Five bedroom waterfront home in Deeo Cove on Vancouver's Indian Arm saltwater inlet, 25 minutes from downtown. This beautiful vacation residence is bordered on the west by a year round creek. The property has a private dock, rocky beach, and garden area. Additionally, it has a large heated jacuzzi/hot-tub built into a wooden deck between the house and the water.
The home itself is ideally situated to capture the beauty of its setting. Each of its three stories have many windows that look out on the inlet outside. Each story also boasts a cedar deck, where you can enjoy your morning coffee while watching the sunrise.
The residence has a reverse layout with a top floor entrance into the living, kitchen and dining areas, which open onto a panoramic e/s/w view. Visible from the property are both deep cove marinas, coastal mountains and islets, and the lights of port Coquitlan and Burnaby in the distance. Tidal changes are up to twelve feet here and crabs can be caught right off the dock. The house is very private and feels as though you're 'away from it all,' yet it's only 20 km from downtown Vancouver. Families traveling together will find this spot a refreshing and private escape in all seasons. Like all homes in this area, the property is forested by cedars and deciduous trees.
This home is newly listed with VRBO after extensive upgrades and remodeling over the last five years. It is now available for weekly, monthly, or longer periods by agreement (it is otherwise used as the family's vacation home). We are not renting for shorter stays than one week or for groups hosting events. While the house can sleep more, we prefer to limit the group size to 10 or 12 including children. However, larger family units are welcome to inquire and we can discuss accommodation variables.
Residential neighborhood “quiet hours” are observed before 10 a.M.And after 10 p.M. Daily.
At the street level there is a garage and parking for 2 other vehicles. The home is a ten minute walk to the Deep Cove village along Panorama Drive (where the Baden/Powell trail from Mt. Seymour area ends), as well as to the local kayak center and two marinas. Street parking is also available for additional cars and visitors w/o charge or time limits. Note: ambulatory abilities are necessary, as the house has extensive stairs, and there are no lifts on any level. This is NOT a 'child safe' house in that there are open stairwells, etc. so renters must strictly supervise young children in and out.
Bedrooms:
The four bedrooms on the middle level of the house include:
(a) master bedroom with private inlet-facing deck, king-sized bed, a movable single bed, and en-suite bath;
(b) creek-side bedroom with small creek-facing deck and private entrance and queen-sized bed;
(c) creek-side bedroom with queen-sized bed;
(d) bedroom with double bed.
The bottom floor of the house has a creek-side bedroom with a queen-sized futon.
The home also has a playpen/baby bed if needed, but does not have a crib. A high chair also will be supplied if needed on request.
Bathrooms:
(a) one-half bath on top floor;
(b) one shared bathroom on the middle floor (with combined jetted tub and shower);
(c) one en-suite bathroom attached to master bedroom on middle floor, with double-headed shower;
(d) one bathroom on bottom floor, with shower enclosure and a sauna.
Entertainment and relaxation:
(a) hot tub /jetted jacuzzi (outside);
(b) two person sauna (located inside lower bathroom);
(c) small garden/grassy area;
(d) private dock (with space to tie up your own boat up to 20 feet w/ approval) and swim ladder;
(e) private access beach (rocky, with stairs to water);
(f) pool table;
(g) large flat screen TV on upper level, with smaller TV on lower level, both with cable.
(h) board games, books, and cards for cozy nights at home.
Kitchen
Newly remodeled and fully equipped with place settings for 10+ many more large and small plates, bowls, and flatware. All standard cooking equipment and platters, etc. Stainless refrigerator + dishwasher, all customary small appliances, and barbeque on upper deck available year round. Also has separate wine refrigerator and bar sink, with wine and cocktail glasses. Main table seats 6 + 5 at adjacent granite bar/ counter + table extension can be added to seat more at dining table. Small kitchen also on lower level with microwave, sink, and refrigerator. High chair and booster chair available on request.
Flooring:
All of the of upper two floors have new bamboo hardwood flooring and we ask guests to wear clean, soft soled shoes or slippers; bottom floor is tile and carpet.
Access to lower level also can be entirely from outside, using stair/walkway from street level if desired. Shoe trays are provided in entrance foyer and utility room.
Fireplace: no wood burning allowed. Upper level gas burner not yet installed so no fires at present (12/12).
All rentals are subject to contract and advance deposits. Pricing in this listing may be adjusted depending on number of guests, pets, etc and length of stay (e.G., 10 days v. Weekly rate).

Hi, Jean, We had a wonderful time at your vacation home in Deep Cove. The setting is beautiful and the village of Deep Cove is charming and conveniently near. After the marathon we spent our time sightseeing the awesome natural wonders of the area (Squamish, Vancouver island) as well as the urban sights like Gastown and Chinatown. Your home was perfect for my family. It was very comfortable and relaxing and the view from the deck was spectacular in the evenings with a glass of wine. The home is nicely appointed and has a warm, welcoming ambiance. I would recommend it to anyone. Please feel free to post the above and thanks for being so interested in our stay here. Our stay at the Oceanfront Escape was everything we hoped for and more! We had 3 families stay for a few of the nights over Christmas, and had plenty of room on the three levels. A great layout for groups of 10-15 people! We especially enjoyed the hot tub on the back deck overlooking the beautiful view of Deep Cove! Gorgeous! The creek rushing by the house was the best white noise at bedtime - and we all slept like babies! Comfy beds, lots of space and beautifully decorated. The First Nations art was particularly stunning! Really enjoyed being so close to Mt. Seymore - 20 minute drive and we were able to enjoy tubing and fun in the snow. Fantastic location on the water - you feel like you are "out of town" but you are really close to all of Vancouver's best sights! Great spot. Jean was wonderful to talk to, and made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. Extra bedding and high chairs for the little ones and all the details looked after. Great communication and Paul was such a friendly greeter as well! We loved the Honey Maple donuts he recommended in the village! Can't say enough about our time here. The perfect Vancouver holiday vacation. We highly recommend the Oceanfront Escape!Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

"We thoroughly enjoyed staying in your home. The house is perfect and the setting is gorgeous. We were fortunate to have beautiful weather and we enjoyed kayaking, walking into town, and playing at the park. We also discovered Cate's Park and my children loved the playground there. Deep Cove is such a charming little town and I loved being able to walk the short distance from the house to town. Our favorite restaurant was Honey Doughnuts, in Deep Cove. Thank you for providing the baby bed, high chair, baby plates and cup, etc. You even left a stash of diapers! You went out of your way to make our stay comfortable! The view from the master bedroom is fantastic and the master bath shower is a dream come true! I absolutely loved the mattress in the master bedroom. It was perfectly soft and comfortable, yet firm at the same time. It was especially nice to have the twin bed in the master bedroom for my little boy. Thank you for everything! Year Purchased: 2005
About the owner: This residence is owned by a Californian couple and is used, primarily in warmer months, as a vacation residence for themselves and friends and family. Due to work and travel, we do not use the home as much as we would like, so we have decided to share our home with people from other areas who will enjoy and care for it. We have great neighbors in Deep Cove and are looking to rent to visiting families and friends traveling together. No rentals for events, bachelor parties, social gatherings, etc. or for large group/corporate functions at this time.
Why the Owner Chose Other Vancouver Properties:
We looked at all kinds of properties once we decided that the Greater Vancouver area was where we wanted to spend much of our leisure time. We wanted to have water access easily (we boat and swim), privacy, feel connected to the Pacific Northwest forest, and have all the urban excitement and amenities of a great city. Deep Cove proved to be the unique answer for all our desires.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Very few places can offer the amenities of this home: a private dock for lounging, a hot tub where you can enjoy a glass of wine while the sun sets, a pool table for gaming, a sauna to warm up after a swim off the private dock, and glorious views.
