Location: Indian Pass, Florida Main North West, Florida North West, Florida, USA (About one hour east of Panama City) View Map
Accommodations: House, 2 Bedrooms + Loft, 1.5 Baths (Sleeps 4-6)
Keywords: Beach House
New (2003) two bedroom, one and one-half bath home in a gated community very near the Indian Pass Raw Bar and the Turtle Beach Inn. The house sits on approximately three-quarters of an acre on the second tier (third row from the beach) and overlooks a large marsh area to the rear. There is a big screened-in back porch facing the marsh, and both bedrooms have excellent views over the marsh and a small canal.
The community has a pool directly on the beach. The home is approximately 12 miles southeast of Port St. Joe, just off Highway 30A, and 18 miles west of Apalachicola. As of July 2005, there are only six homes completed in this development of about thirty lots. The beach and pool are about a three minute walk on oyster shell paths.
Legend has it that pirates buried a casket of gold in the creek that empties into the Gulf about a half mile from the house. One visitor to the area reportedly found a gold doubloon near the mouth of the creek a few years ago. Whether the story is true or not, it is likely to keep the kids busy for hours.
DIRECTIONS
Drive east from Port St. Joe on Highway 98. About 2 miles out of town, turn right onto Highway 30A. Proceed 6.7 miles on Highway 30A. At this point, Highway 30E turns off to the right and goes to Cape San Blas. DO NOT turn onto 30E, but continue straight on Highway 30 for 2.7 miles until you reach the Indian Pass Raw Bar on your left. Turn right onto 30B directly opposite the raw bar; this road goes to the ferry to St. Vincent Island. About 200 yards after the turn off, you will cross a small canal. Just past the canal, turn right onto Painted Pony Rd, a small shell road. There is a sign for the Turtle Beach Inn. Proceed straight on Painted Pony until you reach a gate; key in the gate code (the key pad is on the left, just before the driveway to the Turtle Beach Inn), pass thru the gate and the house will be about 100 yards on your right at 157 Painted Pony Road.

We stayed in Indian Pass for the first time and found the area to be delightful. Very happy with the house overall. Had a few issues upon arrival (air was out, dvd player did not work) but we really believe that to be the issue of the management company, and both were quickly fixed. The beach and pool were incredibly close. Area was picturesque. Some sort of bug spray is a MUST HAVE around the house at night. The mosquitos come out in swarms. The house was perfect size for my husband and I and our two children (8 and 12). They loved the spiral staircase/loft and bedroom. Owner was also very accommodating about us bringing our two dogs. The area is remote enough that we were able to bring the dogs to the beach every day which was also great. Only thing I was a bit surprised by were the many windows/baseboards upstairs that were not 'trimmed out' (and that the trim was all stacked on top of the cabinets in the kitchen. Certainly didn't take away from the enjoyment of our stay, would just think for the price, it would be finished out. We will definitely come back to Indian Pass, just might look at other properties when we do...
Recommended for:Pet owners, families with young children.

We have stayed at Sunny Daze on several occasions. We love this place. However the king size bed in the master bedroom desperately needs a new foundation & mattress. There are blankets & quilts under the bottom sheet to try to take the 'sink holes' out of the bed. The house is in a very nice secluded area. Other than the bed the house is well maintained. Often we don't turn the TV on while while we are there. If you have kids there are games & videos galore. There is even a sand box on the back porch. The house is about 100 yds from the beach. You walk right past the pool to get to the beach. The pool is 5' deep. Being in a swampy area be sure to use OFF or something like it. This is not a fault of the property, just being near water where mosquitoes thrive. I would love to give this property a 5 star rating but I just can't because of the bed. The house is within site of the infamous "Indian Pass Raw Bar". This is a must do location.
Owner response:The mattress and box springs have been replaced.
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, pet owners, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children.
