The Maison Blanche was precisely as listed. We very much enjoyed our week long stay there with our friends. This was our return trip to the Peninsula so we pretty much have the lay of the land and this location is a bit away from the center of activity, which we prefer. The house was very comfortable for the 4 of us and we really enjoyed breakfast on the veranda every morning looking over the ocean. It was very pleasant to open all the doors, turn on the ceiling fans, and enjoy the ocean breeze. We like to cook and the kitchen was adequately equipped and the grill worked well for our cooking needs. We were surprised by the lack of a full sized oven but never really missed it during our stay. It was an easy walk up and down the beach to the nearby docks for a sunset beverage or a little bit of fishing when we chose to do so. The i-pod docking station was used frequently to listen to our music as we never turned on the television our entire stay. The check in and check out at Singing Sands was very quick and easy and Anna was very helpful providing information and answering question prior to our arrival. I would recommend having a car for going to the grocery store or just general transportation for adventures. We were very happy with our experience and will be returning again soon!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, romantic getaway.

The pictures do not do this place justice. It is stunning. When we arrived, Anna was there putting finishing touches on the house and we were amazed at just how beautiful it truly was. Everything we needed was in the house and we were able to make it our own quickly. They thought of so many details, even the kitchen had all of the basics for cooking meals. The caretaker next door was very helpful when we had questions but otherwise just left us in peace to enjoy the ocean and house. Highlights were the upstairs deck with breathtaking views of sunrise and sunset, the back patio facing the ocean where we ate most meals and the constant breeze that kept everything cool. We only used the AC at night since you will need to close windows at dusk to keep out mosquitos. We had no mosquito problems during the day and no sand fleas at all. One thing to note, dogs are not generally fenced in and you will find them coming onto the back porch hoping to get pet and/or a scrap of food. We encountered 3 during our visit that belonged to various neighbors--all were sweet, gentle and well behaved. We loved having them around the house. They seemed very well trained when it came to not entering the house--with the doors wide open they never crossed the threshold. You can easily scare them off if you are not a dog person, but we loved them. We had a car while there to get back and forth into the village. Cars and gas are very expensive in Belize. You can easily flag a Ritchies bus in front of the house for $2BZ to take you into the village and catch another one coming back. The entire pennisula is only about 16 miles long and this house puts you about 8-10 miles North of the village center. You are 2 miles from a grocery store and about a mile from 2 fantastic restaurants, one of which is Singing Sands--they actually manage this house but we ate there independently and really enjoyed it. The house provides bikes as well. Anna was really helpful with logistics and information. If you get the chance to stay here, do it! You will not be disappointed.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
