'Carolina Dawn' is a comfortably furnished and fully equipped oceanfront duplex (East side) steps from the beautiful sandy beaches and crystal clear waters of Emerald Isle, one of the most family friendly beaches in the Southeast. It sleeps 11 people and is equipped with free wifi, cable tv, and local phone service. There are 2 Oceanfront Master Suites with King sized beds and bathrooms. A third Oceanfront room has a Queen sized bed. The two other rooms offer views of the Sound. One has a queen sized bed. The other has a full sized bed and a twin bed, perfect for kids. The kitchen is fully stocked and offers a great view of the ocean as you cook. The dining room table seats 8 and the oversized bar seats 4. There's a gas grill in the carport closet along with plenty of boogie boards, sand toys, beach chairs and more. A private, spray off area and outdoor shower make clean-up easy. Well-behaved dogs welcome with a $75 non-refundable deposit (per dog, depending on size). Other amenities include flat screen tvs, DVD players, a sound system with outdoor speakers and ipod hook-up. Linens (sheets and bath towels) are provided with rental during the Prime Summer Season. Linens provided during the rest of the year for $75.

We stayed for a long weekend to get away from everything and spend a good time with friends. This is definatly the place to go, it truly is a "home away from home". The place was very clean, the owners are very easy to deal with and respond very quickly to calls and emails. We took our 2 year old Great Dane with us who loved to run on the beach. FYI, Emerald Isle has a strict leash law, which I had to find out the hard way (only got a warning). Another family rented the other side of the house (not owned by the same renters) and came over to view our rental. They were very impressed with the inside and said that this side of the house was nicer than their side. The house is huge and provides lots of space. I can't wait to rent this place next year again. Thank you Hale family for letting us stay at your amazing rental.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Rented the house for a wedding that a group of us from Michigan were attending. Everything was as described and in great shape. 7 of us stayed very comfortably. The owners were excellent with communication and answering any questions we had. The beach in front of the house is fantastic, great for swimming and walking along. I truely have no complaints and would recommend to anyone looking for a clean house on Emerald Isle. I think it is great for a group of adults or a couple families with kids as well.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, families with teenagers, families with young children.

Very nice house and great location. Owners were terrific to deal with - kept in touch and responded quickly to our questions. We've stayed in dozens of houses over the years and the two things that make me know the owners pay attention to the details that make you comfortable - nightlights and lots of hooks for hanging towels - scored in both cases here! Weather wasn't great but we enjoyed the aquarium and the view from the decks.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children.

We were thrilled with our weekend away that we had at Carolina Dawn. The house was 3 levels with balconies on each level for the perfect view of the ocean. The layout of the house was great: there were bedrooms and bathrooms on each floor, and 2 of the bedrooms had balconies which were perfect for morning coffee or evening relaxing. The house was decorated very nicely and felt like a home away from home. The owners were great to work with and were there to answer any questions that we had. We will definitely be coming back to Carolina Dawn!Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

A group of us friends meet every year the first weekend in March. This year we decided not to go "commercial" ( Myrtle Beach) and after staying at Carolina Dawn, will never go anywhere else. This house graciously accommodated 10 adults (& 1 furry child). We immediately felt at home. Not to mention the beautiful sunrise and decks from each level. We feel in love with Carolina DawnRecommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, families with young children, girls getaway.

About the owner: We live in Raleigh and enjoyed Carolina Dawn for many years before deciding to rent it a few years ago. We've filled it with artwork that we love of local beach scenes, mostly by Beaufort Artist Alan Cheek. We've also tried to make it as comfortable and convenient as possible for families.
Why the Owner Chose Emerald Isle:
You can't beat the views and the easy access to the beach from our location. Just walk out the back door and down the boardwalk and you're there. Our stretch of beach never seems crowded and there's easy access to shopping, restaurants, entertainment and more.

We have a dog who's a member of our family so we know how nice it can be to bring the dog along on vacation. That's why we consider requests for responsible dog owners to bring their well behaved dog to Carolina Dawn.
