About the owner: Pete and I live is recently moved to the Eastern Shore of Maryland from Washington State to be closer to family. I am still working as a nurse practitioner waiting to retire to the cape and Pete is a retired Episcopal priest. We are both from the east coast but lived in the Pacific NW for the last 20 years before returning home.
Why the Owner Chose Brewster: We bought this pair of cottages because it is close to the home in Brewster we have owned for many years and we wanted to have additinal room for our daughter's growing families. We named it Nobscussett becuase that was the name of the camp Peter's gramdmother owned many years ago in Dennis. Now that the fix-up is complete, when the girls visit they aregue about who get's to stay at Nobscusett.
The Unique Benefits at this Cottage: When Pete started his renovation, the first thing he did was have a stone paved patio put in with a long curved 'sitting wall. This outdoor space makes Nobscussett so special. Then he transported wide, random width yellow pine boards he had milled a few years ago on his Maryland family farm. Everyone thought he was crazy to go to so much trouble but it is a rather pleasing, livable result. I love being back in the woods. Church Road is a narrow dirt road paved with oyster shells and with very little traffic. There are less than 5-6 housed located on church so privacy is at a premium.
