Beech Mountain.....................My home is 1/2 mile from my driveway to the Beech Mountain Ski Resort parking lot. In the summer you will be interested to know that our home has membership at the Private Beech Mountain Club which allows our guests for a fee to golf on Eastern America's highest golf course, play tennis and swim in the Olympic swimming pool on Beech Mountain. We finished a major renovation last October. While we really liked our home before, we love it now! Even though our home is renovated, our rental rate is less than it was for summer 2013!
While we have all new carpet and flooring, we are still allowing a small well behaved dog (not puppy). However, crating your dog is required if they are left alone in our home.
Our home has a 6 person Hot tub, hi-speed internet (wireless), extended cable(5 digital boxes), 5 TVs (5 new 32'flatscreens), 5 DVDs, Living Room upstairs/family room downstairs, wood provided, parking for 4 cars, gas grill.) Our property is Non-Smoking. Linens are provided (recently replaced sheet sets).

This charmingly decorated (lodge style- bears, moose etc) home with 3 bedrooms (Q,Q,K all with new mattresses/boxsprings), sleeping loft (1 T- also new) Q sleeper in Den (new upgraded mattress) recliner sofa in liv.room, 2.5 baths will sleep up to 8 people (singles), 9 people (families). It is a great winter Mountain getaway to help your family unwind, whether you just curl up on the couch in front of the wood burning fireplace ( Mother Nature supplies the cool weather / the owner supplies the firewood) and enjoy watching a movie (home has 5 TVs with expanded cable (1with digital), 5 DVDs)or you may work and stay in touch with the world as much or as little as you want/or need to, thanks to the wireless internet access (WI-FI). Other highlights of this home are unwinding on the large decks with your morning coffee or just grilling out on the gas grill. (Note: if you are quiet, you will love watching the deer that comes around in the evening.) This home is easily accessible with plenty of parking that easily fits 4 cars.
MAIN LEVEL(upper): GREAT ROOM makes up the Living room (Wood burning fireplace,recliner sofa, 32 in flat screen TV with digital cable box and DVD), dining room/kitchen with free standing bar/center island (room has 5 large picture windows/ the advantage of the Octagon shape makes you feel you are part of the outdoors). The kitchen is fully furnished with refrigerator, ice maker, stove/oven, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, garbage disposal.
ALSO on the upper level is 1 1/2 baths (2 half baths are arranged with tub/shower in between with connecting door to half bath on both sides); Master bedroom with door to bathroom:(Moose Room) (32 in flat TV, DVD, queen bed) and the Guest bedroom: (Bear Room)(32' flat TV, DVD and queen bed) The loft area (twin bed,no TV) with steps (see photos) overlooks the living room. This floor has the outdoor upper deck with furniture / gas grill.
DOWNSTAIRS LEVEL: family room ( queen sleeper sofa)32' flatscreen TV,DVD; Master bedroom (Snowman room) (32' flatscreen TV, DVD) new king bed, and door to bathroom, Bath (with shower), utility room (washer/ dryer plus microwave and mini fridge for drinks, also has adjoining door to the bath with shower). This level also has a large deck with 6 person HOT TUB & table and chairs. Even when it rains or snows, you can enjoy the hot tub as the ceiling of the deck is covered (ceiling added under the floor of upstairs deck).
While our Neighbor has a seasonal home on the opposite side, on the side of the home with the two decks (hot tub on the lower deck), it is wooded and very private.
In the winter you will enjoy that you are only 1/2 mile from the Beech Mtn. Ski Resort (skiing, snowboarding, tubing) and about 1 mile to the free sledding hill for kids.
Our BEECH MOUNTAIN CLUB MEMBERSHIP and the cool mountain temperatures, along with tower fans in every room, lots of windows (7 windows upstairs, 5 downstairs and doors with screens upstairs and downstairs help to make it a great comfortable summer, fall, and spring rental, as well as a fabulous Winter rental.

About the owner: My name is Debbie Apple and and my husband Ken and I are the owners of the Apple Chalet. We bought Apple Chalet I in 1997 and then purchased Apple Chalet II in 2000. I started out as a rent from owner until in 2002, I oved it so much I became a NC Real Estate broker (renting vacation Rentals). We have since sold Apple Chalet I, so now Apple Chalet II is known as Apple Chalet. Happily, I am now retired and live in Florida with my husband. I get to enjoy our Grandchildren AND secondly,I get to concentrate on renting out our own Beech Mountain home. My husband and I like nothing better than to be able to visit Apple Chalet any chance that we can get, and we hope that you will feel the same way about our home that we do, and that you will want to come back time and time again.
Why the Owner Chose Beech Mountain: Ken and I lived in Florida, but when we talked about having a summer retirement home in the future, we always came back to wanting to retire somewhere in the mountains. Our 25th wedding anniversary was coming up, so we decided not to wait to purchase a home to enjoy. We started checking out different areas and fell in love with the fact that the Banner Elk/Beech Mtn. area basically had 2 strong rental seasons (we knew we needed to rent our home to help pay the expenses) - the winter ski season and the summer and fall season. We took a summer family trip and Ken chose Beech Mountain, mainly because he had heard from friends what a wonderful golf course the Beech Mountain Golf Course was. The whole family fell in love with Beech Mountain and all the fun things there was to do in the area. Then to celebrate our 25th Anniversary, we returned again in October and the fall foliage was spectacular. We were completely sold on Beech Mountain after checking out the Ski Beech Resort (now Beech Mountain Ski Resort). We realized what a winter wonderland Beech Mountain truly was. That explains how we picked Beech Mountain, but 'why this property?' The answer is simple. We had purchased our first property on Beech Mountain in 1997. Since we enjoyed that home so, we decided to look for another. The first requirement was that it had Beech Mountain Club Membership (has a fabulous golf course, tennis, Olympic size swimming pool, exercise room etc). Secondly, we loved that it had a great location, it was only ½ mile to the parking lot at Ski Beech Resort. Our first home, was 1 1/2 miles from the Ski Resort. More importantly though, we just fell in love with this home the first minute we walked in the door, and knew this was the home for us. We have since sold Apple Chalet I, so now Apple Chalet II is our only Beech Mtn. home.
In the summer, we love nothing more than to sit on the upper deck enjoying the cool mountain air and watching the deer that visit our property.

CLUB MEMBERSHIP, you can purchase an unaccompanied guest pass (by day or week) that allows you to swim in the Olympic-size heated swimming pool at the Beech Mountain Club. For an additional fee, you can golf on the exclusive private Beech Mtn. Golf Course , play tennis at the many tennis courts or dine in the Clubhouse. Year-round you can use the fitness center and massage therapy at the club for a fee. The distance to the tennis courts, pool and fitness room is 1 mile and the Golf Course and Clubhouse Restaurant is approx. 4 miles. Beech Mountain is also home to The Buckeye Lake Recreation Center which also has a playground, lake, picnic area, outdoor tennis, indoor play area for toddlers, indoor tennis and basketball court, classes, fitness room etc.
