A lovely fall weekend in Boulder
A lovely fall weekend in Boulder
Our extended family enjoyed a lovely weekend at the Magical Mapleton Corner Home. The location was perfect for walking to town and to the football game at the CU stadium. There was a near by park that was enjoyed by our young people. The house was great. The sleeping quarters were well appointed and slept 8 nicely. The living area is small for 8 but the wonderful back yard takes up the slack in good weather which we were fortunate to have. The house was well appointed and met our expectations. The owners were most helpful answering questions and providing information. We would recommend this property to others

Reunion in Boulder
Reunion in Boulder
The Mapleton was a wonderful place for seven high school friends to reunite for a few days. The house was welcoming, clean, and everyone was happy with the comfort of the beds and overall living space. The location was a pleasant walk from Pearl Street Mall, and was a convenient drive to hiking, restaurants, and other attractions. The owner was extremely helpful in answering our questions, and the actual booking/checking in could not have been easier. I would highly recommend!

Our stay in Boulder
Our stay in Boulder
We went to Boulder for our daughters wedding. 7 family members from across the country came together and stayed at the Mapleton Corner home. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect location close to everything but still a quiet setting. Our stay was in August, so we had to leave the bedrooms doors open to allow the Swamp cooling unit at the top of the stairs to cool the bedrooms at night. The only tiny thing I would like to mention and I am sure the owner will have fixed, is the upstairs bathroom door needs to be trimmed down, it has to be slammed to shut and thus in the middle of the night kept waking us up. Otherwise, I would definitely come back and recommend to others.

Manager response: Hi Suzanne, thanks again for choosing our place in Boulder. We're so glad that you enjoyed your stay. I know what you're talking about with the doors swelling. This can happen when the swamp cooler runs - the wood (including doors) in the house can swell with the extra humidity in the air. It's a tough call, because if we trim the door when it is swollen it will be too small and won't shut when the swamp cooler is shut off and the doors and wood return to their regular size. And, the humidity that the swamp cooler adds to the air is such a relief here in Colorado where it is so hot and dry in the Summer. Something we have done is to just actually rub a bar of soap on the side of the door and door jam to help them close more smoothly. I think this has helped a lot, and it won't be an issue outside of the hot Summer months anyway when the swamp cooler is off. Thanks again. Kind Regards, Whitney

Good location, very comfortable.
Good location, very comfortable.
Nice location and comfortable rooms. The living room / dining room was pretty small for a four bedroom house, other than that, my stay was great.

Great cozy house for a group
Great cozy house for a group
The house was perfect for our needs. It was clean and well-maintained. It has 4 bedrooms and 2 baths as described. The bathrooms were clean, and the downstairs one in particular was nice. The place is not large, but we weren't spending much time in the house as a full group. The owner was super helpful and accommodating, and it was great to work with her. It had a nice big backyard that was fenced in, which would be good if you had kids in your group. Easy street parking. The small downsides were the traffic noise (it's on the corner of Folsom, which is a major street), and decent but not great kitchen supplies (small glasses, no salt and pepper). Coming from a city, the street noise didn't bother me, but might bother others. I would stay here again for sure!

Manager response: Hi Jamie, thank you so much for taking the time to review our place. We're so glad that your group enjoyed your stay. Thanks for letting us know that we were out of salt and pepper, it's been such a busy time, I didn't realize we were out, so will definitely make sure to grab some more. Also, thanks for letting us know some bigger glasses would be nice, we'll pick some up next time we're at the store. Thanks again! Best, Whitney P.S. Since this response, I added new stainless steel J.A. Henckels knives to the kitchen as a little upgrade, a set of 12 new large water glasses, and extra salt and pepper ;-)
A wonderful, open and airy home in a great and convenient location. the house has all you will need. In addition, the managers of the property are super responsive and helpful. You will enjoy your stay, we certainly did.

Manager response: Thank you so much for your extended stay and favorable review. We are so grateful to've had such wonderful guests! Thank you!
The house comfortably slept 8 people. It was clean and well maintained. We really appreciated having a xmas tree for our stay during the holidays. The living room/dining room though does not accomodate 8 people in the evening while hanging out watching tv. I would suggest maybe a smaller table and a sectional sofa instead of a futon sofa.

Manager response: Hi Tracy, thanks so much for your feedback! Since our Mapleton house is a historic home, it's true that the living/dining room is cozy. We've added more comfy seating by switching up the layout and replacing the futon with a couch, ottoman, and chair. The table can still be big or small, depending on whether or not you use the leaf. Thanks again for your stay and suggestion!

About: Oliver is from New York City but grew up in Boulder while Whitney is from LA. We met at CU where we both graduated from the Film School. We enjoy travel, real estate, interior design, photography, cooking, gardening, hiking, biking, swimming, delicious restaurants, family, friends, and film!
This home is a wonderful choice for your visit to Boulder for many reasons. It's proximity to the downtown Pearl Street Mall area and the new 29th St Mall is ideal, just walk 5 blocks East or West to be in the heart of either district. Our Mapleton home is on a generous corner lot with lots of trees so you have a feeling of being surrounded by nature while you're staying right downtown. It exudes Colorado charm and character with original wood plank floors and custom pine trim throughout. The original part of the home was first a miner's cabin in the late 1800s, so the house is an authentic part of Colorado history, and really feels quintessentially Rocky Mountain.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
One of the best things about this house is how it is quiet and peaceful, yet right in the middle of the best that Boulder has to offer. It's so easy to walk to lunch, dinner, the coffee shop, grocery store, or farmers market because it is directly between the Historic Pearl Street Mall and the new 29th Street Mall where the Apple Store, Whole Foods, Traders Joe's (April 2014), Sephora, Lululemon, the Century movie theater and more are.
