Beautiful home on river and conveniently located. There was only one television for such a large house. The open kitchen and eating area was good for a large group. Enjoyed the two dining tables. Plenty of towels. It was good to enter/exit garage as that helped keep the house clean from foot traffic. Hot water was an issue first night but was quickly resolved by adjusting thermostat on hot water tank. I recommend this property and think it would be a great place to try as a summer rental because of location on river. Rental transaction was easy.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with young children, sightseeing.

This is a beautiful home with stunning views of the river and mountains. This home was clean and well maintained. My family really enjoyed all the wildlife we could see from this home. We saw a bald eagle, deer and foxes. 3 of the bedrooms overlook the river! Staying here with children was great. There are toys, a twin bed, baby gates, and a crib. The kitchen is large with double ovens and supplies everything you need to prepare meals easily for a large family. It would be nice to have a toaster though. We enjoyed using the wi-fi and satellite. The dvd player was not working properly and needs to be replaced. There are plenty of bathrooms with a great supply of towels and accessories. We really enjoyed the open floor plan with gorgeous log beams. This home is beautiful, relaxing and comfortable; it will make your visit to South Fork memorable. I would highly recommend this home to anyone visiting the South Fork area. Wolf Creek ski area has great snow. I would recommend eating at Ramon's and the Shaft.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.

We were excited to book the cabin after seeing the pictures online. When we called to book we were told we could not have the weekly rate for a 7 night stay that was advertised in the online listing, but were instead charged a higher rate. The owner said the listing was wrong. We were pleased when pulling in the drive, although it did take a bit of looking to find the correct entrance to the property as it wasn't clearly marked. The cabin and area are beautiful. Varied wildlife (deer, foxes, rabbits) visited each day and the stars at night-amazing! Upon entering the cabin we were met with a list of instructions. Don't use the wood stove (you don't know how and we don't want a fire). Don't park in the garage (which would have been nice in the snow storm and freezing weather especially when unpacking and packing the cars). Don't use the outdoor stairs because of ice; too bad the only key we had would open only the door on the balcony. Don't turn the heater on high. In addition, the cabin was dirty. The stove needed a good cleaning before being used, there was food stuck on plates, in the muffin tins, and in the pots and pans, and several cabinets had visible bug droppings inside and on the dishes. The owner also left their dirty clothes hamper full of their OWN DIRTY CLOTHES in front of the washing machine. We were warned in the aforementioned instructions not to leave too many dirty towels or there would be an additional charge. How many is too many when 8 people are staying a week? Oh, and strip your own bed, too. Shouldn't this be covered by the cleaning fee charged with the cabin? The outdoor grill was unuseable because a piece was missing (after we specifically asked about the cabin having a grill when booking). There was no toaster that we could find and the selection of cookware and utensils was minimal. The listing touted Wi-Fi, but even with the authorization key it didn't work and none of our devices would ever connect. We were also told it would be nice if we replaced any toilet paper and paper towels that we used. We have rented numerous cabins before and we have never been told to replace anything. Not all of the bathrooms had soap, and if you don't clean the master bathroom shower door, there will be an additional charge for that, too. The cabin is nice and good for a large group. The owners just need to prepare the cabin better and get a professional cleaning crew. If they address the problems, it could be a fantastic place!Recommended for: Families with teenagers.
