Welcome to Paradise. Set in a secluded, wooded location within walking distance of Lake Josephine on beautiful Anderson Island, Whispering Pines is a spacious and private two bedroom, one bath home.
Rustic in style, the large living room has a Schrader woodstove and lots of comfortable seating, with room to play games, watch movies, or just relax and look out the picture windows on either side. You can also enjoy the 377 square foot back deck with seating for 12.
Whispering Pines has been designed to appeal to all of your senses. The large & sunny, gourmet kitchen is fully equipped, including a bread machine and mixes. Gaze through the kitchen's large bay window to the back deck and the frequent sight of a doe and her fawns walking through. Enjoy the owner's eclectic touches through-out the house, from the silver wire and polished stone window art to the interesting collection of books to read: Westerns, mysteries, sci-fi mixed with Doonesbury and Dilbert. The extensive video & DVD collection ranges from Classics to Indiana Jones to The Three Stooges.
In the summer months, the back deck is a wonderful spot to entertain with it's propane grill and wrought iron dining set. You are welcome to relax with a book in the sitting area under the trees at the other end of the deck. On cold days make soup in the Crock pot and settle down in front of the wood stove to watch movies or play games.
Coziness and an attention to detail together with the serene wooded setting make Whispering Pines a favorite choice for families, couples or honeymooners who want a romantic getaway.

Just wanted to drop a note and thank You again for letting us stay at the Cabin. We had a wonderful stay. The only thing that would have made it better, was to have more time. We got up early Sunday am to enjoy the Hot Tub and shared the crisp morning air with a large doe and her fawn. They had no fear of us at all as they wandered around the yard eating the left over birdseed. Once we finally pulled ourselves out of the tub, we took off for the beach. We walked one of the trails down, about a half mile, then over the boardwalk to the secluded beach. Reachable only by the trail or Kayak, it was beautiful, quiet and serene. It was so hard to believe that our hectic life was just a ferry ride away... and unfortunatly waiting. We are so looking forward to our next trip , and hope that we will be able to stay here again. We have rented many Cabins/Homes thru VRBO , but I must say with all honesty, we have never found one better maintained or welcoming. Thanks again. A very quaint cabin in a peaceful setting with nice amenities. We especially enjoyed the deck off the back with the BBQ and hot tub. We would stay here again and recommend it to our friends and family. The owner was also very accommodating.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 4/5

Dean & Ruth Ann;Well, I finally cleared off my desk enough to find the Whispering Pines brochure that I left out to remind myself to write you. When we stayed at your place on July 9th & 10th, we rushed out the door at the last minute, deciding to take an earlier ferrythan originally planned. To that end, we did not write in your book and leave our thanks and comments. That is not like us, and I would like to say now that we not only thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, but we will assuredly be back, perhaps with friendsthe next time. Feeding the birds and deer and generally enjoying an island that appears, at least, fairly unspoiled, was second onlyto the fresh bread and the really excellent hot tub. We have tubbed for years until recently when we sold our house and the tub with it.We are planning on building and your style hot tub will be in the budget…at the top of the list. Thanks to Barbara, again, for coming out so lateto help us with the instructions that for some reason mystified us.You really seemed to think of everything, and your home provided us with a great escape. Thanks again; Jer & Dode H.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0
