boardwalk.
Guests enjoy the bicycles we provide for their use. They like to ride them on the boardwalk that will take them about eight miles all around Mission Bay, Mission Beach, and Belmont Park.
You cannot beat this location!
