Awesome NC vacation
Awesome NC vacation
We stayed in this beautiful home from Dec 26th 2012 to Jan 2nd 2013. It was one of the best winter vacations we have ever had. We had 9 in our party, 4 of them were kids. We had everything we expected and more: everything was very well thought by the owner, who was also our next door neighbor. She had hand created those fire starters for us and a beautiful carrot cake was in the refrigerator when we arrived. You can literally just bring your toothbrush. The home was very spacious, all the appliances were brand new, both kitchens had everything you needed to cook your own meals. There was no cell phone reception but with the wireless network, it was so easy to get all the devices connected to internet in no time so we were able to communicate through Viber, Skype, text messaging without issues. Our landlord was so nice to offer us her landline anytime we wanted. The logs for the fireplace were already stacked in front and in case you ever run out, your landlord is there again for you! The access to the home may be a bit difficult in case it snows since it is on top of a narrow road however we did not have any issues and we enjoyed the privacy. As far as the area attractions, Sapphire Valley Resort which is 6 mile away is a great place to learn skiing and enjoy snow tubing. Waterfalls in Pisgah and Dupont national parks are well worth seeing. Highlands is also a small town worth visiting and enjoy the waterfalls. The closest grocery store is Ingles, 8 miles away, therefore we made our shopping for the whole week. If you are looking for more serious skiing, Ober Gatlinburg Tennessee is only 2 hours away (closer than Sugar Mountain) and the scenic views of Great Smoky Mountains are breathtaking. Asheville NC is also 1.5 hour away and beautiful. We have enjoyed our stay a lot and we are looking forward to returning again. This property is highly recommended to all who are looking to spend their winter vacation in beautiful NC mountains.

Nice Modern Cabin

I loved this cabin. Very much as advertised. Certainly can not beat the price for this home. Must less than anything in the area for a beautiful home. You cant even stay in a hotel for this much. Everything was very clean and comfortable. The owner even left a nice welcome basket. The views are wonderful. We would certainly reccomend this property to our friends and family. Hopefully we will be back next year!! Thank you for a nice stay.

RENTAL RULES 1.Smoking is NOT allowed inside the property. Smoking is allowed outside only. 2.People other than those in the Guest party set forth above may not stay overnight in the property. Any other person in the property is the sole responsibility of Guest. 3.All of the units are privately owned; the owners are not responsible for any accidents, injuries or illness that occurs while on the premises or its facilities. The Homeowners are not responsible for the loss of personal belongings or valuables of the guest. By accepting this reservation, it is agreed that all guests are expressly assuming the risk of any harm arising from their use of the premises or others whom they invite to use the premise. 4.Keep the property and all furnishings in good order 5.Only use appliances for their intended uses 6.PETS are permitted only with prior approval and the Pet Addendum must be completed. 7.Parking is limited to 4 vehicle(s). Vehicles are to be parked in designated parking areas only. Parking on the road is permitted. Any illegally parked cars are subject to towing; applicable fines/towing fees are the sole responsibility of the vehicle owner. 8.Housekeeping: There is no daily housekeeping service. While linens and bath towels are included in the unit, daily maid service is not included in the rental rate. We suggest you bring beach towels. We do not permit towels or linens to be taken from the units. On the day of check out: all linens, bed sheets and comforters, towels and washcloths will need to be put in front of the upstairs washing machine. The kitchen will need all the dishes and cook utensils to be washed and put away. Failure to due this will result in an additional $50 cleaning fee to be charged. 9.Fireplace: The fireplace is wood burning. Firewood will be provided with a limited amount. Use all fire safety precautions. 10. Water and Septic: The [cabin/property] is on a well and septic systems. The septic system is very effective; however, it will clog up if improper material is flushed. DO NOT FLUSH anything other than toilet paper. No feminine products should be flushed at anytime. If it is found that feminine products have been flushed and clog the septic system, you could be charged damages of up to $200 11. Storms: No refunds will be given for storms. Mountain roads can be curvy and steep. Gravel drives are well maintained; however, we highly recommend four wheel drive and/or chains during the snow months. We do not refund due to road conditions 12. Rental Age: There is a minimal rental age of 21.
