Corazon de Luz is a uniquely beautiful vacation home. Nestled at the edge of the jungle, and facing out towards the ocean and town, you may find you never want to leave the house. Located on the lush, southern side of Sayulita, we are just a 10-minute walk (or 5 minute taxi ride) from town, beaches and jungle trails. The grounds are spectacular, overflowing with tropical flowers, lush palms and brilliantly colored birds. Corazon de Luz is perfect for a small group or family, with 3-4 bedrooms and 3.5 baths.
This hand-made home was designed and built as a labor of love. The architecture is a contemporary twist on the traditional coastal palapa-style. The space is tranquil, organic and harmonious with nature. Walk through the entrance towards a spectacular ocean view and sparkling blue water of our large infinity pool. The spacious, serene living room, dining area and airy, fully equipped working kitchen are crowned by a three-story palapa. It is the communal space.
The romantically appointed master bedroom is at the top of a sweeping staircase, with it’s own separate wing, sitting area, king-sized bed with luxurious linens and a Zen-like bathroom with an open-air private shower. The other side of the house has another master suite, with it’s own living room, king-sized bed and two decks. Upstairs is a sleeping loft with a full and twin bed, perfect for older children who will feel like they are in a tree house, but safe and sound under a palapa roof.
Crossing the bridge and heading downstairs is the lovely and romantic “jungle room”. The queen size bed faces the jungle and ocean view and has an outdoor seating area and very spacious bathroom and closet. Private, peaceful and quiet.
The whole house enjoys the benefit of a water purification system. The pool is perfect for swimming laps or simply lounging. It can be heated upon request. Every bedroom has air-conditioning, overhead fans, spacious closets and your own safe.
Our caretakers, Fabiola and Canuto will provide housekeeping and laundry six days a week. They live on site in their own casita and are there to provide warmth, security and if you speak a little Spanish, very lively conversation. Our fantastic house managers, Gabbi and Nick will be your liaisons, providing personal service. They will be available to make your trip as comfortable as possible, connecting with you before you arrive. The house has wi-fi, iPod docks and safes in each bedroom, but no television. We prefer to plug into nature, read a book and enjoy the sweetness and charm of our little village.

i dont even know where to begin, in telling you about our time at corazon de luz. it was truly, absolutely breathtaking. i have NO suggestions. we had an incredible time, the house is beyond amazing, canuto and fabiola are spectacular... so friendly and happy and fun to visit with. they did everything they were supposed to. my family likes to hang out at home in the mornings ... have our coffee, cook a good breakfast, and lounge till noon or so ... and they were a delight when they came to clean, and always accommodated our schedule. we had fabiola cook for us one night. she made tamales and they were delicious. and nick is delightful and so willing to help (although we probably "under used" him, because that is how we roll) ... i think we were all astounded by the home. we travel a lot, and it is the most magnificent place we have ever stayed. everything about it is wonderful. every day, waking to the view and the surroundings was perfect. the beds are so comfortable ... we all slept so well. i took more showers than i ever do, because they are so FABULOUS being outdoors! and the moon at night, reflecting off the pool, with the view below ... was amazing. and you have impeccable taste. everything in the house was perfect ... and we really, really appreciated every single thing. your dishes, the doors, the art, the furnishings, the layout, the bathroom counters, the sinks, the amazing placement of things... like the window in the master bath toilet (!!!). we have already had a few slide shows since we have returned, and the girls posted many photos on facebook, and everyone is just blown away by the house. thank you to you, and nick, and fabiola, and canuto, for helping us make wonderful memories. i hope they all enjoyed us, as much as we enjoyed them. the vision of corazon de luz will stay in all of our minds until the next time we can visit, which i hope will be soon. i hope the next family to stay after us, enjoyed it as much as we did.Did you find this review helpful? We are in love with Corazon de Luz. We just got back tonight, but want more time at the house. We had such an amazing time. Gabbi and Nick were incredible, and Fabiola and Canuto were the absolute sweetest. You really did an incredible job hiring your crew. =D Just wanted to thank you again for the rental. About the owner: We built this beautiful house after we fell in love with Sayulita during a family vacation. We designed it as space where family and friends could come together to relax, play and enjoy the sweetness of this magical town. We live in California and are both in the arts and design communities. Our family love traveling, surfing, yoga, swimming and nature. We enjoy the warmth of the people and the life-style of this special town. We have made wonderful, creative and life-long friends in Sayulita. Our senses come alive in this special place!

Corazon de Luz is considered one of the most beautiful homes in the area. It was designed so that we could share a communal space and then retreat to our own private areas. Much consideration went into the design. Having traveled extensively as a couple and a family, we chose what we loved best about our favorite places. I think once you step foot in Corazon de Luz, you'll see what a special this 'heart of light' is all about!
