The amazing Mt. Baker Big Buck Lodge was our extended family's early Christmas present. This roomy, cozy, and well-stocked house provided comfort and fun for all ten adults and three children in our group. We had the whole place to ourselves, and the apartment was perfect for our young couple with a baby in her portable crib. From the moment we entered the woodsy gated community, our enjoyment began. The neighborhood is quiet and lovely, and everyone smiles and waves. To our delight, we walked in the house and found the living room and kitchen fully decked out for Christmas, including a decorated tree! We immediately felt at home! We could've left our games and movies at home because there were PLENTY to choose from. During our stay, the area experienced record snowfall which we fully enjoyed! There's a forest service road just a short distance up the mountain that offered the perfect snowy playground for sledding, snowshoeing, and making a GIANT snowball. In addition to the snow toys we brought, the toboggans and snowshoes at the house made it fun for everyone. One day, when we went exploring down a side road near the river, we were amazed by the sight of countless bald eagles feasting on spawning salmon. Another day, part of our group ventured out to the Italian restaurant and bakery in the nearby town and came back raving about the food. Pat and Sharon were incredibly helpful and attentive and even called to see if we needed anything. Our group is already talking about plans for a return trip.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

What a wonderful place to stay! We had a full house with 10 people but it never felt crowded. Having the main house and the apartment gave us two kitchens and made preparing meals so much easier. The location was great, close to Mt Baker and just outside the little town of Glacier, walking distance to Chair 9 for good food and a happening bar. After a long day of skiing it was tough to choose between the sauna and the hot tub... I recommend going in both! Can't wait to come back!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing.

My wife and I spent Thanksgiving weekend with relatives in this wonderful lodge. It was an extremely pleasant experience. The lodge was very clean and well maintained. Although it is spacious, it provided a cozy atmosphere. I would compare the amenities to the nicest condos in which I have stayed.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.

This is the perfect cabin for families looking for a large and spacious cabin to rent! Summer, fall, spring, or winter there is plenty of room and activities for the whole family. On arrival the cabin was clean and inviting. The kitchen was large and perfect for family dining. With enough space for all the kids to spread out, we were able to relax on the deck in the sun with gorgous views of the mountains. I would highly recommend this for one or two families looking for a large cabin to relax and get away from the city life. Within walking distance to the park, pond, and river there was plenty to explore. Our family favorite was pizza at Chair 9. For a more intimate dinner, we had a date at Milano's for wonderful italian food! So much to do and not enough time. We will be back for more this winter!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

This beautiful cabin is large, spacious and comfortable! We hosted a family reunion up at Mt. Baker this past summer and we were able to comfortably sleep 3 families which included a total of 6 children. The atmosphere is very inviting with custom woodwork and design throughout the cabin. The "Mother-In-Law" suite was an added bonus with the extra kitchen and cooking space for large family gatherings. We were very pleased with the cleanliness inside and out. The deck is beautiful and convenient for BBQ dinner's and morning coffee! We were impressed with how close the cabin was to Mt. Baker Ski Area and plan to revisit the place this winter. I highly recommend this beautiful mountain lodge for both your summer and winter outings!Recommended for: People with disabilities, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2004
About the owner: We are lifelong Snohomish County, Washington residents, where we raised our son and daughter. We have always spent our time outside, either skiing, hiking, boating, or cycling. We love Washington and all the outdoor activities.
Why the Owner Chose Mount Baker:
We skiied at Mt. Baker for years before we purchased our cabin. So we knew how incredible the skiing is, and how short the lift lines are! We thought we were purchasing a ski/snowboard cabin, but we enjoy the hiking and biking and the beautiful spring, summer and fall mountains just as much.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
Our cabin is special because it is big enough for our family and their friends all at one time. The outside deck is a favorite for parties and BBQ's both in the summer and winter. The firepit is nice, because everyone loves a campfire, both young and old. And relaxing in the sauna or hot tub after all the outdoor activities Mt. Baker has to offer is a great way to end the day.
