- Our cottage is located in the heart of historic Magnolia Springs, AL. The community's name comes from the ever-flowing springs and the abundance of aged magnolia trees that grace nearly every residential garden. A majestic canopy of giant oak trees lines Oak Street, just one block away. During your stay, you can view waterbirds, go fishing or swimming from the neighborhood pier, just a few steps away. While you are enjoying the pier, you can see the the only remaining river route US mailman in the continental United States (see pic). For lunch or dinner, Jesse’s Award Winning Restaurant is a short 10 minute walk down Oak Street. The beautiful town and river are perfect for travelers who enjoy walking, running, biking and water sports as well as sightseers and birdwatchers. The location is a very convenient drive to shopping, in Foley or Fairhope, to Gulf beaches, and to many restaurants and spas. ...moreless

We spent a week at Magnolia Time enjoying everything possible. Strolls with 4 month old baby, views of Magnolia River, relaxing on the deck, just a delightful time for all of us! The home was exactly as described, charming, well equipped, clean and full of good vibes. The owners went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. Enjoy we did!

This cottage is tucked within old growth trees including Magnolia's. There is some tall bamboo along the road and within the trees. If you are looking for a romantice getaway or a place for your family to spend quality time without the normal tourist activity, this is it. It is a quiet neighborhood and the only traffic noise you may hear are from watercraft on the inlet a short distance away. The residents are friendly, but not overly friendly. The cottage is homelike, with home touches such as family photos, board games and novels. It gives you a feeling of house sitting for a friend or relative. It is only about 20 minutes from the public beach. If you like to read, there is a small collection of novels from Authors like Tom Clancy. the small bedroom has an assortment of games for that "quality family time". We have been staying at the cottage visiting my granddaughter who lives in the area and we live in Indiana. The cottage provides a home environment vs. a hotel room or multiple condos. It is like visiting your grandparents home without the grandparents. :) We love it, as does my granddaughter. If you are looking for quiet and relaxation, this is the place.

The cabin was ideally located for us, because our son's wedding was a block up the road on Oak Street. Before and after the wedding, the children enjoyed the use of the kayak and bike. The master bedroom was very comfortable. The second bedroom is tiny and idea for children, but the beds are small for some adults. My 6 ft. son-in-law did manage graciously. My 7 year old grandson loved the top bunk and my 4 year old granddaughter equally was excited to sleep in the trundle bed next to her parents. The vintage style of the house gave a lovely, warm setting for the photographs of the groomsmen getting ready before the wedding. The kitchen/ diningroom and living room space worked well when the wedding party came over and visited after the wedding. The area is nice and quiet. The water is easily accessible. Grocery stores, etc. are close by in Foley. Maybe a 5 or 10 minute drive. A 20 minute drive to the beach. Take the back roads to avoid all the traffic lights from Foley to the the beach. The restaurant in Magnolia Springs is fantastic! We enjoyed our stay and look forward to coming back!

Magnolia Springs Vacation aka possible retirement
Magnolia Springs Vacation aka possible retirement
the only concern i had was that i couldn't get on the internet to search for things to do since there wasn't Wifi (cabel)-the house was very charming, just like it was described. We did eat at Jessie's unfortunately it was the last day we were there otherwise thanks to the waiter we had we would have had more things to do more so around Magnolia Springs. Yes I would recommend the property and we are also thinking of returning to the area possibly next Spring.

We needed a January "get-away" and Magnolia Time fit the bill. Everything was tidy, the supplies were convenient - and we enjoyed the charming comfortable home. Bed was great too. Because it was January, we explored the area ,including Jesse's down the street ( fabulous). Magnolia Springs is small and quaint, and there was enough sunshine for me to do a little oil painting of the beautiful church across from Jesse's Restaurant. The Magnolia Springs cookbook in the kitchen was a treat to read - for the history as well as food! It was refreshing to be near the water. The owners make everything easy .

Such a lovely, cozy cottage. My husband and I enjoyed taking walks thru the neighborhood every day, and the girls really enjoyed the bikes. This is a great place to visit to relax and get away from everything. Would love to return when the weather is better. Very convenient location, close enough to the beach, yet away from all the congestion. The owner was very pleasant, and the house is equipped with everything you will need except for food.

Great Thanksgiving weekend!
Great Thanksgiving weekend!
This is a wonderful cottage. Everything was very clean, comfortable, and worked perfectly. It is just a little walk out the back door to a beautiful little dock on the river. My kids spent a lot of time kayaking around and we spent a lot of time just sitting down there watching the birds, fish, and boats too. We also enjoyed biking around town and walking to Jesse's for Thanksgiving dinner was awesome! Loved it - hope we can come back soon!

About the owner: We are originally from this general area and live in nearby Daphne, Alabama with our two school age girls, and a menagerie of animals.
Why the Owner Chose Magnolia Springs:
We have been playing on the Magnolia river for years- boating, swimming and canoeing. It was our dream to have a home there. We fell in love with this house many years before we were able to purchase it.
The Unique Benefits at this Cottage:
The cottage feel to this house, with heart pine floors and walls, combined with the close proximity to the river, was really what drew us to this house. Additionally, we love the beauty and charm of the historic town and the majestic live oaks.
