Casa Sonadora's location is also the best in Sayulita. It is located in the exclusive south-central area, directly above Sayulita’s premier surfing and swimming beach on a little hill and 1 block to town. This area was the first developed by ex-pats who came to Sayulita over 40 years ago. It was chosen above all other areas in Sayulita because of its unsurpassed views of the surf break and the Nayarit coastline and its close proximity to the center of town and main swimming and surfing beach just 1 ½ blocks away. No car is needed when staying at Casa Sonadora, because everything in Sayulita is within a 5 minute stroll. (Another nice feature is the delightful 2 minute walk to town and beach via the beautifully flowering garden and meandering pathway, lovingly called “Lombard Street”, referencing San Francisco’s famous twisty road.)
Casa Sonadora is one large house that has 3 bedrooms, a convertible TV/Bedroom, 4 bathrooms, 2 outdoor showers, 2 Roman bathtubs and even a treehouse!
The upper floor has a master suite with king bed, private veranda sitting area and gorgeous ocean views. It has an indoor and an outdoor shower and a large Roman bathtub. The second bedroom also has a private veranda with amazing ocean views. It has two queen beds and a bathroom that can be shared with convertible TV/Bedroom. The TV room sits between these bedrooms and has a large LCD TV with surround sound system and a terrace with the same exceptional ocean views.
There is a very large garden rooftop terrace with unbelievable 360 degree views of Sayulita Bay, the town and the jungle and mountains surrounding it. Under a massive palapa roof you have your own outdoor living room.
The first floor of Casa Sonadora also has wonderful ocean views which can be enjoyed from the kitchen, dining room, living room and additional master suite. Off the dining room, there is an outdoor palapa sitting area with pool, garden and ocean view. The living room enjoys the same view with the pool just outside the sliding glass doors. The master suite downstairs is similar to the upstairs one without the outdoor shower, but with the addition of a large LCD TV and sound system.
The entire house is beautifully designed and artistically appointed with antique Mexican art and traditional Mexican artifacts. Every bedroom has its own unique charm. They all are air-conditioned, have pillow top mattresses and luxury linens. The whole house has filtered drinking water and there is a pressurized water system too. The swimming pool is heated (great between December and April) and no chlorine or chemicals are used – it is ozone-treated with a touch of salt. There are lawns and beautifully landscaped private tropical gardens. There are DVD players, stereo systems (Ipod compatible) and satellite flat screen TVs. WiFi has also been installed. There is an outdoor shower by the pool and a treehouse with hammock where you can luxuriate in style with exceptional ocean views. Every detail has been thoughtfully considered to add to the comfort, beauty and serenity of your stay. Regular maid, gardening and pool service is provided and our property manager, can make arrangements for a cook if desired. If you book Casa Sonadora, you will be contacted with information (from airport travel from Puerto Vallarta to Casa Sonadora, to the best places to change your money, eat, etc.) Once you arrive Eric can recommend the best restaurants, masseuses and activities in the area.
The peacefulness and beauty of this property cannot be conveyed in words or pictures. You are away from the town’s bustle and directly above the surf break. We recently returned from an 11-night stay at Casa Sonadora. The home exceeded our expectations. With three families, all with small children, we had some concerns about space for all of us but the space lended itself perfectly to groups travelling together as there is ample space and we all marvelled at how we didn't hear each others babies crying at night! The interior is beautifully decorated and the use of the outdoor space was wonderful, the hard part was deciding the best place to enjoy your morning coffee and afternoon margarita! The pool was a lovely 30 degrees, we all got tonnes of use out it! The property manager, Eric, was quick to respond to all correspondence and was great to deal with. Carmina, the housekeeper and sometimes chef, was helpful and attentive. She prepared a meal for us on our first night and it was a great way to kick-off our stay at Casa Sonadora. The location of the home was perfectly central to town and the beach, and the views are as pictured, stunning. We will be back to Sayulita and Casa Sonadora. Thank you for sharing your home with us!Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

My family and I stayed at Casa Sonadora over New Year's this past year and felt like we were in the best house in Sayulita! We travelled with another family - Total of 4 adults and 5 kids between the ages of 7 and 14. We were the first official renters of the house (and the owner worked over-time trying to get it finished for our arrival-Thank You Dennis!). The house is brand new from the ground up. It has large open rooms and spaces, a great pool and patio with views of the beach and popular surf break, roof top palapa that is huge, a darling tree house with a hammock (my husband spent more time here than the kids!), and many other great features. The house's footprint is very big, but it is really a 2 family house with 2 masters and 1 additional sleeping areas. Everything in this house is high end. I am not sure you could want for much more in a house on vacation. Given how many houses are built on this hill, it felt very private. It sits right above town so is a short walk to restaurants and the beach. The location cannot be beat. The only thing I would warn future visitors to Sayulita is to avoid the busy times of the year. Its a small fishing town with super cute shops and restaurants but I don't think i would go back again during the Holidays. The crowds were insane on the beach, in town, and everywhere you turned. Throw in some torrential rain (highly unusual but it happened) and power outages (think these happen occasionally) , and it made for quite a little bit different trip than we envisioned. Thankfully we were staying in the nicest house possible and were comfortable while we waited it out. The owner Dennis is the nicest guy and was super helpful and accommodating while we were working through the rental process. Very trustworthy person and would rent from them again without hesitation. The house isn't cheap, but after staying at Casa Sonadora, I fear anything else would feel like a let down!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, tourists without a car, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Our group just returned from our stay at Casa Sonadora, a brand new property that is an absolute architectural gem. It is spectacular – inside and out. The owners obviously spared no expense in creating this masterpiece. From the incredible ocean views from every room to the waterfall in the pool, to the iguana filled tree and gorgeous gardens to the amazing treehouse and glorious roof terrace with incredible 360 degree views, this home has everything and then some. The interior décor and comfort are second to none. We hardly wanted to go to town or the beach, but when we did everything was less than a 5 minute walk away. We have been coming to Sayulita for years now, but have finally found our ultimate vacation home. Thank you Dennis and Joan. Our vacation and your home could not have been better. We will return again and again.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children.

About the owner: My wife, Joan, and I, Dennis, live most of the time in an area frequently referred to as the northern tip of the wine country in California, just above Napa Valley. I recently sold my Internet Marketing Company and my wife is starting to wind down her successful art business. We are semi-retired now, but I still manage to keep busy with all my real estate projects, investments and family. We travel quite a bit together and with our two married daughters and their husbands and their growing families. One of our daughters is a successful Interior Architect in Los Angles who is married to an entrepreneur who is the majority owner and CEO of a major software company. The other daughter is an occupational therapist, whose husband is the cameraman for many of the Home and Garden TV Network shows that we all love. We are an active group. We all love to ski, hike, scuba dive, surf, bike, boat, ride motorcycles, and hang out together in beautiful environments. We are recent grandparents with both daughters and are thoroughly enjoying this delightful new addition to our lives.

We already own the two incredible houses right next door here in Sayulita, but we wanted to fully design and build from the ground up our Sayulita dream home. Before buying this last piece of vacant land in our neighborhood we again looked at everything available in Sayulita for months and then came back to the best neighborhood in Sayulita with its phenomenal surf views and close proximity to everything in Sayulita. Now we own three fabulous luxury properties right across from each other and directly above the beach and town which are just a block away!
The Unique Benefits at this House:
We really love this incredible location with unsurpassed panoramic views, the jungle garden surrounding our house, the heated swimming pool, the large collection of unique Mexican art thoughout the house, the cooling breeze, and watching the surfers below the house. We also love spending time on the roof garden palapa terrace. Here we have 360 degree views of the ocean, mountains, jungle and village below. We watch the surfers, migrating whales and swooping birds, and drink in the huge expanse of the Nayarit coastline. This is where we really kick back and relax and drink in all the beauty that is Sayulita.
