Johnie Mac's is a wonderful beach home conveniently located close to the stores, shops, restaurants, marina, water-slide, and the ocean. Quick and easy beach access at the end of the road, Johnie Macs is only 4 rows back from the ocean. Just a short walk will find you at the waters edge. Downstairs you will find plenty of covered and uncovered parking along with a large vacant lot right next door for you to use for volleyball, horseshoes, extra parking, etc. A private downstairs shower, picnic table, charcoal grill, hammock, and swing are also available for your enjoyment. Upstairs, the living, dining, and kitchen area are open and spacious. Our kitchen is fully equipped for all of your needs. The two bedrooms are light and roomy, as well as the two full baths. A large covered and uncovered deck offer fantastic ocean views. Complete with towels, linens, pillows, TV/DVD in each room, central AC/heat, ceiling fans, washer/dryer, iron/ironing board, Johnie Mac's is the cleanest beach rental you will find on the peninsula.

We stayed at Johnie Mac's Hangout last weekend. The house was impeccably clean, well organized, and very well stocked. The owners, Johnie and Peggy, were easy to work with and more than accommodating. The price for this house is better than anywhere I've stayed on the peninsula, and I've been vacationing at Crystal Beach for almost 25 years. Even though it's not beachfront, the view is still beautiful, and the deck was perfect. We will DEFINITELY be booking this house again in the future!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

I was somewhat skeptical of renting a property that has no reviews. I must admit I was a little nervous...I always read reviews and usually write a review especially if my family and I had a good experience. The renters were friendly and very easy to deal with. The home has a perfect location to everything, especially the beach. We have rented many vrbo properties and we have never seen a home this stocked with plates, pots, pillows, sheets, utensils etc. If you name it, you will see it...except for scrabble. Our family loves scrabble. Crystal Beach is definitely the place to vacation. You know you are staying at the perfect place when the kids refer to the property as "going home" whenever we leave the house. I could keep going but it's not necessary. The location and price is right! We really can't wait to go back.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children.

About the owner: Crystal Beach was our 'home away form home' for many years. We recently moved to the peninsula and Crystal Beach is now our permanent residence.
Why the Owner Chose Crystal Beach:
While Galveston is just a ferry ride away, we like the peace and quiet of Crystal Beach. We enjoy watching beautiful sunrises and sunsets from the deck and stargazing at night. And of course, the beaches are fantastic.

Location, location, location!! Our cabin is just a short walk to the beach and close to anything and everything you may need, whether it's the gocery store, the shops and restaurants, the marina, or the water slide. It's all right there!!!
