Cross Village house description
Natural materials are used throughout with mother nature and the out of doors in mind. This 3000 sq ft. Beach house was recently built with lake Michigan views and access in mind.
A gourmet kitchen with top-end stainless steel appliances overlooks the lake across one of the many decks surrounding the house.
Play board games, watch the satellite TV in the living room or retire to the library to enjoy a good book.
Wireless internet is available throughout the house. An open floor plan includes a spacious living room and an attached wood paneled library with fireplace.
There are four bedrooms:,
Master bedroom with en suite bathroom which has a whirlpool bath and body spray shower.
Bedroom with California king bed.
Bedroom with bunk bed which has full and twin size mattresses.
Downstairs bedroom with a full size bed.
All of the bedrooms and bathrooms are uniquely decorated.
There are a total of four bathrooms, three with showers, two of which have body spray showers.
Kids will love this house. The lower level has a playroom with air hockey table, Foosball, and TV for video games.
All materials used in the construction of this house were used with comfort and elegance in mind, granite counter tops, imported Italian tile, cherry, oak, cedar, and pine woods have been used abundantly throughout the house to convey a sense of natural warmth and serene elegance. The house is surrounded by decks and balconies to insure an interaction with the beauty of the area with privacy in mind.
To enjoy mother nature up close and personal or do nothing but relax and enjoy the environment, this house allows you to do either in complete comfort.
Every room guarantees a picture postcard view of islands, lighthouses, dunes, wildlife, and award winning sunsets and sunrises. The beauty of this house is that you will not feel cramped by your surroundings. You can be either fully engaged or spend quiet time alone, whichever you choose you will have the space you require. Kids especially will enjoy this house for the whimsical and entertaining features inside and out. The beach area in front of the house is unarguably the best beach in the state for what it offers and what it doesn't. The sand is perfect without rocks, the beach is large enough to keep an eye on the kids, the water is crystal clear with a very gradual descent, all with no crowds.
The cross village area has quickly arrived as a destination for discerning guests who do not require the experience of being 'in-town', but who would rather enjoy the up north experience at their own pace. All of the family attractions such as restaurants, cinemas, ice cream, and putt putt golf, are within a half hour drive away in Mackinaw City, Harbor Springs or Petoskey. However the very important amenity your privacy and a relaxed atmosphere in nature, are at your feet.

This was our 4th year at "Solstice" & it's fantastic! Lovely summer home, clean & well equiped. Fantastic beach. Nice quiet area, but with lots to do. The one problem we had was handled promptly & graciously.

Owner response: We have been very fortunate to have truly nice, thoughtful people as our guests. I think the care and forethought that goes into preparing our beach house is reflected back by the guests who enjoy it so much. At times contingencies and problems do arise, and when you have guests who are understanding it makes the job of immediately responding to the problem much easier.
Beautiful Cross Village Lake Home
Beautiful Cross Village Lake Home
The home is absolutely beautiful and is in a very tranquil, relaxing setting. It was very clean, well-equipped, and beautifully maintained. The beach is gorgeous.Ten of us stayed and we loved it. The owner was very helpful leading up to and through our stay. Though there was enough room for all of us, we all agreed that it was more suited for 8 when it came to the sleeping situation. Leg's Inn, which is quite close is a nice place to dine, and Mackinaw City is a very reasonable distance. What a great place to stay to escape the daily grind, to relax, and to connect with those you are with!

The house is advertized as "Luxury Home on Pristine Lake Michigan Beachfront ". This is the best description I can think of for this house. We arrived to a clean, beautiful, and ready to relax house. There are 2 bedrooms with shared bathroom upstairs at one end of the house and a sitting area. The other end of the upstairs has a large master suite, en suite bath with 2 sinks, and a large closet. There is a bedroom downstairs with a 3/4 bathroom. Powder room and nice large laundry room on main floor. I loved the kitchen. I cooked and baked so much...actually gained 4 lbs...lol...looking out the kitchen is a large window and you can see the lake and it is beautiful. The house is built on the dunes and actually the road the house is on is built in the dunes. So in front of the house or back, you have a beautiful view!! All bedrooms have a balcony. Sitting room upstairs has a balcony. Library has a balcony...yes, there are a lot of balconies!! We were there over Mother's Day weekend and the weekend after that. It was cold, but we still had a wonderful relaxing time. It's a nice short walk to the beach and it is the nicest beach I have seen on Lake Michigan. Because we were there earlier in the season, we had no neighbors. However, even with neighbors, the houses are built in such a way that you have so much privacy...it's difficult to put into words. Water pressure in the Master and Main Floor bath had SUPER good water pressure and so did the kitchen. The other bathroom upstairs was more of regular pressure. Nicely decorated. The lady who takes care of the property up north was extremely helpful and responded quickly to all our questions. Sandy and Kevin were so nice and also quickly answered any questions or requests we had prior to our visit. Excellant resturants in Harbor Springs, MacKinac City and Petosky. A small gas station/convience store in Cross Village. More shopping in Petosky with IGA, Meijers and Walmart. I would recommend this property for your next holiday. We hope to return again next year.

Owner response: It so very rewarding to have guests enjoy the house and the pristine beach. It's nice to hear that the kitchen was functional for our guests even to the point of allowing them to bake. I'm glad our guests were able to use and enjoy the house to the fullest extent.

About the owner: We 'discovered' the area a few years ago after traveling throughout the 'gold coast' of Michigan. We have always felt that northern Michigan should be a respite from the crowds and noise of even the smallest city or even neighborhoods. With that in mind a house on a rock-less beach in a pristine area of the state away from the crowds was what we sought. The search led us to Sturgeon Bay, and so we hope it has led you to to the best of pure Michigan. We have grown up in Michigan and have traveled extensively throughout the state looking for that 'perfect spot'. We think we have found the best of all worlds, a perfect sandy beach, the tunnel of trees, the privacy of Sturgeon Bay, yet close enough to Harbor Springs, Petoskey, and Mackinaw to provide some 'in-town' experiences without the traffic and crowds out of your back door.
Why the Owner Chose Cross Village:
Great emphasis has been placed with making our guests comfortable, which to us means peace and privacy. This property is not 'in town', so distractions associated with being close to a major highway are not present. The beach is what you see in travel magazines and ads about Lake Michigan shorelines, it will not disappoint you with it's tranquil beauty. We truly hope and strive to develop relationships with our guests to insure repeat friends. This will eventually allow us to personalize the house in a manner to give our guests the upmost enjoyment.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
The very best part of this location is the views out of both the beach side of the house and the views back behind the house to the dunes and woods. Coffee in the morning on any one of the many decks or a glass of wine at sunset are truly great relaxing experiences.
