A village colonial, built in 1890, our home is located in the Woods Hole Historical District, overlooking the harbor. It is a warm and comfortable home, casual, with original art and sturdy antiques. There are four spacious, newly-renovated bedrooms, three newly renovated bathrooms and a modern, newly-built kitchen with Viking gas stove, Bosch dishwasher and Sub-zero refrigerator. The front of the house has lawn and gardens and a very large 3-season wrap-around porch, part screened, part open, and looks out at the harbor. The master bedroom, also newly-built, looks onto a large terrace, beyond which lies a lovely heated swimming pool with its own smaller terrace, gardens, parkland and wooded hills. Adjacent to the larger terrace is a brand-new outdoor shower and hot tub, as well as a gas grill. A kayak is available for your use, as are bicycles .

This house and the village of Woods Hole are the epitome of relaxation. I have never been in a house where there are so many places to go and experience peacefulness. For the times you want the sun, you can lounge around the pool on the beautiful patio. When you want to cool off, you either jump in the fabulous pool or move to a different lounge chair in the shady end of the pool terrace. Or, you can sit on one of the Adirondack chairs in the front yard and look at the boats in Eel Pond and watch the passersby. When you've had enough outdoors, you can move inside to the wraparound porch - either lying on the couch on the screen porch or lying on the swinging day bed on the outside porch - with a book and again looking at Eel Pond across the street. In the evenings, after either making our meal in the lovely kitchen or eating at one of the wonderful restaurants in the village, we could choose to either hang out on the porch or in the living room or cozy library, playing a board game at the table. The bedrooms are all beautifully set up and very comfortable. The outside shower and hot tub just add to the whole pampered experience. The beaches, the bike path, the stores and restaurants in the village of Woods Hole and FaImouth Center, just a short drive away, make this location an unbeatable treat. it is a beautiful house in a lovely area and I couldn't recommend it more highly.Recommended for: Girls getaway, pet owners, people with disabilities, families with young children, sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

My husband and I have been guests at 59 School St twice in the past year (weeks of 9 May and 1 Sept). We were always accompanied by our dog and often by our 27 year old twins. There is no other place that I would want to stay on the Cape. This home and location offers everything that the Cape is about. The home is a charming original home with all the character and warmth of such a home but with all the latest high quality amenities in appliances in the kitchen and all bathrooms, not to mention the heated in-ground pool and patio surrounded by a beautiful vista of mature trees. The location cannot be beat. My family and I love the walks around the neighborhood with the enchanting streets and gorgeous views of the ocean. We also loved to walk to dinner in the center of Wood's Hole or walk for coffee in the early morning to Pie In The Sky past the beautiful harbor of Eel Pond. In a short drive, one can be at a number of beautiful beach and harbor locations, not to mention the bustling town of Falmouth Center with all that it has to offer. This place of 59 School St. is magical and offers an experience that is hard to match.Recommended for: Girls getaway, pet owners, families with young children, sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.
