Other Vancouver Properties house description
Five bedroom waterfront home in Deeo Cove on Vancouver's Indian Arm saltwater inlet, 25 minutes from downtown. This beautiful vacation residence is bordered on the west by a year round creek. The property has a private dock, rocky beach, and garden area. Additionally, it has a large heated jacuzzi/hot-tub built into a wooden deck between the house and the water.
The home itself is ideally situated to capture the beauty of its setting. Each of its three stories have many windows that look out on the inlet outside. Each story also boasts a cedar deck, where you can enjoy your morning coffee while watching the sunrise.
The residence has a reverse layout with a top floor entrance into the living, kitchen and dining areas, which open onto a panoramic e/s/w view. Visible from the property are both deep cove marinas, coastal mountains and islets, and the lights of port Coquitlan and Burnaby in the distance. Tidal changes are up to twelve feet here and crabs can be caught right off the dock. The house is very private and feels as though you're 'away from it all,' yet it's only 20 km from downtown Vancouver. Families traveling together will find this spot a refreshing and private escape in all seasons. Like all homes in this area, the property is forested by cedars and deciduous trees.
This home has had extensive upgrades and remodeling over the last five years. It is now available for weekly, monthly, or longer periods by agreement (it is otherwise used as the family's vacation home). We are not renting for shorter stays than one week except 'off season' and then to families or businesses and not for 'event' (parties, etc) use. It is a NON SMOKING house in a quiet area. We prefer to limit the group size to 10 or 12 including children. Property usage is intended for registered guests for the most part (e.g., a few local friends/family/business retreat members visiting is fine but no large parties or events or celebrations with visitors not on the contract unless with owner's prior permission). NOTE: This is not a 'formal' house in terms of dining table with leaves, matching chairs beyond six, etc. It is as depicted in the photos. We do have a table extension in matching wood to seat 10.
Residential neighborhood “quiet hours” are observed before 9 a.m. and after 9 p.m. daily.
At the street level there is a garage and parking for 2 other vehicles. The home is a ten minute walk to the Deep Cove village along Panorama Drive (where the Baden/Powell trail from Mt. Seymour area ends), as well as to the local kayak center and two marinas. Street parking is also available for additional cars and visitors w/o charge or time limits. NOTE: ambulatory abilities are necessary, as the house has extensive stairs, and there are no lifts on any level. This is NOT a 'child safe' house in that there are open stairwells, etc. so renters must strictly supervise young children in and out.
The four bedrooms on the middle level of the house include:
(a) master bedroom with private inlet-facing deck, king-sized bed, a movable single bed, and en-suite bath;
(b) creek-side bedroom with small creek-facing deck and private entrance and queen-sized bed;
(c) creek-side bedroom with queen-sized bed;
(d) bedroom with double bed.
The bottom floor of the house has a creek-side bedroom with a queen-sized futon. It is less 'finished' than the other bedrooms but comfortable, has own bath downstairs and TV in bedroom.
The home also has a playpen/baby bed if needed, but does not have a full size crib. A high chair also will be supplied if needed on request (2 available).
(a) one-half bath on top floor;
(b) one shared bathroom on the middle floor (with combined jetted tub and shower);
(c) one en-suite bathroom attached to master bedroom on middle floor, with double-headed shower;
(d) one bathroom on bottom floor, with shower enclosure and a sauna.
Entertainment and relaxation:
(a) hot tub /jetted jacuzzi (outside);
(b) two person sauna (located inside lower bathroom);
(c) small garden/grassy area;
(d) private dock (with space to tie up your own boat up to 20 feet w/ approval) and swim ladder;
(e) private access beach (rocky, with stairs to water);
(f) pool table;
(g) large flat screen TV on upper level, with smaller TV on lower level, both with cable.
(h) board games, books, and cards for cozy nights at home.
Newly remodeled and fully equipped with place settings for 10 and many more large and small plates, bowls, and flatware (not all matched). All standard cooking equipment and platters, etc. Stainless refrigerator + dishwasher, all customary small appliances, and barbeque on upper deck available year round. Also has separate wine refrigerator and bar sink, with wine and cocktail glasses. Main table seats 6 + 5 at adjacent granite bar/ counter + small table extenders can be added to seat 10 at dining table. Small kitchen also on lower level with microwave, sink, and refrigerator. High chair and booster chair available on request.
All of the of upper two floors have new bamboo hardwood flooring and we ask guests to wear clean, soft soled shoes or slippers; bottom floor is tile and carpet.
Access to lower level also can be entirely from outside, using stair/walkway from street level if desired. Shoe trays are provided in entrance foyer and utility room.
Fireplace: two fireplaces w/ gas inserts and decorative logs/stones: no wood burning!
Upper decks: For travelers with small children please know that the decks are wood rail with safety glass inserts--but still, glass.
All rentals are subject to contract and advance deposits. Pricing in this listing may be adjusted depending on number of guests, pets, etc and length of stay (e.G., 10 days v. Weekly rate).

Working Retreat Hideaway
Working Retreat Hideaway
The incredible location and beautiful views of the cove made this an excellent place to brainstorm. For the business meeting part of the retreat, the flat screen TV was perfect for use with projecting items from the computers for everyone to see. The kitchen and eating area helped in the building of team building experiences. Everything was well stocked so time wasn't wasted in getting settled. The bedrooms are situated such that each person was able to retreat for privacy when desired. It was a pleasure interacting with the owner to make the arrangements for the working retreat. Thanks again for a wonderful time.

The stay at this beautiful home in Deep Cove was amazing. The home has views for days and is very quiet and tranquil. You are steps from the little town which is charming as well as amazing hikes. There is one of the best appointed kitchens which we loved as we cooked and enjoy the beauty of the home and Deep Cover. Public transportation was also very easy with a bus stop to the city around the corner. This is a perfect spot to enjoy the city and be far enough away to appreciate the beauty and nature of Vancouver.

A Small Piece of Paradise
A Small Piece of Paradise
Our stay at this beautiful home enclosed by spectacular trees and foliage was literally a piece of paradise for my extended and immediate family alike. There were an array of activities to do for all ages. From those of us who loved to sit on the deck and just enjoy the serene ocean view to those who loved exploring sea life from the private dock. The hot tub and pool table offered nightly relaxation options. The expansive kitchen allowed us to enjoy scrumptious meals and quality time with all kitchen items and appliances provided. A luxury master bedroom with a balcony offering a sanctuary of peace with yet another amazing view lured us home nightly. The lulling sounds of the creek kept us sleeping soundly anticipating yet another adventure filled day taking in the sights and sounds of the quaint little town of Deep Cove. A visit to the pizza place, gelato shop and coffee shop was worth it's weight in gold. Canoeing, picnicking and playing at the beach and near the marina gave us all our fill of joy. This is a place we will definitely visit again and highly recommend! Thank you to the wonderful owners who were so pleasant to interact with and made our time that much more memorable!!

The house, the views, the comforts were perfect
Thank you for all the details and help you provided me with to ensure our stay was perfect. The house, the views, the comforts all were perfect. Relaxing on your decks, dock, or in your hot tub prevented us from leaving quite as much as we planned since we were so happy here. The climb to Quarry Rock on the Baden-Powell trail was fun and our dinners locally at the Arm's Reach Bistro and The Raven Pub were delicious. Hope we can boat Indian Arm another time. Perfect family vacation
Perfect family vacation
We were delighted that we were able to enjoy a family vacation in this house in Deep Cove. The house is very spacious and comfortable, easily accommodating our family of 6 adults and 4 children. The combination of staying in a well-maintained and equipped home, situated right on the water in such a beautiful and peaceful setting, while at the same time being convenient to the amazing city of Vancouver and what it offers, is very special. Because of our little ones we had dinner at the house every evening and were always able to eat out on the deck. For that we very much appreciated the 8 foot table and chairs that was set out there for us. Also, having a 2 1/2-year-old grandchild we appreciated the safety gates on the stairs. Deep Cove itself is a gem. Daily we strolled around the cove, through the waterfront park and in to the town center, stopping at the playground and hitting the gelato and ice cream stores. We took advantage of the Deep Cove kayak rental shop just across the water from the house. They even had a PFD that fit our 2 1/2 year old. And our kids and grandkids loved their hike up the beautiful Baden Powell trail with easy access just down the road from the house. Our Vancouver outings included Stanley Park and its excellent aquarium, Granville Island --- the Public Market is not to be missed---, the Anthropological Museum at the University of British Columbia, and just strolling around the city center and Yaletown. In North Vancouver we enjoyed the Capillano Suspension Bridge and right from Deep Cove we hired a small cabin cruiser for a two-hour excursion up Indian Arm. This is another outing that is a must and was made even better because we were picked up and dropped off at the dock at the house.

We used this lovely home in Deep Cove for a two-day working session for 6 people. We found it to be a perfect location for a retreat - near enough to Vancouver for access but remote enough to feel removed from usual work environments. It is a well equipped home with a comfortable atmosphere. The open concept upper floor made for a perfect meeting area with room to spare. The landlord was extremely accommodating and helpful and we plan to book this location again later in the year and possibly multiple times in the future. The bedrooms were quiet and comfortable. The open space on the lowest floor was used as a bedroom - using the sofabed as the 6th bed. Access to the hot tub was a plus.

We had a wonderful time
Hi, Jean, We had a wonderful time at your vacation home in Deep Cove. The setting is beautiful and the village of Deep Cove is charming and conveniently near. After the marathon we spent our time sightseeing the awesome natural wonders of the area (Squamish, Vancouver island) as well as the urban sights like Gastown and Chinatown. Your home was perfect for my family. It was very comfortable and relaxing and the view from the deck was spectacular in the evenings with a glass of wine. The home is nicely appointed and has a warm, welcoming ambiance. I would recommend it to anyone. Please feel free to post the above and thanks for being so interested in our stay here. We had a great time. Best regards, John

The perfect retreat for a Christmas getaway
The perfect retreat for a Christmas getaway
Our stay at the Oceanfront Escape was everything we hoped for and more! We had 3 families stay for a few of the nights over Christmas, and had plenty of room on the three levels. A great layout for groups of 10-15 people! We especially enjoyed the hot tub on the back deck overlooking the beautiful view of Deep Cove! Gorgeous! The creek rushing by the house was the best white noise at bedtime - and we all slept like babies! Comfy beds, lots of space and beautifully decorated. The First Nations art was particularly stunning! Really enjoyed being so close to Mt. Seymore - 20 minute drive and we were able to enjoy tubing and fun in the snow. Fantastic location on the water - you feel like you are "out of town" but you are really close to all of Vancouver's best sights! Great spot. Jean was wonderful to talk to, and made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. Extra bedding and high chairs for the little ones and all the details looked after. Great communication and Paul was such a friendly greeter as well! We loved the Honey Maple donuts he recommended in the village! Can't say enough about our time here. The perfect Vancouver holiday vacation. We highly recommend the Oceanfront Escape!

The house is perfect and the setting is gorgeous..
"We thoroughly enjoyed staying in your home. The house is perfect and the setting is gorgeous. We were fortunate to have beautiful weather and we enjoyed kayaking, walking into town, and playing at the park. We also discovered Cate's Park and my children loved the playground there. Deep Cove is such a charming little town and I loved being able to walk the short distance from the house to town. Our favorite restaurant was Honey Doughnuts, in Deep Cove. Thank you for providing the baby bed, high chair, baby plates and cup, etc. You even left a stash of diapers! You went out of your way to make our stay comfortable! The view from the master bedroom is fantastic and the master bath shower is a dream come true! I absolutely loved the mattress in the master bedroom. It was perfectly soft and comfortable, yet firm at the same time. It was especially nice to have the twin bed in the master bedroom for my little boy. Thank you for everything! We look forward to vacationing at your home in Deep Cove in the future."

About the owner: This residence is owned by a Californian couple and is used, primarily in warmer months, as a vacation residence for themselves and friends and family. Due to work and travel, we do not use the home as much as we would like, so we have decided to share our home with people from other areas who will enjoy and care for it. We have great neighbors in Deep Cove and are looking to rent to visiting families and friends traveling together. No rentals for events, bachelor parties, social gatherings, etc. or for large group/corporate functions at this time.
Why the Owner Chose Other Vancouver Properties:
We looked at all kinds of properties once we decided that the Greater Vancouver area was where we wanted to spend much of our leisure time. We wanted to have water access easily (we boat and swim), privacy, feel connected to the Pacific Northwest forest, and have all the urban excitement and amenities of a great city. Deep Cove proved to be the unique answer for all our desires.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Very few places can offer the amenities of this home: a private dock for lounging, a hot tub where you can enjoy a glass of wine while the sun sets, a pool table for gaming, a sauna to warm up after a swim off the private dock, and glorious views.
