The Arrow C: the Ultimate Quiet Getaway
- Minimum stay:3-7 nights
- Internet:Yes
- Pets allowed:No
- Wheel chair accessible:No
This luxury mountain home was completed fall 2012. It has brand new everything with all the amenities! Designed with the outdoor nature lover in mind, we have over 1000 sq. ft of covered porch with a large fireplace. You will not want to come inside!
But if you do, you'll find a gourmet kitchen with Thermador and Bosch stainless steel appliances, granite countertops, 2 sinks, and completely equipped with everything the most discerning chef needs. We have 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms on the main level. Both have custom tile showers and granite countertops. One outfitted with a king bed, the other a queen.
Upstairs is a loft with an attached bunk room and another large tile bath with garden tub/shower combo. The bunk room is separated from the loft with a curtained doorway, has 2 queen beds, and is a favorite of our guests.
There are 2 flat screen TV's with DirecTV; one in the living room, one in the master.
The location is remote yet convenient. We are at the end of the road, so there is no traffic. You have the privacy of a totally wooded retreat yet you are only minutes to Boone or West Jefferson. Snow skiing is only 30 minutes away, river rafting 15 minutes. The parkway is great for biking, and we have a detailed hiking trail guidebook available for you to select your hike for the day. It is an ideal romantic getaway or family gathering space, however we do not rent our home for events.

We were looking for a quiet place to spend a long weekend and get together with our children from Boone and Clemson. This cabin was perfect and we felt comfortably cloistered in this beautiful setting, truly a quiet get away. We loved everything about this remarkable home, the floor plan, appliances, unique and personal decor that reflected some family history and personal interests of the owners. Needless to say, the place was immaculate. We spent most of the weekend hanging around the cabin, catching up with our children. The kitchen is exceptionally equipped, with high end appliances and plenty of room to prepare meals. Our family loves to cook together and the kitchen provided ample space for all of us to visit together while we prepared our meals and cleaned up. The open floor plan allowed us to keep an eye on the NCAA tournament being monitored on the living room TV. There is a very spacious deck with a beautiful, stone, outdoor fireplace that we kept burning most of the time we were there, with firewood provided! We sat around the fire at night and had a great time visiting with our family. The bedrooms were very comfortable, even the "built-in" queen beds in the loft, where our 6'2" and 6'3" boys slept, were more than adequate. The master bath is very nice with an open walk in shower. We have stayed in many rental homes, from Grand Cayman to Kiawah Island, Sea Island, and Northern Michigan, and this rental is among the nicest! What a great time we had with our family and hope to make it a family tradition to get together at The Arrow C. I can highly recommend this home without reservation!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thanks for the exceptionally nice review. We are truly happy to have great guests such as your family that enjoy our home as much as we do. We spent this past weekend at The Arrow C meeting with a landscape architect who is designing a plan for us. It will be a busy spring of planting and beautifying the exterior. We do hope that you'll come back and see the newly landscaped edition! Kind Regards, Becky

We have stayed in many vacation houses, and this is definitely the best. It is an absolutely beautiful home with a fabulous covered deck. It was immaculately clean. My husband and I came with our two small children and my parents. The children loved sleeping in the alcove beds (with the fish pillow) and playing in the loft. I enjoyed cooking in the kitchen, which has very nice appliances. We were a little worried about the Fleetwood address, but it's only 20 min to downtown Boone. We will definitely be coming back!Recommended for: Families with young children, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

This home is amazing in everyway. The pictures and on-line description do not do it justice. The owners have thought of every detail to make this house exceptional. My wife and i arrived for an anniversary celebration anticipating a few evenings out for dinner. However, the gourmet kitchen was such a pleasure to cook in, we never left the house. Many thanks to the owners for sharing this incredible gift with us. We have rented many vacation homes thru the years, but this one tops the list. We are already making plans for our next visit. Remember that as the owner indicated, a 4WD or AWD is needed as the driveway is steep.Owner response: Thanks Mark. That is very kind. We are glad that chose The Arrow C for your getaway, and that it did not disappoint! We look forward to your return in the summer. Becky

Our family enjoyed a wonderful Christmas holiday in this lovely home. It was the perfect spot, quiet and woodsy, and the house was perfectly equipped with everything we needed, including holiday decorations! The house is brand-new and beautifully appointed. We enjoyed hikes on the Blue Ridge Parkway, and exploring nearby Boone and Blowing Rock. Would definitely go back!Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you for entrusting us with your Christmas holiday getaway! We are thrilled that you enjoyed the home and the area, and got to see a bit of snow too. We hope you'll think of us the next time you are in the beautiful mountains of NC.

The pictures of Arrow C were great but staying there was much better. The owners have impeccable taste. It was a great place for some serenity, some outdoor activities and great food. The kitchen was well equiped and easy to work in. The outdoor porch is outstanding - we just relaxed part of a day away.. We had five people staying at the house - it worked really well. The property was clean and well-maintained because it is brand new. The owners were very cooperative. I would recommend this property to anyone who wants to get away. My friends and I will be repeat customers. Please take the owner's advice to have a 4-wheel drive - the last bit is steep.Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers.
Owner response: Hi Darra, Thanks for the glowing review. We're so glad you enjoyed your stay with us. We are hoping our guests will enjoy the house as much as we do. Come back and see us again when you find yourself in NC! Becky

We had such a great stay at the Arrow C. We live just outside of Dallas, TX and it was the perfect place for a getaway! We have family that lives within an hour of this cabin and it worked out wonderfully for a Thanksgiving location. Becky was very helpful and we will definitely be staying here again!Owner response: Well, after coming such a long way, we are happy that you weren't disappointed! It is great that you were able to be so close to your family for the Thanksgiving holiday. That makes your stay all the more special. We look forward to your return. Becky

Owner info

About the owner: We are North Carolina residents and love visiting this home when we can. It should feel as much like home to you, our guest, as it does to us. We enjoy hiking, biking, skiing, checking out the local music scene, and floating on the New River. We have traveled extensively, but our heart lies in the Blue Ridge mountains.
Why the Owner Chose Boone:
This is our second build on this mountain. We loved the first cabin so much, we knew we wanted a custom designed home with high quality amenities. We chose a 2 acre prime lot and started to work! The Arrow C is now a dream come true for us. The name originated decades ago with my grandfather, Roy Carey. He was a large animal veterinarian in Washington and ran a ranch near Ellensburg, just over the Snoqualmie Pass from Seattle. The Arrow C Ranch was a place he loved dearly, and I him.....and so the name lives on.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
The outdoor space here is AMAZING. Sit and watch the sun come up with your coffee as the deer saunter by. Enjoy fireside dinners and the log porch swing. Give the Bimini Ring Toss game a try and perfect your game!
